Chapter 70
3weeks later
Claudia's POV
I took a deep breath and attacked Yul again, well in this case, tried to. He easily held my fist in his hand and twisted it. I let out a yelp and swung the other one but he easily caught it to.
What's up with this guy, can't he go easy on me for one.
"You disappoint me, I thought you knew better than that." He tsked and I rolled my eyes. Typical Yul, trying to provoke you with his words so you would get angry and show your be.
"And who told you I don't?" I surprised him by sending a high kick to his chest making him stumble backwards. We kept on doing that for a while, trying to make the other opponent surrender but neither of us did.
I was panting by the time both of us stopped to catch our breath.
"Yul, are you gonna let a girl take you down?" I smirked. Benson was having an awesome time watching me kick Yul's sorry about.
Oh yeah, I forgot. Maxwell, Benson and Kenneth were sitting on the floor. Well, Kenneth and Benson were, but Maxwell was leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. Oh gosh, he's been staring at me for the past hour, sometimes with a smirk on his face and other times with a scowl.Guess he hated to see Yul above.
"Shut up Benson or I'm the one who'll take you down." Yul shouted. I heard the boys saying 'ooh'. Wait, if Yul and Benson get into an argument then I can get the hell out of here. Now all I got to do is think of something to spike the fire up
"Is that a threat War"
"You tell me Davis." I chuckled at that. Yul and Benson remind me of little children, always fighting and bickering. I knew they were joking around like they always do, so nothing's serious.
"She can do better." I narrowed my eyes at Maxwell. He was standing there, arms crossed looking devilishly as ever.
"Oh really?" I took a few steps forward till we were nose to not.
"Yes really." He smirked making me narrow my eyes.
"Then how about I prove that?" I smiled at him and swung my fist. Maxwell quickly ducked and tried avoiding my swings. I heard hooting in the background and mentally rolled my eyes. They're such kids. Maxwell and I kept on fighting each other and that my friends, is how I ended up, gasping for air, with Maxwell on top of me.
"I still think you can do better." I tried to look anywhere but him. I bet he had a huge smirk on his face, enjoying the victory but boy was I wrong
Maxwell kissed me, on the lips, in front of everyone. My mouth was hung open in shock. Did he actually do that.
"Close your mouth baby doll, you might catch flies." This time, he got up and offered me his hand. I took it and got up still shocked from the incident. It was then, when I heard a squeal that I snapped out of my trance
Oh gosh, Clara is so going to black mail me for this.
"You two are so cute together!" She clapped her hands. I blushed looking down. Well Maxwell and I aren't a 'couple' as Clara thinks we are. I don't even know why she thinks that we're a coup
"Shut up." I murmured brushing past her. I took my towel and put it on my face. When I get out of here, I am going straight to the shower. I stink!
"Aw, look at her blush!" The devil herself gushed. I gave her the glare but she just continued on laughing.
I pouted; guess I'm not that scary after all.
It has been three weeks. Three weeks since the ball happened, three weeks since being presented as a princess and three weeks since Westley stopped talking to me. Yeah, you got it; he stopped talking to me. Thinking about it just makes me feel sad.
I feel like everything was my fault. I ruined my friendship with West with my own hands. Of course Westley not talking to me made the guys curious so I told them what happened. They, on the other hand told me that Westley was being a drama queen. To my surprise, Clara said the same.
Well, on the bright side, Maxwell and I have been getting really close. We went out on a date last Friday as a date and I couldn't be happier about it.
Maxwell whistled lowly.
"Are you trying to make the guys out there steal you away from me?" He was looking at me from head to toe making my cheeks heat up. I looked down at myself. I was casual, dressed in a low cut, bright blue shirt with a pair of skinny ripped jeans. I looked at Maxwell and smirked.
"Look who's talking." He threw his head back and laughed. I stared at him with a smile on my face. I was kind of amazed and shocked too. I mean, this is the first time I hear Maxwell's laugh. His beautiful, beautiful laugh.
"What?"
"Huh?" I mentally slapped myself. Awesome way to make a fool out of yourself Claudia!
"Why are you staring at me like that?" He asked.
"Nothing." Maxwell shrugged and took my hand.
"Wohoo!" I turned around and grinned at Maxwell. All of the bowling pins were knocked down except for one.
"You're good, but I'm better." He told me cockily and I inwardly rolled my eyes. Fine, let's see what hotstuff can do.
Oh Lord, did I just call Maxwell hotstuff?
I watched as Maxwell swung his hand backward making his muscles flex and threw the ball. He didn't wait and see if he knocked the pins down, he turned around and walked to me.
'Strike', I heard the voice say. Maxwell was smirking by the time he was in front of me.
"Told you I was better." I was about to reply when he took my face in his hands and kissed me. I was about to deepen the kiss when Maxwell pulled away.
"Not here."
"All of us are going to go to the diner, wanna tag along?" Benson was the one who asked. Oh yeah, and I forgot to tell you. I met Benson's family and... well let's just say that his siblings are crazy. Even though they're royalty, both Johnson and Joanna act the total opposite of it.
But they're funny as hell.
Very true. You sit with those two for a couple of minutes and you'll find yourself laughing your ass off. As for the king and queen, they were really kind and sweet.
"Nah, I just ate." Maxwell said. Benson shrugged and looked at me.
Should I go?
I looked at Maxwell and sighed
"Okay, see you later." Benson called out away and was soon followed by the rest of the guys.
"Maxwell, where are we going?" I whined. We've been walking for about half an hour in these woods and my legs are killing me.
Yeah, I'm not an athletic kind of person.
"It's a surprise." He spared me a glance, a hint of a smile on his face but kept on walking.
Where are we going? I don't fucking know.
All I could see is trees, the sky, and the dirt. We kept on walking for another five minutes, none of us saying a word.
"Here we are."
My jaw dropped. We were at a meadow, a beautiful one. The ground was evergreen and the trees were dense, tall, reminding me of old memories. The glimmer of light was filtering everything and anything that descended from it seemed heavenly. I took a step forward, still in daze of my surroundings. For what seemed like forever, I stood there staring at it in awe.
"What do you think?" I looked at Maxwell.
"Maxwell, this is... wow, I don't even know what to say." I was out of words. Never in my entire life have I seen something as beautiful as this.
"Yeah, I come here all the time when I'm stressed or angry." I knew where he was coming from. Being here gives you a sense of relaxation. Both of us stayed silent after that.
I closed my eyes enjoying the calmness. Gosh, I wish I can stay here.
"You know, in the last couple of days, I've been having this feeling." I started opening my eyes.
"What feeling?" He stood behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist.
"That something bad is going to happen." I blew out a nervous breath. Maxwell went stiff for a moment before relaxing.
"Don't worry, if something did happen then I'll be there to protect If something did happen, Maxwell will be there for me.." I put my hands on his and smiled.
"You guys go and have fun, I'll stay here." I smiled and Benson who was nodding.
