Chapter 13 - Chloe

I stood there in fear as 3 large dragons dropped down from the sky. I looked over to Jacen and Liam, they were standing there looking scared as the looked back at me. I heard screams from the girls that competed before me. I had to save everyone. But I have never fought a dragon. As I stood there trying to think of a plan, I knew I was running out of time. Thud. The dragons landed on the ground.
The lady on the biggest dragon looked at me. she had long black hair that looked like midnight it was so dark. Her face looked pale and she just looked evil. Her black dragon huffed like it was impatient to be here. “My, my, you look just like Ava.” She said with a wicked smile on her face. I flinched. I did not know much about my birth mother I had no idea I looked like her. I saw the judges from the corners of my eyes, they looked at me with fear and like they had seen a ghost. shouldn’t they be helping me?
“what do you want?” I asked the lady on the dragon. “I am the Dragon Queen. Have more resect for me.” she roared. My impoliteness was making her unhappy. I saw her snarled her lips “you can bow to me or die just like I killed your mother.” She sounded happy over their deaths. Anger pierced my heart. I threw my hands up and fire hit her dragon. It took a step back from shock but was undamaged like all I did was lightly shove it. well of course a dragon would not be affected by fire, how stupid of me.
I saw the dragon pull its head back, I knew it was about to spit fire at me, I was in the middle of the stadium there was nothing to protect me from a blow. So, I put my hand on the ground and pulled a hard rock shield up. Just in time too, cause as soon as it was up a fire ball smashed into it. I saw it crack; it was almost not enough to hold it.
One more blow and I am dead. I must move. Think Chloe, think Chloe what can I use to stop them? Ice. It is the opposite of fire. Okay Celeste said to just think what I want. I want a bow and arrow. Instantly one appeared in my hand. I gasped. How was I going to shoot with a bow made of ice? Wouldn’t it break?
I raised my hand up for the ground to pull me up into the sky, just as I did the dragon attacked again, some of the flames got my leg. It hurt so bad I screamed out in pain but i continued to stand, I must save these people. I pulled out an arrow also made of ice. It was beautiful, light blue and almost see through. I aimed it at one of the smaller dragons. “Hit my mark” I told the arrow. Swish. The arrow flew threw the sky and struck the dragon, it shrieked out in pain. I saw ice crystals start spreading over its body.
“My baby!” the dragon queen yelled. She turned to me “KILL HER!” as she yelled the two other dragons reared their heads back to throw fireballs at me. what am I going to do? I started to feel panicked. I saw the two fire balls heading towards me, I threw my arm up to protect my face. This was it; I was going to die here. I heard the fireballs hit a wall. I looked up surprised. There was a round force field around me. did I do that? I asked looking around. I quickly noticed 4 of the girls on the ground with their arms up, they were the one making the forcefield. I nodded to them to show I appreciated the save.
I grabbed another ice arrow and pointed it towards the other baby dragon. Hit my mark, I thought to myself. Swish. My ice arrow cut threw the smoke and hit the other dragon. It stretched as the crystals frozen its body. The dragon queen looked at me in fear. She patted her dragon and they quickly flew off. She will without a doubt be back. If I wasn’t on her hit list before, I sure was now.
