Chapter 14 - Chloe

The excruciating pain from my leg was getting worse, I looked down at it and it I saw blood running from my leg where the fireball hit me. well crap. I looked around to the stadium and everyone was standing there frozen. What. Just. Happened. Why did that lady- Dragon Queen even attack what was she after?
I felt my body trembling, my fight or flight instinct was wearing off. I lowered my rock to the ground. I turned around to the ladies behind me. “thank you so much for protecting me” I told them. At the same time, all four of them put their hands over their hearts and bowed to me. “We will continue to protect you.”
I looked at them shocked. “what?” why would they do that. “We have been training for today for our whole lives. Today has been predicted since you were born. You were born under a red moon. The witch born to kill the Dragon Queen and end her rein of terror.” They all stepped closer to me. I was dumb founded I did not know what to say. I looked over to Jace and Liam, both was staring at me the barrier was still up.
I looked back at the witches, “can we take that down?” the girls nodded. “we can.” The four of them walked closer to the barrier and raised their arms. They started chanting, it flickered but did not move down. They tried again. The same results. I walked over to them. “can I help?” I asked. The girl next to me nodded and said, “Repeat after me” she looked back to the barrier “aggere et adducite”. I repeated what she said. I felt a vibration come from my body and like glass, the barrier shattered to the ground before disappearing. I looked at the girl, “what does that mean?” she shrugged. “’bring the barrier down’ in Latin.”
Before I knew it Jacen and Liam was standing next to me, “that was amazing Chloe!” Jacen said to me. Liam grabbed my arm, “that’s great now let’s go.” He pulled my arm yanking me forward. “No.” I told him. He didn’t listen he kept pulling me forward. I used my free hand and I felt electricity on it, so I touched it to his arm. Instantly his whole body froze up and fell to the ground like he had been tased.
It didn’t take long before he was up off the ground he got in my face, his eyes glowing red. “I am a king, of kings little girl. You will bow and respect me.” he looked angry. “but I will not” I stood up straighter. He would not be a bully and push me around. “I will not be afraid of you Liam. You are not the boss of me.” he looked like he was about to come closer, without thinking I held my hand up and squeezed it. He quickly dropped to the floor. I squeezed the air out of his lungs. I knew it wouldn’t kill him. In a second, he will be back to normal.
“That is enough Chloe.” An older gentleman said as he approached us. “As much as id love to see the vampire population depleted, starting another war with them is not in our best interest. As our new High Priestess, you should do well to keep that in mind.” At that moment him, and everyone in the stands put their hands over their heart and bowed to me. “My name is Judd, but you can call me grandfather.” Everyone gasped. “grandfather?” I asked shocked.
“yes indeed, Ava was my daughter. I knew she was pregnant; I also knew she had a baby, but I was told that my sweet Ava and my granddaughter was killed that night. I had no idea that you made it out alive.” He looked like he was about to tear up. I was looking around at everyone staring at me, I hadn’t noticed that the world around me was getting harder to grip. Everything dramatic just happened and I’m still bleeding out. My birth parents are dead, I’m a witch and now a high priestess. I looked over to Jacen, everything was going black and then I fainted.
