Chapter 25- Jacen

“Okay, lets head back.” I said looking at Dakota.
“But we didn’t find anything?” he asked looking as disappointed as I felt.
“yes, I am aware. But I don’t want to be away from Chloe long plus without any leads we are sitting ducks. We can head back and think of another plan.” I said turning around
“What if I do have a lead?” he said stopping me in my tracks.
“Well, by all means. Share it with the class.” I said hope in my heart.
“yes well, she is a half-fae.” he walked next to me.
Impossible. Half fae are unheard of. And myth says they have no powers.
“Do you take me for a fool? Even if you do know a half broken fae, she wouldn’t have any powers. So how would she help?” I irately started at him.
He cleared this throat, “I know she has no actual powers, but she is a keeper.”
My eyes widened. He knows a keeper? A keeper is someone who holds and protects magical artifacts. There is only a few of them. They are known to live in villages.
“That changes a lot then, take us to her.” I said.
He grabbed my hands. And we teleported to a mountain.
I was blinded for a second, the world what white and bright.
I felt the cold air on my skin, as a vampire it didn’t really bother me. Dakota glamoured a heavy coat on himself, so I could tell he was cold.

“Mt. Everest?” I asked. Never really been here before, but I know how magical creatures like to be extra like this.
“yup” he nodded and started heading into the woods.
“great,” I said as I used my hands to brush my hair back. I had to look like hell.
We quietly walked through the woods for a few miles... I just kept thinking about Chloe and how I hoped it would not be too late for her.
“Why didn’t we teleport to the village?” I asked trudging through the snow.
“stupid. You cannot just teleport to a hidden village protected by magic.” He spit the words at me like an insult.
I mean when he put it that way… It was a stupid question.
“Yeah, Yeah.” I said. I looked around; the mountain was quiet, peaceful. Not a single soul or even footsteps where there had been people.
Dakota stopped, so I stopped and looked at him. He put his hand out as he did the air rippled and shimmied like there was an invisible barrier.
He grabbed my hand and we walked through. As we walked through everything changed. The air went from artic to the tropics. It was so nice and warm. Dakotas jacket disappeared. I could see peoples houses and a garden.
Makes since for a hidden village to be in a protection bubble. No one can find it. also makes since for them to not live in the snow.
All the houses were the same, log cabins. They are all beautifully done and decorated. Some had plants out and rocking chairs on the porch.
“Dakota” I heard a girl say, I looked over to her. She was a very beautiful woman, long silver hair that cascaded into waves down her back, she had half of it up in a long braid.
I smiled up at her, “ma’am” I said bowing my head. This must be the woman we came for. “I assume you are here to cash in the favor I owe you?” she asked with a smile on her face.
“of course.” He said taking her into a big hug.
“I don’t have the cure for dust poisoning.” She said. I gasped. How did she know?
“Ahh yes, your friend must not know.” She looked over at me. “we are a collective of different types of creatures. Among us, is a seer that can see the future. She for saw you coming here to ask me. unfortunately, I do not have the cure. But I can help with a transfer.” She said looking back to Dakota. “but as you know both are dangerous.”
“We know, but we can’t let anything to happen to her. As you probably know, she is our High priestess.” Dakota said with pain in his eyes. “also, your niece, I know. Follow me.” she turned away and started to walk into the closest cabin. We followed behind her.
I stepped into the house; the smell of warm apple pie hit my nose. It smelt delicious. As a vampire we have no need for human food. But as a human, apple pie had always been my favorite. Brings back so many childhood memories.
On the table sat a black suitcase. I looked over to it. The silver haired lady stepped in front of me. “what is your name?” she asked. “oh right, I am sorry my name is Jacen, who are you?” I asked looking at her. “Delmy.” She said shaking my hand.
“Nice to meet you” I bowed my head to show her my respect. She smiled back at me. “I know who you are Lord Jacen. I also know for you to bow to me means a lot coming from you.” I felt shocked. She just kept surprising me.
She turned back to Dakota, “like I said, this isn’t the cure. It is a transfer. You can pull the dust out of your nieces’ system and put it into someone else.” She opened the case. It was a deep red silk scarf. “when you put this on 2 people it will pull from one and put it in another. My advice would be your original vampire here. The dust will not kill him. But it will do much worse.” I gritted my teeth. Whatever it was, I would accept it to save her. “Thank yo- “my phone started going off, I looked down and saw a missed call from Alexander. I felt my heart stop.

“we need to get back now.” I growled at Dakota. Alexander calling meant nothing good. Dakota nodded and grabbed my arm with the scarf in his other hand. I felt the magic floating around me as we started to teleport out of the room.

We quickly teleported to Chloe's room, as soon as I could see Chloe had a crystal shield over her and Alexander was in a stance ready to attack with his sword. Worry on his face and I could smell Chloe's fresh blood. What was going on in here? Was they under attack?
