Vidhi's POV



One day before the wedding

It was early morning and our Haveli was still glowing with the beautiful lights it was adorned with. Those beautiful tiny lights were assuring me that my Shubh would come very soon and make me his wife.

Everyone who mattered to us was already here by now to attend our wedding. Now only one day was left.

Shruti was here with me in my room. Bhabhi had to rush to both the houses for various preparations. So our parents decided that all the rituals will be done in one haveli but separately as per our traditions.

Friends and family could meet and attend the functions only the groom and bride were not supposed to meet.

Shubh had become very friendly with Sahil jiju, Samar Ji and Sid. They were also being referred to as 4S group by Bhai and his friends.

He told me that had never been so comfortable with anyone as he was with those 3. But I was happy as my friends were very important.

Yesterday he had called me up at around 12:30 at midnight. I was shocked to see him calling at night so picked up the phone immediately.

" Hello !!! .... Hello ?? Shubh ?? "

" Say something.. she has picked up the phone. " I heard some hushed voices.

" No... Look at the time.. it is not right. Disconnect it and give it to me " I heard Shubh's voice.

" It is perfectly alright. You will get married to her in 2 days... Talk to her." Another voice said.

" But... "

" Hello ?? Shubh ?? " I was saying but Shruti took the phone and switched on the speaker phone.

" No, it is Sahil... " Sahil jiju said and Manu looked surprised and then started smiling.

" Oh... Hello, jiju... " I said.

"He was missing you a lot so we took his phone and called you but now he is not talking. Vidhi, I think he is not interested in you. If you want, I can suggest the name of a very good friend of mine. He is also tall dark handsome like Shubh. What do you say?? " Sahil jiju said and I didn't know what to say.

" What are you saying ?? Have you gone mad ?? Don't you dare... Just give my phone back " Shubh was saying loudly but it seemed Sid had snatched the phone this time.

" Yaar Vidhi, even I am a bachelor... I love a girl but she is not interested in me. You love a man but he doesn't even want to talk to you. Don't you think we should forget about them and ... " I was grinning from ear to ear and looked at Shruti as she was listening. She looked tensed.

" Shut up Sid !!! Not another word I will break all your teeth. Go and find another girl if Shruti is not interested. Vidhi is mine... " Shubh was saying and there was a roar of laughter after that. Sid was laughing continuously.

" Why another girl?? Vidhi is my friend and understands me well. As it is you are not interested in her and I would have to find another girl too so it would be better... " I saw that Shruti looked very uncomfortable when she heard that.

" Get lost Sid, before I kill you. Sahil, Manu is right you are a SATAN. Give me my phone back. Only Samar is good. "

" But even that good boy is talking to my sister right now. And I am going to go and get my wife from Vidhi's room. I can't sleep without her. I want to see and take her in my arms now... So only Sid and you are left so either you talk to Vidhi or... " Jiju was saying and as the phone was on speaker manu heard that. She was blushing like anything.

" No way... I will talk to her. " It seemed he had finally got his phone back.

" Hello ?? " I said again.

" Hello Vidhi !!! "

" Shubh.... "

" Hi, don't listen to them, they are crazy. "

" Hmmm "

" Did you miss me," he asked.

" Yes... Did you?? "

" Hell yes, that's why they were teasing me like hell. "

" Are you sure you want to talk to me?? Sid... "

" Oh ok, wait ... " I switched off the speaker as Manu and Shruti were listening.

" I wish these 2 days get over soon. Everyone gets to meet you but just not me. "

" Hmmm, we have haldi and Mehandi ceremony tomorrow. "

" I know, I wish, I could come and see you during the ceremony. "

" But you know you can't.. "

" Just two days and then they would not be able to stop me from being with you. "

" Missing me so much??? "

" OMG !! Don't you think that we must not talk at this hour now?? "

" No my friends said that it was perfectly ok to talk to your fiance as they are not letting us meet. "

" Good night Shubh. "

" Nights would be good only after 2 days. "

" What?? Ok enough !! Who are you?? What have you done to my Shubh??" I asked.

He was even being naughty on phone. Shubh had never talked to me like that so I was shocked.

" What ??? It is me... Shubh. Your Shubh ."

" My Shubh doesn't talk like this. "

" Your Shubh is dying to take you in his arms and make you go crazy with his love. He would never let you go out of his sight. "

" Someone please call my brother. " I said.

" Hey, this is not fair... Why are you calling him?? But let me tell you I am not scared of him. "

" You are not talking like my shy Shubh. Either you are someone else or you have changed in both cases I am going to have a heart attack. I need my brother. BHAI !!!! "

" Shhh.. you are such a drama queen, just like him. You have a problem when I am shy... You say that I am from another planet and now that I am saying what I am feeling without being shy, you are creating this drama. "

" Ok... So you are Shubh??? So just now you were telling jiju and Sid that you can't talk to me at night as usual. So what happened now?? "

" I could not talk to you in front of them. They were already making me go crazy with their teasing. You know I don't like PDA. "

" Hmmm ok, I believe you. But I must sleep now or I would get dark circles under my eyes. "

" Ok... my clumsy beauty, good night, sleep tight and dream about me. "

After the wedding rituals had already started and bhabhi had to attend at both the places. The wives of bhai's friends and Manu joined her and enjoyed at both the places.

They had a haldi function first so bhabhi had gone there. Once they would come back, I would have Haldi.

I got ready for the Haldi and Mehandi. All the traditions were followed and everyone applied Haldi on me. First of all, seven married women had to apply it so my mom, bhabhi and Manu applied the turmeric and sandalwood paste on me and then everyone followed.

I took a bath and after that Heena artists had come to apply Mehandi to me and all the women.

They made a very beautiful and intricate wedding theme Mehandi design on my hands, arms and feet. Shubh's name was written on my hand and I smiled at that. So finally Shubh's name was written and locked in my destiny. I felt very good from within.

Manu and Shruti were teasing me a lot. I saw Sahil jiju waved at Manu to call her but she shook her head and smiled shyly. So I started teasing her and she turned almost red.

Sahil jiju had pulled her with him as she kept on ignoring him. I missed my Shubh but it was the other way around in our case. I was the teaser as he was very shy especially if there were people around.

Shruti and Sid were still behaving like Tom and Jerry always fighting. I asked her as to what was going on between them but she refused to talk about it. I don't know what was the problem. Sid was such a good man.

Well, I was concerned about them as they were my very close friends but at the same time, it was their issue and I was a bit busy to solve their problems.
