Bonus Chapter
Shubh's POV
It was morning and we all were sitting at the dining table. Vidhi was making her eat her favourite paneer parantha with butter, when Vikram Ji and Sandy came in, along with Vihaan and Vidya.
" Happy birthday to my little doll. " Vikram Ji picked up Shuddhi. He has always been crazy about her and keeps saying that she is a miniature of Vidhi.
I had that special bonding with Vidya. Vihaan was also very dear to me. But Vidya was a mini Sandhya, so I was very attached to her.
Vidya was the youngest of them all. She was a shy and quiet girl, just like Sandhya. While Vihaan and Shuddhi were very naughty and were just like Vikram Ji and Vidhi.
She came to me first and I picked her up. Vihaan made a puppy face and hugged Vidhi who laughed at it.
We offered them to have breakfast. But Sandhya had brought our favourite Moong daal Halwa. We all loved it. I hugged her and she served it to everyone.
Two of our helpers came in with lots of gifts packs.
" Oh, God!!! What is this?? "
" Can't you see it?? They are gifts from all of us. "
" These many?? It is not fair...you can't do that... You know I don't accept gifts. "
" Oh, hello !!! None of these is for you. They are for my pretty doll. I can do it and I am doing it. "
" But... These many things?? You spoil her a lot. "
" Don't start your lecture again. Both you siblings, start this lecture about spoiling kids... " Vikram Ji said.
" That's because both you, Rathore siblings, do exactly that. They would never learn the value of hard-earned money. "
" They are our kids... Whatever we have belongs to them... So I want to give them everything. Just chill !!! We would continue this discussion some other day... Preferably never. ". He said and I rolled my eyes.
As usual, we all went to the orphanage first to celebrate her birthday.
The arrangement was done nicely. There were many snacks like pizza, burger, noodles, chips etc for kids and onion kachori, mawa kachori, sweets, paneer pakora, dhokla, cutlets etc for older people.
The proper food with sweets and cake were also there.
Everyone was enjoying... Except for one child. He was standing in the corner but he looked extremely sad. I went to him and tried to talk to him. But he did not say a single word. I asked his name but he just kept looking at me.
I asked the manager and he told me that his name was Karan and he came to the orphanage just 2 days back. His parents died in an unfortunate situation.
The child seemed to be in a state of shock. His eyes were absolutely emotionless. There was just a very sad expression. It was so bad to see the child in that situation. I talked to Vikram Ji and he said that the child needed some help to get out of his shell, So we should send him to a psychiatrist. He made an appointment for the next day.
Shuddhi cut the cake we distributed gifts to all the kids. But this particular child didn't eat much and didn't take any gift.
We came back after celebrating the birthday and then, as usual, we had a party for family and friends.
It was a fun-filled party as Vidhi had thought of everything. Awesome food, very interesting and interactive games, magic show, temporary tattoos makers, some jokers to very cute prizes for games and return gifts.
Everyone enjoyed the party and we all came back home. After we put our daughter to sleep, we went to our room.
We changed into our night clothes and I pulled my clumsy beauty... no sorry... beautiful wife in my arms. She was not at all clumsy now.
I wanted to thank her for such a beautiful daughter she gifted me 5 years back. So I took out a velvet box from under my pillow. I had got her a beautiful ruby and diamond set. She opened the box and smiled instantly.
She tried it on and it looked beautiful on her. She kissed me hard for the gift and I was so used to it by now of getting kissed by her and ultimately seduced by her sultry charms. All she had to do was kiss me and as usual, one thing leads to another and...
We were lying on bed cuddled with each other as we were really tired,
We were trying for another baby now as Vidhi had a miscarriage and we lost our unborn child. I told her that I didn't want another child as she was more important to me. But she said that she wanted a little boy just like me. I wanted that too but not at the cost of her health.
She placed her head on my shoulder and I had my arms wrapped around her.
She was a very loving and doting mother. Every child in the orphanage liked her as she genuinely cared for everyone.
I told her about that child and she was worried about her.
I got to know that his father used to work for our company. I asked the manager to get more information about him.
Vidhi and I accompanied him to the psychiatrist. After a few sessions, he opened up a bit.
The psychiatrist suggested that he needed a family. So we tried to find some loving couple who wanted to adopt a child. But all the couples wanted a much younger child.
He was almost 10 years old and unusually sad. All the couples thought that it would be difficult for him to settle down with him.
So Vidhi suggested to me that we bring him to our home. As I was the owner of the orphanage so I didn't have to face any problem and I simply took him home without any legal process.
Vidhi and Shuddhi were at home when I drove Karan to our place. He was a bit hesitant to come in with me but just than Vidhi came out and smiled at him and he gave a very faint smile.
She hugged him and caught his hand and took her inside the home. I followed them.
Siddhi was playing with her teddy and when she saw Karan, she came towards us.
I sat down on my knees to come to her level and hugged her. She was still looking at him with her big eyes.
" Who is he, Papa?? "
" He is Karan, your new friend. He would stay here from now on. "
" Really?? With us?? Yey!!! I have a big friend now. " She clapped and jumped. Karan smiled a bit.
" Yeah... " Vidhi said.
" He is bigger than Vihaan also... Shaurya and shlok bhaiya also ?? " She asked about Sagar's sons.
" Hmmm almost as old as them. "
" He would stay here?? His mom and dad would not miss him?? " she asked innocently and the little smile that had come to his face, faded away.
" His parents are too far off. So he would stay with us. "
" Oh ok, Hello, Karan... I am Shuddhi." She said and extended her hand for a handshake.
" Hi !! " He said and shook his hand with her hesitantly.
We were satisfied to see our daughter happy to have a friend at home and that your child also got a home. Maybe now he would be absolutely alright.
We got him admitted to the same school where Shuddhi, Vihaan and Vidya went. We used to like it to see the boy getting normal now. He was a brilliant child.
I was glad that my beautiful and kind wife brought the poor and lonely child to our home. But one thing was really funny...
Karan and Siddhi were absolutely different from each other. Just like Vidhi and I was...
Karan was like me and Shuddhi was like Vidhi... Different like Chalk and Cheese.
The end.
