Chapter 13
That morning Kelly arrived safely ahead of schedule because she was leaving with Alan who was her boss. Alan didn't even have to tell the chief secretary why Kelly was late today, Rocky was already ahead of him and doing what he asked without saying much.
The man who was his assistant, secretary and main right-hand man already knew what needed to be done so there was no need for Alan to say much. The man had been taking care of and organizing all matters related to Alan's life for quite some time so he didn't need to be taught twice in this matter.
"I just managed to gain Kelly's trust and am currently in a relationship with her even though it's behind the scenes, that's all I can do now because I don't want to force Kelly. She's lived a hard life and it's not easy to be her so it's natural that she's suspicious and doesn't want to fall for me right away. I can understand, especially when I first told Kelly that I needed her for the war then she must have thought that maybe I would only sacrifice her in the war." Alan said making Rocky put the drinks on the table carefully.
"Luna accepting you so well is already something we should be thankful for. After all, Luna is someone who has not had an easy life. I don't know who her father was who brought her the Wolf blood but she was already an orphan due to her father's abandonment as a child. Since then her mother has always changed men, clothes can be said to sell herself just to fulfill and be able to finance their lives. Luna didn't like her mother's work so she was uncomfortable, Luna often advised her but her mother didn't care and until finally now she is married to the woman who has been her boyfriend for years.
"Luna's mother is a little different from her attitude, her mother is one of those who can't take care of herself let alone her pride just for the sake of money. Maybe that's why you don't want to follow what her mother does because it goes against what she thinks. Moreover, lunas already know that she is a queen of the wolf nation, although maybe she thought that it was just a coincidence and would never come true but at least she had to keep her pride and maintain a good name. I like that Luna comes from a different mindset than her mother, in the future our clan will definitely get a good companion for you and she is the one who deserves to be empress because she has clarity of thought."
Alan smiled and nodded. He was already quite satisfied with what he got at the moment, Kelly was already willing to undergo a relationship with him even if it was behind the scenes, then he could definitely get all the things from the girl who was destined to become his Luna.
"You continue your work, also monitor the state of the clan."
"I monitored it this morning, it's still the same as usual. Right now, most of our followers are still living a life of leisure and hiding. It's just a matter of waiting for the right time as you've decided, we'll attack when everything is ready."
Alan gave a small smile and nodded again. He straightened up, doing the work on the table with a better feeling at the moment. Kelly agreeing to be in a relationship with him certainly made Alan feel more energized. He could do anything that was more convincing, including to refuse and completely disagree with the future wife his father had chosen.
"Daddy also doesn't want to lose me, after all, Daddy will always agree and do whatever I want. Daddy has raised me as a nobody, it means that he has fears in case I leave him because of a disagreement with what I want."
Alan smiled softly, seemingly relaxed in his work until lunchtime came. He glanced at the watch on his wrist, before raising an eyebrow.
"Kelly didn't come into my office at all," he muttered with a puzzled look on his face. "Is that girl avoiding me?"
Rising from his seat, Alan stepped outside and found several of the secretarial staff still sitting at their respective desks even though it was lunchtime. Including, Kelly who was also busy turning over the paper in her hand and looking back at the laptop, Alan didn't know what was going on in the secretarial division, but he certainly saw that almost all of the secretarial staff were still in their places.
"Sir... Can I help you?" Aurel, one of the senior staff asked politely making Alan give her a glance.
"What's the rush here until lunch hasn't dispersed yet?" he asked flatly making Aurel misbehave for a moment at being noticed.
All this time Alan had never noticed them because if it was lunch break then this man would go to eat or eat in his room without caring about others. But today he was paying attention because the secretary seemed like something very important to him.
"There were a few copies of our inter-company cooperation files returned today that were not in sync with the actual data. So we were asked by the supervisor to double check, it's also for the good of our company in the long run so we decided to skip lunch because the company asked us to drop off the files at 2pm." Aurel replied making Alan narrow his eyes.
"Which company?"
"ECO Mas, sir. After I investigated, there was indeed a slight irregularity in the data and files so it had quite an effect on the results and stock value. We can't let a mistake of this magnitude go on for a long time to be fixed so we agreed to clear it up before going home from work. We'll have dinner together later to make up for the time we've lost, I'm confident we can do it to protect our company."
Alan sighed, then looked at Kelly who was sitting casually, either indifferent to him or oblivious to his presence here. The backstreet relationship they were in made him know enough that going too far and drawing people's attention would only make Kelly angry while at the moment I still have to make the girl longer to him.
"Take a 15-minute break, eat something that can fill your stomach. I'll go downstairs to ask the cafeteria staff to deliver food or bread to you so that you can still fill your stomach. If you manage to solve this problem then I'll give you a bonus when it's well received."
Aurel smiled at that. "Thank you for your concern, sir."
Alan didn't say anything, he just walked away and took out his cell phone. He hadn't gotten the woman's number yet so right now there was nothing to do but get into the elevator alone and close his eyes. He focused his mind, telepathizing with his girl.
"Don't be too focused and busy, take care of your health."
Kelly heard the voice in her head, then smiled softly but did not answer anything and continued her work. Kelly still didn't know what she should and could do for the man so now she also just wanted to pay attention to how he behaved.
In the human world and in the wolf world the man was equally powerful, while Kelly was just an ordinary woman who didn't even have anything. This job was the only dignity she had to keep living and make her life better. Kelly couldn't continue to depend on her mother who didn't even care about her so she could only focus on working hard for herself to produce good things for herself too.
As Alan had said, some of the canteen staff delivered snacks and bread. The thing that made Kelly eat the food with gusto was that she didn't really have much breakfast this morning either. Kelly was already convinced to move into the apartment that Alan had rented for her so after this she would live a relaxed life and wouldn't hear any sarcastic words from the waiters.

In the afternoon, Kelly left the company with a tired look on her face. Working with brains and intelligence is quite tiring and that's what she had been feeling for the past few days.
Without waiting for Alan who was nowhere to be seen, Kelly ordered a taxi and intended to pack her clothes. She didn't know how long it would take for her mother and stepfather to come home, but Kelly was ready to leave as she didn't want any more drama.
Inside the taxi, Kelly leaned her body with tiredness visible there. She wanted to rest right away but she would ask Alan first even though she didn't have his number but she wanted to make sure when she could move to the apartment to rest more energy or face other things.
While in the middle of the road, a car blocked the taxi Kelly was riding in causing him to stare in surprise at the driver who stopped.
"Why, sir?"
"There's someone in front, he's getting off."
Kelly stared at the person who actually got out of the car until he sighed when he saw that it was Alan. The man knocked on the taxi door and made jelly quickly open the window.
"Get off, come home with me."
Cold and flat, Alan's voice sounded unfriendly and it made Kelly take out the money and pay the fare as agreed. The girl got out, letting the taxi go until Alan looked flatly at Kelly's tired-looking face.
"Want to scold me for going home alone?" asked Kelly matter-of-factly making Alan catch his breath to fix his face. "There was no promise that I should go home with you, nor did you say anything about it. Am I at fault?"
