Chapter 24

Kelly walked in with Alan who had his arm around her waist. She felt that the house they were in now was very different from the house she had seen last time. The atmosphere was much quieter and even the servants were silent in every corner without daring to look at them.

Kelly knew the man next to her was not just anyone who could be dealt with, so she felt it was only natural that she would consider it inappropriate to be with this man even if they were destined to be an eternal couple by the ruler of another world.

Evelyn as well as Grand Master Warmosh were already seated after welcoming them. Kelly sat next to Alan who looked so formidable and had not lost his authority that the two old men seemed to be quietly watching him.

"I'm not going to mince words, I came here to say that I'm going to marry Kelly."

Kelly stared at Alan who said that, until she swallowed softly and silently let him speak because she didn't want to say anything at the moment. This man was going to propose to her and ask for her parents' blessing, so she didn't want to mess things up just because she opened her mouth.

"When is the wedding going to happen?"

"I've taken care of all the wedding preparations and we're getting married this week. The sooner the better because I'm sure she'll be a good woman and a good match for me. In the future she will not live in this house and will be with me after becoming a wife. All sorts of obligations and demands on her will be lifted now that I'm going to be her husband. So there is no need to do or say harsh words to my future wife, no matter even if you are her biological parents."

Evelyn looked at Kelly who was silent, she wanted to speak but couldn't possibly say anything because the one in front of her right now was an important business partner of her husband. Her husband's company had a relationship with that man so she couldn't do something that would ruin everything. She had also lost more and more of her personal rights as a mother to Kelly, making her feel a bit resentful but could only hold it in.

"Are you ready to get married?"

Kelly realized that it was her who was being asked at this time so she could only interrupt quietly and didn't want to talk too much with them because she knew how her stepfather behaved. Although Kelly was not that close to him but this time she knew that as a stepdaughter she also knew that she was expected so this man's words and questions to her now were just a formality, so she also came as a formality to show that she also came as a request for blessing to her parents.

"If you are ready to get married then get married, but before you get married Kelly should not have to stay at your place. She still has a mother and if she respects me then she should still live in this house before she gets married and becomes your wife. Those are the rules and you should realize that." Evelyn opened her voice, sounding a little unhappy that Kelly was leaving the house.

"She doesn't live in my house but in the apartment that I intentionally gave to her this time for her residence. She will only have her independence compromised if she stays in this house, so it's not a good place and decision for her to stay here before she marries me." Alan replied casually making Evelyn look at him with a serious gaze. "Don't turn a blind eye to your son who is always trying to get close to my future wife. He is a nuisance and Kelly is uncomfortable with him, you guys are always gone and rarely come home so I just want to protect my future wife from the interference of people who have no manners. One more thing, why is she living here if she's not getting any attention? It's better to leave her in the apartment and live for herself."

Evelyn and her husband no longer said anything, moreover Mr. Warmosh also seemed to be silent as if he did not want to defeat the fact of what he knew. His son did like Kelly and that was the way his son accepted Evelyn as his mother.

This woman of course was not considered by his son as a mother substitute, because this Deli who was with his wife first was why Kyle accepted her because he already liked his sister even before Mr. Warmosh married his mother.

"In that case, Lord Alan knows best and can decide whatever is best for Kelly. Do what you think is right, I can trust you as a man who will not mess around. You can do anything when it comes to Kelly since you've accepted her as your future wife. Don't forget to let us know when exactly the wedding will take place so that we can also make time and attend."

Alan nodded and looked at Kelly's face who had sighed. This girl didn't even talk to her mother at all as the woman continued to watch her. Alan knew that the pain Kelly had suffered from her mother's uncaring behavior over the years was still deep and it wasn't something that was easy to heal.

They discussed some of the little wedding things Alan was going to do and then had dinner together and Alan led Kelly away from the house with Kyle watching from upstairs. The man was completely defeated by an Alan who was more handsome and wealthy than him.

Right now he was already feeling upset but couldn't do anything, he had tried to get Kelly's heart and attention but she didn't want to see him at all. Kelly instead chose another man who was basically never and not so well known, the girl was even going to marry that man in the near future making her feel completely hopeless.

"I can't possibly do anything excessive or else my family business will be destroyed just like that by that man. Alan Wolfmes, I know that you're a very strong and capable man but why did you have to take away the woman I've longed for?"

"How could Kelly meet Mr. Alan and even have a relationship with him? How could that woman do it so casually like it was so easy to conquer Alan who we all know is a reclusive man who doesn't want to get close to anyone all this time?" Evelyn let out her suspicions and thoughts in wonder.

Her own daughter was not much of a social butterfly or sensation, Kelly was an independent and introverted girl who did not want to know many people. She was a woman of a different nature because Kelly had taken after her father, a man who had died decades before when Kelly was very young.

Now how did her daughter end up with a man who was a big CEO?

"They were meant to be and maybe they were just meant to be together so God brought them together. I don't know how to explain it but seeing your daughter married to a man of such power you should feel happy. After her father's departure Kelly never felt happy at all and I could see her face was not so depressed and even nodded when I asked, that shows that she is not actually in a state of being forced to pretend." Grand Master Warmosh said with a song because Alan had no intention of interfering with his business.

It was because he welcomed and facilitated whatever Alan wanted, well aware that the man's gaze at him seemed unwilling but it was all they could do to establish a business relationship though not as big and not as much as he needed. Alan and his father were famous as the authorities in this city, it would be very difficult if they made a mistake and ended up failing this business.

"But it's strange because Kelly was a quiet child before. Plus Kelly works in Alan's company and that man is her boss, it's rather impossible that they would fall in love with each other."

Mr. Warmosh was actually thinking the same thing but he couldn't think too much about it because there was nothing strange about it to him. He believed that soul mates would bring two people together in a unique way and it was also felt and experienced by his Princess as Kelly was able to get a great and wealthy man also because of her luck.

"Don't try to investigate anything because everything will only become a problem if Mr. Alan finds out. We will still live a long time so I still need this company to survive. You should know that I won't let you do anything that will adversely affect our company. You've never cared for her too much either so don't do anything that will cause a scene. I'm not prepared to have a debate and competition with Alan's company because it will only destroy the business I've built over the years."

Evelyn was silent, she was aware of that and she also could not play around with making them even get into trouble and losses. Today she could see her son alone should have been grateful enough because usually even if she wore perfume and handbody it would still feel sticky and uncomfortable under the sunlight to walk away.

She couldn't do anything and couldn't prevent Kelly's departure because she was with Alan whom they couldn't just touch. After all, although he was still very young but Alan was several levels above them in terms of ability and wealth.

The fact that they couldn't just touch the man was a problem. Evelyn could only hope that everything would go well and that no trouble would befall her son or even their company.

"Mom is almost and also this is how life is lived. Dad's death made me lose all the things that bring sanity. I forgot about you and didn't give you any love but rest assured that I actually love you very much. Hopefully if you marry Alan he will replace all the things that are missing from mom."

That was all Evelyn could say as a hope. She had indeed wasted and made her daughter suffer but she was happy that her daughter had grown into a great woman and married a famous rich man.

Evelyn wished Kelly happiness.
