Chapter 20

"Kelly never came home again? Where did she go?" A woman seemed to stare at her stepson's reluctant face.

"You never cared about Kelly, went with my father on his honeymoon for so long and never contacted him. Why are you looking for your daughter now? Hasn't Kelly been living like an orphan for a long time? You should know that she doesn't even care about you." Kyle said with a flat and dismissive look at his stepmother.

He didn't like this woman, he just accepted her because this stepmother brought up a daughter who was quite beautiful and made Kyle fall in love. But since Kelly even left and no longer wanted to be with him, he no longer liked this woman for having a very indifferent and uncaring nature towards Kelly.

Now he is facing a man who is not easy to beat, Alan Wolfmes. Of course she didn't want to make a mistake or her father's business would be ruined, W Company was not a small company that could be destroyed or played with because the owner was a highly respected man and it was not easy to cross him.

"I know how to educate my own son, why don't you answer my questions and scold me like that? I'm already your mother if you forgot about your father and I's marriage a month ago. You're my son now so you can't talk rudely or scold me like that."

Kyle snickered sarcastically at the woman's face. "You're just a slut who managed to seduce my father. My mother is dead in case you forgot and I've never considered anyone else as her replacement."

After saying those words he went to his room and left her in the living room alone. Kyle did have a rather haughty and rude nature, he did not easily consider someone as a friend or a good person because he did have a big trust issue. Moreover, he knew that the woman his father married was not a good woman, Kyle knew that she was a woman of the night who always seduced many men.

Kyle only fell in love with Kelly because she was so different from his mother. She was independent and hardworking, tenacious and reliable. That made him fall in love with Kelly even though he currently knew that he could not beat the man who had made Kell his own.

"Damn, where did she go that she didn't come back until this very moment? What is that girl doing?"

The woman who was Kelly's biological mother grumbled as she picked up her cell phone. She called Kelly repeatedly but no one picked up, before finally urging disappointment as her daughter did not pick up the call at all.

Alan smiled wryly, deleting all the incoming calls Kelly's mother had made on his girl's cell phone. He didn't want Kelly to see the evidence of her mother's calls because he would keep her away from her stepmother first. Of course it wasn't that easy for them to harass Kelly, he wasn't going to let her suffer anymore.

"Are you awake?"

Alan looked at her and smiled softly. He had just put Kelly's cell phone down, not knowing if she realized he was holding it or not, but certainly Kelly's face still looked a bit tired when she woke up after their activities last night.

"Are you hungry? I've ordered food, it should be here any minute. Let's take a shower, so we can be fresh for the meal."

Kelly nodded slowly and let Alan help her up. Kelly looked at Alan's serious face, leading him towards the bathroom.

"I'll take a shower myself."

Alan raised his eyebrows. "Are you embarrassed? Even though I've seen everything?"

Kelly glared. "I just have more freedom when I shower alone. I can focus more on cleaning myself," Kelly said, making Alan smile softly. "I'm used to bathing alone, I don't know how it would be if you and I bathed together."

"Alright, shower by yourself." Alan opened the bathroom door. "I'll take a shower in the downstairs bathroom to make it faster."

Kelly looked at Alan's face with a serious look. "Do you mind?"

Alan smiled, rubbing Kelly's head gently. "I just want you to be comfortable, no need to think about anything."

Kelly smiled softly and went into the bathroom, she was quite happy because Alan was a caring person and did not want to impose his will. Remembering last night how Alan made love to him, Kelly felt that the man was a gentle and warm figure, making him feel cared for by Alan after all this time he didn't get attention from anyone.

Kelly knew she might get caught up in all the attention Alan was giving her. If he hurt her after giving her so much attention like this, Kelly didn't know if she would be able to endure it when the time came that Alan would actually betray her.

"Is Alan really going to betray me one day? What if he does and I can't face myself?"

Kelly pondered for a long time in the bathroom, until finally she decided to take a shower and refresh her mind by washing her head. She should not think badly right now because it would only weaken her heart. She would see how he was after she tried to restore all the peace in the Wolfmes clan. Whether Alan would betray her or not, she would definitely know.

"He's powerful in the human world and also powerful in the wolf world, I can't guarantee if he'll get the same attention as his merit is already feeling better? I can only hope that if it really happens I can still control myself."

Kelly took a few minutes to shower and once she came out, her room was empty. There was no Alan there which made Kelly hurry to get dressed. Since it was Sunday so she was wearing casual clothes, the woman walked outside after making sure she looked good, then found Alan who was talking to Rocky on one of the lower sides of the stairs.

"If it's to be conquered now, it would be much better and easier since the old Alpha hasn't really gotten any information about our plan, sir. He's still very much relaxed and enjoying his life under his increasingly rampant rule. If you delay too much more citizens will suffer and that will not be good for the well-being of the clan. We need them to keep the population up, if most of them suffer and get killed because of the cruel power system that will only leave traumatized followers and clan citizens."

"You are right, I will endeavor to make my Luna regain all her abilities faster. Luna should immediately drink a potion from a mixture of golden peacock blood and male lion blood. Bring it tonight, I will give it to Luna when she stays at home with me."

"Luna agrees to stay over?"

"I'll insist, I'll ask her to come to the company tomorrow with me. I want to prove to her too that I'm very serious about my relationship with her. Maybe I needed her at first to save our clan, but don't you know how I am? I deliberately lived here for years because I wanted to watch and make sure that she lived well. All those years I left the clan, just so that she wouldn't be approached by other men because I would be her partner and husband.

"Kelly is still a bit distrustful of me, I need to make her understand soon. The sooner me and she save the clan, then she will know that I will never betray her. I hope she will never think further of me because I have been waiting for a long time to have a partner who can accompany me through thick and thin. Kelly is the right person, I would never accept a woman in the human world because I wouldn't be able to fight with her for justice."

Kelly heard the conversation until she fell silent and watched Alan who was still talking without noticing her arrival.

"Prepare dinner with Daddy well, I'll marry him right after this."

Rocky nodded. "What about Luna's mom? You'll have to see her if you want to marry Luna, sir."

"I know, I already have a plan. After dinner with Daddy then I'll come to Kelly's house and have dinner with her mom, set a wedding date and after that I'll marry her. I'm not messing with Kelly and I promise I'll never betray her like my father did to my mother."

Alan is a broken home child from a messy family, Kelly knows that but for some reason she is the one who feels traumatized because she is also a broken home child even though her father died when she was a child and her mother changed partners because she became a prostitute.

In this concept Kelly also feels traumatized but Alan is better able to hide his feelings because he knows that he can face everything. Actually, everyone has rights and satisfaction, Kelly shouldn't just remain a fool even if Akan intends to betray her. She couldn't sue this man even though the chances and reality were rather small when compared to her heartache.

"Alan..."

As Rocky left, Kelly just stepped down closer to the man and called out to him, making Alan turn around and smile at the girl's face.

"Let's eat, I've prepared it in the kitchen."

"You're very independent."

"That's because I feel that living in an independent way like you is a lot of fun. At home the servants don't let me do any work at all. Just stepping into the kitchen they'd surround me and ask what I needed. It's a bit annoying..."

Kelly chuckled softly and sat down on the dining chair. "You are their heir and master after all so of course they have to respect you or be threatened in their work. Actually they're loving their own jobs not you, to you they're just doing an image," she said making Alan smile a little.

"You're right, they are projecting to keep their jobs, I know about that. Since I was little they've treated me like a king to keep Daddy from firing them. If you think about it, everyone will do the same thing as long as we're on top but if we're on the bottom those people will also dump us like something worthless. What's there to think about? Everyone has experienced it so it's normal."

Kelly smiled softly and looked at him while eating. "Are you ready for something like what you said? A time when you were at the bottom and couldn't do anything?"

"Of course I can, my life hasn't been easy so far either. You think I'm so relaxed while my work and affairs as CEO are so busy?"

Kelly smiled softly and then sighed softly. "You've worked hard," she said and put a piece of bacon on Alan's plate. "Eat well, you should be able to make yourself happy."

Alan smiled, eating his food heartily while chatting warmly with Kelly. He was glad that Kelly was willing to talk and share many treasures with him without saying words that she was afraid of their relationship of some kind. Kelly was more confident and it made Alan feel good that there was progress.

"I wonder what your father will think when he sees me, I'm just an ordinary girl who won't give you any advantages. What if his father doesn't approve of me being your girlfriend?"

Alan raised his eyebrows then smiled a little. "Then he must be willing to lose me as well. Because I wouldn't be willing to continue what he wants if he won't allow me to have my own opinion."
