Chapter 21

It was mid-afternoon and Kelly really didn't expect Alan to bring in a designer just to make the dress she would wear later that evening to meet the man's father.

Kelly rarely owned or bought new clothes, as her mother was only busy beautifying herself. However, Alan seemed to understand what she needed and knew that she didn't have any nice clothes other than work clothes so he directly bought the clothes needed for dinner. Alan was a wealthy man, he didn't lack money to do anything so Kelly had no trouble if she was in a relationship with this man.

After picking out some clothes and Alan also had a hand in the matter, Kelly had a treatment at one of the salons and spas that Alan had booked. The man was there and waiting for her but did not do the same because the man also had nothing wrong with him. Alan stared and watched Kelly for a moment before he finally discussed work with Rocky in a room different from the one where the spa was being conducted.

"Tonight's dinner is going to be very meaningful, my father has said he can't wait to see you and I've had a chance to tell him some information about you first although it's not very specific. The rest you can talk to him later to get closer," Alan said when Kelly had finished the treatment.

"Okay, I'm still thinking what if she rejects me as her son-in-law or your boyfriend. Hopefully it's just my thoughts because I've never had the confidence to do this before and I've never done this before. I have absolutely no experience so there will probably be one or two that might not be pleasant. Isn't a relationship not necessarily going to continue to be good? I'm just afraid that something will happen that will make your father disappointed in me."

"You don't have to worry, my father isn't too picky. If I really intend to find someone who fits his criteria, he will definitely set me up with girls who he thinks are suitable. But when I said that I already had a girlfriend and I would take her to be introduced as a future wife my father immediately said that he agreed and waited for about 2 months. It's been more than 2 months since my father would set me up with someone else if I haven't brought my future wife. So actually my father never controlled me, if he controlled me then from the beginning he would have forbidden me to be close to you and would have forcibly set me up with that woman."

Kelly looked at Alan and smiled softly. "Haven't you ever been suspicious of your father? Has he ever realized or suspected that you're not fully human?"

"I don't know about that but during the years I lived with him my father never said a word or looked for that style as someone who was ever different from other people. My father always thought of me as someone who was just like the other children. So I never saw him look at me in a different way. He set me up and taught me hard so that I could be a good successor to the company because if I failed then the company's stake was not a good one.

"I was adopted by my foster mother and father because they had no children and they saw me as their only hope so of course they never stopped to mention me too deeply because I'm an adult and I can decide what I do. Even if I leave the house, it could be that my father doesn't want to force me from the past or it would be dangerous for his own needs and interests. My father is old so you can think that if I ran away and there was no one to take care of the company then the shares would be in a mess and people from the company would betray by becoming higher-ups and making a fuss because they were busy fighting for positions."

Kelly smiled and nodded in understanding at his words. It was true, it would be very risky if this man's father offended Alan too much. Alan was a calm person but he could be a different person and destroy whatever he wanted if he was disturbed. Even Kyle didn't dare to go to Kelly until now since he was discharged because Kyle knew it would be dangerous to deal with this man especially if Kelly's father had a business relationship with Alan.

"In this country, business is more important than anything else, there are even people who don't care about the environment as long as their money and business are running normally. Life in this city is too hard if you want to be on the road so many people forget about feelings."

Alan smiled a little and nodded, he took Kelly's hand before grasping it tightly.

"I can do it all, keep my feelings, keep the company and get happiness. In this country, marrying anyone will indeed be very easy, there are no restrictions and no coercion towards business or the like. It doesn't have to be someone who provides benefits, especially when the person marrying is a man who has been mature for a long time. I'm already established and mature, so I already have a lot of things ready for marriage. If we get married in the near future, are you ready?"

Kelly looked at Alan and smiled softly. "I'll go along with whatever you say, but don't keep me from working too much because I want to have a social life too. Then after this I want to come to the clan immediately, to find and save what happened there. I won't rest until I do."

Alan kissed the back of her hand gently and nodded. "Okay, we'll do it."

The night came quickly and Kelly was already dressed up with makeup that was not so thick but very beautiful and appropriate. She wore a dress that still seemed modest, before finally looking at Alan who was already smiling and taking her hand.

"You're already beautiful, Daddy will definitely ask me to marry you soon."

Kelly blushed at that, but then they walked out of the apartment and got into the car. Rocky was the driver because tonight they were having dinner at a restaurant. After the restaurant and then going home, Kelly just did what Alan said because she couldn't refuse.

They were lovers in the human world and eternal mates in the wolf world. Of course, they were actually inseparable unless one of them betrayed the other.

Until now, Kelly still held her fears and worries about it. However, Kelly was sure that soon everything would be answered if she helped to defuse the war going on in this male clan.

"It's here..."

Kelly smiled, looking at the outdoor restaurant in front of her. Rocky politely opened the car door for them as Alan helped her out and slowly walked towards the reserved table.

"Wow, Daddy's here..."

Kelly looked at Alan who was already cuddling with his father, they were father and son who were very close even though they did not have the same blood. It was very different from Kelly who was not close to her mother even though she was her biological mother, making her smile softly and feel sad even though she couldn't say anything.

"What took you so long to come home? Two days at your girlfriend's house?" she asked, making Alan smile.

"Of course, Daddy was young once too." Alan turned to Kelly and put his arm around her as he looked up at his father. "This is my future wife, Kelly Flora."

Kelly was introduced to Jason who was Alan's father. After a few pleasantries and laughs they sat down at the dining table and the waiter started serving the food in order.

"Daddy very rarely sees you smiling and laughing, Daddy can see that you are very happy." Jason said as he poured wine into his glass.

"Of course, I didn't do this relationship on the basis of an arranged marriage or blind date so I'm much more comfortable with choosing my own partner. So, I'm happier feeling and living it."

Jason chuckled and then looked at Kelly gently. "Are you willing to marry this guy? He's a real pain in the ass sometimes especially when he's been quiet all day. Tsk, let's just say that he's putting on an image right now because he's just dating you but what if you guys have a longer and longer life? Slowly human nature will be revealed if we've known him for too long, right?"

Kelly smiled and nodded. "Maybe I'll get used to it, Om, because people are more comfortable when they are doing and being themselves. The important thing is not to forget to be responsible and kind, that's more than enough."

"Hmm, what if he likes another woman?"

Alan seemed to stare flatly at his father's face, the man's hat unconcerned and continued to stare at Kelly for an answer to his question.

"I don't know, maybe when I have a child then I will stay for my child's sake. If she doesn't have kids then I'll leave her. It all depends on how he is because if he does find comfort and happiness from other women I also won't force him to stay with me. Humans have boredom, I think it's normal."

Alan sighed softly at that, feeling annoyed at his father even though he knew that this man would definitely test Kelly. But was there no other test? Why say words that Kelly would be overthinking all night?

She knew that her father approved of them but it was annoying to see this man's behavior. He seemed to be intentionally upsetting Alan because they rarely teased each other.
