Chapter 95: Pull

A brother sat down next to me. I casually looked over at him as I devoured a chicken wing. He was a giant. His jawbone was large, just like the rest of him. He was taller than Liam by at least six inches, but he was thinner. The muscle on him looked wiry. He was still attractive in his own way, but he didn't have the same charisma Liam did.
I laughed to myself. It wasn't like orcs had charisma, but there was something about Liam that was amicable, downright kind for an orc. The others I had interacted with seemed harsh and blunt, but I couldn't blame them.
"Beloved, if you don't mind." He held out his hand to me.
"What's your name?"
"Troy."
"Nice to meet you, Troy." I set my fingers on his hand and pulled some energy.
He relaxed back in the chair. I continued with my meal. I finished another three chicken wings before I realized I was still pulling. His moans drew my attention. I think I pulled a little too much because he was practically humping the chair. I withdrew my hand quickly.
"Sorry," I murmured.
He sighed pleasantly. "No need to be sorry," he said. "That was fantastic, thank you. I should be so lucky."
"No problem."
After a few more minutes, he got himself under control and wandered off. He was immediately replaced with the next love junkie.
"Name?"
"Garin."
I was going to need a notebook to keep these guys all straight. I pulled at his energy. This time I kept it short and quick. He came anyway. Well, I'm sure that's what he wanted. I snacked on some French fries.
A woman sat down next to me. "Beloved?" She asked.
I held out my hand. I had never done it to a woman before. She took my hand.
"Name?" I asked.
"Enid Chaise," she said. Her voice was light and delicate.
"Are you a brother... or sister, I guess?" I looked at her leather jacket. It seemed to be her size, so I assumed it wasn't someone she was dating.
"Yes, sister is fine."
"I haven't seen you in here before. Or any woman in jackets so far."
She nodded. "We were out on a mission."
"Mission?"
"We bring food and supplies out to the front lines. We also infiltrate other gangs and make surprise raids on other territories. There aren't as many women as men around here, but we are much more important."
"Seems so. These guys are just the brute force, right?"
She cocked her head to the side. "I guess so. They just don't tend to be as good with the people as a whole. That's why Matei and now Liam gave us this task. I would rather be on the frontlines, though. Maybe you can make that change now that you are here to take his place."
I waved my French fry at here. "I'm not here to take over. I just want to help."
She studied me for a long moment. "Wouldn't being our leader be helpful? Not that Liam is doing a bad job, but he's an orc. He doesn't have any power. It will be too easy to lose his position."
"Oh..." I was finally starting to see how it all worked. I needed to be in charge because, apparently, I had more power than anyone else here. I looked around the bar.
"What can you do?"
She gave me a quizzical look.
"You look human, but you are part something else. What is it?"
"Oh, I'm a hobgoblin."
I frowned.
"I can run really fast."
"Oh. Cool."
She smiled then stared at me expectantly.
"Oh, right." I tightened my fingers around her hand. "Here you go."
I pulled power from her. She eased back into the chair. I really needed to find a better place to do this. My eyes scanned the second level. There were a bunch of booths and tables. It expanded more over the back of the bar, but it was too dark to see. Maybe that would be a more private place for this.
Enid started to squirm in her seat as she sighed with pleasure. Her face contorted with each little orgasm. I felt a little embarrassed for her. I didn't mind watching the men, but watching her made me feel a bit uncomfortable. Women were nice and everything, but it didn't really turn me on.
I did notice that she lasted longer than the men. She held on to me, so I couldn't even let her go. It was almost as if she was pushing her energy into me to make her orgasm better. I just pulled harder until she was writhing in her seat. I cut the connection after a loud moan.
A few heads turned our way. I just ducked my head and finished up my French fries. I definitely needed to find a better place for this.
Enid let out a breathy sigh. "Thanks." She wandered off.
I finished up my last plate of food and pushed it away from me. I was feeling much better, but watching all of these people get off was making me a little jealous. I wish it were that easy for me. My eyes scanned the bar, which had filled up considerably since I first sat down. Cherry had come in, but she worked at the bar across the room. I could just barely see her honey-blonde curls between all the people.
The music turned on to a nice heavy beat. It was more club-like than the other nights, but I realized it was Friday. As I watched, the lights dimmed, and the dance floor filled. People danced close to one another, grinding their body parts together.
I slid off the barstool and hobbled up the stairs over the bar closest to me. The booths spread out along both sides with the rail overlooking the dance floor. Brothers and sisters alike smiled at me as I hobbled past. I held out my hand and pulled little bits of energy as they touched me. It was the least I could do. I liked their energy anyway. It was fresh and clean, filling up that emptiness inside me. I was slowly recharging. The trouble was, what disaster would I have to clean up next?
