Chapter 16 Just Give Me Ursula

"What, what?" Ursula's complexion turned even paler, her legs became a bit stiff.

"Ah, I'm just joking!" Dylan laughed teasingly, asserting, "No way, Matthew is such a catch. If you two were together, you’d definitely fall head over heels for him, and I love him too much to let you have him!"

Ursula forced a smile.

How was she to tell Dylan that she had fallen for Matthew years ago?

Accidentally, the chain on Ursula's wrist pricked the back of Dylan's hand. She looked down in surprise, her voice was filled with wonder: "Oh, a Tiffany's limited edition Eternal Dream? Ursula, you actually splurged on something so expensive? I remember when you bought that YSL bag you were agonizing over it for months!"

"I'm making more money now, so I buy what I like when I see it," Ursula said vaguely, trying to hide her hand behind her back, but Dylan grabbed it eagerly, saying, "Since that's the case, how about you give it to me? I really like it!"

"That's not a good idea," Ursula blurted out, noticing Dylan's stunned expression, she quickly explained, "I'm quite fond of it as well, so I don't want to part with it. Next time I find a nice one, I’ll buy it for you, how's that?"
"Ursula, just give it to me!" Dylan pleaded, tugging at her arm, "You never wear these jewelry, and in a few days, they'll just end up collecting dust in a drawer. I really love it. Can you give it to me, please?"

Ursula knew she owed a lot to Dylan, and even if he had asked for money, she would have given it too. But the item in question was the only thing she had left from her split with that man, and she secretly hoped to keep it forever.

"Dylan, I'm sorry, but I really can't give this to you."

"You've changed, Ursula. You used to give me anything I wanted." Dylan seemed upset but then waved it off, "Never mind, never mind. If you like it that much, keep it!"

"Okay." Ursula nodded.

After waving goodbye to Dylan, Ursula shared a quiet ride back with Timothy. No words were exchanged between them during the journey.

Timothy reached out and grasped Ursula's hand firmly, "I hate seeing you so down all the time. If you don't want to, how about we take a trip to Atherstone River, hmm?"

"It's okay, a trip out will be nice," Ursula smiled, her heart warmed by his thoughtfulness; "Besides, Dylan just got back and he doesn't have many friends here. He needs me."

Timothy forced a smiled, trying to resist the urge to pull his hand away. For a moment, he almost thought he was talking to Matthew not Ursula .

But that man wouldn't give her such gentle smiles .

On the weekend, bathed in brilliant sunshine, Dylan called Ursula early, saying he was nearly there.

When Ursula and Timothy came downstairs after getting ready, they saw a black Maybach parked below. Dylan waved with a big smile, "Good morning, Ursula and Timothy!"

They had planned to visit a museum, then have a picnic, but Dylan saw something about Rural Retreat on social media and suggested a change of plans. Ursula and Timothy had no objections, and off they went to Rural Retreat.

Dylan and Ursula sat in the back, snacking and joking about the day they took Matthew home "My parents adore Matthew, especially my dad, who was with him all afternoon and left me out in the cold."

Because they were Dylan's parents, so even horrible things happened before, now everything is forgiven?
