Chapter 9: Ursula, you really don't have a boyfriend?
"Ursula?" Just as Ursula was lost in thought, a pleasant and familiar melodious male voice reached her ears.
Before she had a chance to look up, she heard Dylan exclaim, "Oh my god, Timothy Walker? Didn't you move to England? How come you're suddenly back?"
"My maternal grandfather has been unwell, so I came back to care for him and to attend the School Anniversary."
Ursula clutched her cup tightly, and after a long while, finally lifted her head to greet the man before her. "Long time no see."
Timothy, dressed casually in a sapphire blue shirt with his suit jacket draped over his arm, looked relaxed and carefree with a smile on his face. His sparkling eyes were fixed on Ursula as he said, "Yes, long time no see."
"Hey, hey, Timothy, that's not very nice of you," Dylan leaned in and rolled her eyes at him. "You haven't even answered my question, and the moment you see Ursula, you can't take your eyes off her. What kind of behavior is that?"
Ursula's face reddened, and she felt awkward.
Both Timothy and Matthew were top students from the Law Department, and back then, they were the most talked-about among the girls. Who would have thought that these two heartthrobs would both be swept up by the girls from the Finance Department?
Dylan had won over Matthew, and they were in a sweet relationship. However, Ursula hadn't accepted Timothy.
Back then, her mind was totally about by Matthew. When Timothy confessed his feelings, she directly turned him down. Timothy felt there was something else, so he told her, "Even if you like him, it's no use. He's Dylan's boyfriend now."
Ursula gave a wry smile, "It's okay. You don't have to express your feelings for someone you like."
Timothy said nothing more.
Later, due to family reasons, Timothy moved to England. Many girls thought Ursula had hurt him, which led him to leave the country. They cursed her behind her back and insulted her on the school's BBS forum.
"No way!" Timothy chuckled. "I just didn't expect our school Top 1 beauty, Ursula, to become even more stunning after three years, that’s why I couldn’t recognize you, don’t be mad for that please!"
That comment lightened Dylan's mood somewhat.
Once Timothy sat down at the back, Dylan immediately went to Ursula's side and whispered, "Hey Ursula, you're single now and Timothy's back. Why not consider reigniting that old spark?"
If it had been any other time, Ursula would have flat-out refused. But this time was different. She glanced back out of the corner of her eye, not clearly showing what she was looking at, and hummed in agreement, "Sure, it's worth a try."
"Got smart finally, eh?" Dylan snickered, seeming to catch onto Ursula's subtle intentions. "So you've finally noticed Timothy's qualities. It'd be a shame to miss out on a guy like that!"
Ursula agreed and laughed along with her.
Almost everyone from the Finance Department of Ursula's year had come to the reunion, filling up three large tables. The atmosphere was as warm and friendly as in their college days.
Most classmates were married, and unmarried individuals like Dylan and Ursula were the exceptions, becoming the butt of friendly jokes. Suddenly, a classmate said,
"Wait a second, Ursula! The last time I took my son to Oceanarium Boulevard, I saw you with a guy." The classmate looked at her suspiciously and teased her, "You wouldn't happen to have a boyfriend that you're hiding from us, would you?"
"Just a friend," Ursula replied coolly, and was relieved that the classmate hadn't seen Matthew's face. "He was visiting Bellariva, and I was simply showing him around Oceanarium Boulevard. He's not my boyfriend."
