Chapter 16

Screaming, that’s all that was heard around the forest. A woman was placed down on the ground as she screamed in pain. “Almost there.” Juliet, the woman’s friend said as she held her legs.
“You just need to relax and push.” Juliet voiced while the woman glared at her.
“How am I suppose to relax when I have a human being inside of me wanting to come out.” The woman yelled in annoyance, trying her hardest to breathe.
“Merida, you need to push!” Juliet told her, seeing the baby’s head coming out. Merida nodded and took a deep breath before she started pushing. She screamed as sweat dripped down her forehead.
Finally after what seemed like decades, the baby was born and a soft cry came out of his tiny mouth. Merida smiled, tears of joy now falling down her face. Merida and her friend Juliet looked around surprised, seeing all types of animals surrounding them, while flowers had also sprouted in a circle around them.

”Mother?” A 5 year old boy called, running to his mother.
“What is it Abius?” Marida, the boys mother asked, kneeling in front of him so she stood at his eye level.
“I found a bird on the ground. He’s injured.” He informed, showing his mother a small blue feathered bird with a broken wing.
“What is it that you want me to do with him, Abius?” His mother asked while the boy just shrugged, looking at her sadly.
“I was hoping you could help him.” Abius said, with a frown on his face.
“I can’t, now go put him back where you found him and come wash up for supper.” Abius nodded, listening to his mother and ran back to where he had found the bird, he placed the bird on the ground and held back tears.
“Fly away, little birdy.” Abius said quietly and then placed his hands over the bird. He felt an energy leave his body and gasped. He quickly got up and backed away, seeing the bird flying with both his wings.

I cried out in pain, unable to handle Hann's sharp fangs ripping my flesh as he continued to bite me. I felt myself getting weak and closed my eyes. Hann groaned, letting go of me and fell to his knees, screaming in pain while also gripping his head. I quickly brought my hands up to my neck and slid down the wall, crying as blood kept oozing out. Why does this shit hurt so bad? Oh my fucking God.
“Are you okay?” I looked up and saw Nina walking towards me. Nina? What was she doing here? And what did she do to Hann?
“No, it hurts.” I told her, tightly gripping my neck, afraid I was going to bleed to death. I take back what I said about dying? I didn’t want a painful death.
“I take it you’ve never been bit by one before.” She said, helping me up and I looked over at Hann, seeing him passed out on the floor.
“What did you do to him?” I asked confused, she removed my hand from my neck and placed hers on top. She mumbled something and my neck was soon healed. What the hell? What kind of vampire was she? Was she even a vampire? Was she like Hann? With different abilities?
“What are you?” I asked, staring at her shocked. She healed my wounds and she knocked Hann out without even using her body. She only used her words. How was that even possible?
“I’m a witch, don’t tell me you only thought vampires lived here?” She asked, laughing. Witch? I’ve read about witches but I didn’t know they existed. Kevin never really told me anything about witches. He’s only ever mentioned vampires. Did he know about them?
“W-witch?” I asked shocked and looked at Hann. So she used a spell on him and on my wounds. Well now it made sense.
“Oh, don’t worry about him. He’ll live.” She said and walked away. I was so confused, I had thought this world belonged to vampires and vampires only. were there others here too? And did that mean not everyone here was a vampire?
“Why did you help me?” I asked, following after her, completely forgetting about going to class. I mean, come on, I just met a witch. A witch! I’m mind fucking blown right now. I had so much to learn. Kevin better not be keeping secrets from me. I’ll fucking kill him if I find out that he knew about witches and didn’t tell me shit.
“Because, I know who you are and he would’ve killed you.” She explained while I looked at her shocked once again. She was full of surprises. No wonder she was different. Oh my God. Was Christian a witch too?
“What do you mean?” I asked and she turned to look at me. Did she know I was a human?
”I know you’re a hunter.” She said and I bit my lips unaware of what to say or do. I didn’t know what was worse, finding out I was a human or finding out I was a hunter. But she was a witch, I wasn’t exactly after her.
“Don’t worry, you’re secret is safe with me.” She said smiling. Was it really though? I mean, she saved me but that doesn’t me I trusted her. But then again, she wouldn’t have saved me if she was just going to tell the whole world that a vampire hunter was here. I sighed and looked at her.
“Thank you.” Was all I said. I didn’t know what else to say. She knew my true identity now. She could get in the way of my mission if she wanted to. She could try to stop me.
“Just be careful.” She told me and I nodded. I watched as she walked into her class room. I turned back around and then walked out of the school. I wasn’t going back to class. What if Hann woke up and tried to kill me again. I needed to leave and prepare myself. I needed to get stronger. I pulled my phone and searched for Haruna’s number.
The deal is over.
I texted her, as I walked home. I still had blood all over my neck and it bothered me. I used my hair to cover it but it only made it worse as it got stuck to my neck.
What do you mean over?
She responded and I groaned annoyed, looking around and making sure no one was outside.
Hann bit me.
I texted her back before muting her messages.
