Chapter 22

School soon came to an end and I quickly got out, ignoring everyone. I walked towards the parking lot and looked around for Kevin but he wasn’t here yet. I pulled out my phone to text him but before I could press send, I was grabbed and dragged in full speed. I dropped my phone and screamed, not fully understanding what was going on.
I gasped and closed my eyes as I went flying to the ground. Holy fuck! I groaned in pain and looked around me. I was in the woods, what the hell just happened? I looked up and gasped seeing Haruna in front of me.
“Haruna? What the hell are you doing?” I questioned, getting up. I winced in pain, my elbows hurting. Both of them. I lifted them up and saw blood. Fuck. Of course I was bleeding in front of a vampire right now.
“Proving to you that I am not my brother.” She stated, making me scoff. Not her brother? What ever she did to me was pretty close.
“You dragged me here and threw me to the ground, hurting me in the process and yet you want me to believe that you’re nothing like him?” I questioned, getting annoyed and uncomfortable. Haruna sighed and moved towards me but I backed away, causing her to stop.
“I’m not going to hurt you.” She said and I scoffed, raising my elbows up to show her that they were bleeding and that I was hurt because of her.
“You already did.” I raised my voice at her and she looked away. Guilt written all over her face. Why was she feeling guilty? She did it on purpose. She could’ve asked me to talk but she decided to use her abilities and hurt me in the process.
“I’m sorry. It’s been a long time since I dealt with a human, I forgot how fragile they were.” Human? Oh my god, what? She knew? But how? Did everyone know? Did Hann know? I’m sure he did. He remembered seeing me in the human world. Of course he knew. I was so stupid for forgetting all about that.
“How did you know?” I asked her. Hann must’ve told her, did she also know that I was a hunter? Was my cover blown? Shit! Kevin was going to kill me if he found out that the Choi family knew about us.
“I am an original vampire, first vampire to ever be created, did you really think that fancy jewelry of yours can hide your scent from me?” She questioned and I looked down at my bracelet before looking up at her again. Fuck!

“I am an original vampire, first vampire to ever be created, did you really think that fancy jewelry of yours can hide your scent from me?” I was lying, I wasn’t able to tell the difference. My senses were to weak, I was surprised I was even able to vamp speed with Cassia.
“Does Hann know?” She questioned and I nodded. I wasn’t sure if she was human or not. After Hann told me, I wanted to see for myself and she confirmed it. Her bracelet was lanced in magic along with her necklace, so I figured one of them had to be the reason why her scent was covered.
Hann was able to tell whether she was a human or a vampire due to being stronger. He secretly feed on human blood, while everyone else feed on animal blood. Everyone except my parents. They needed to be stronger in order to rule. Hann hated being weak. He would take blood from our father’s stash and drink it. I, on the other hand, hated human blood. I hated everything about being a vampire. That was why I was weaker even as an original vampire.
“I don’t understand, if both of you knew, how come you didn’t do anything about it?” She questioned and I shrugged, I didn’t know until now. She didn’t belong here, but I didn’t care. I considered her my friend, human or not.
“I didn’t really care. Hann on the other hand, you’d have to ask him, himself.” She bit her lip, and looked down at her bleeding elbows. I didn’t mean to hurt her at all. I got weaker after I vamp speeded with her and lost my balance which caused her to get hurt.
“You’re still bleeding.” I told her, looking at her blood did nothing to me. I had gotten so used to animal blood that human blood had no affect on me. Instead, I gagged at the thought of drinking from them. It tasted better but I wasn’t able to do it. I hated it.
“Yeah, no shit.” She said, keeping her distance. Did she think I was going to hurt her because of her blood? I really didn’t care for it. All I wanted to do was help her since it was my fault.
“I can help you with that.” I suggested, moving towards her but she backed away again. Seriously, this was getting annoying. If I wanted to drink from her she’d be dead right now.
“I don’t trust you.” She stated and I stopped. Was she scared of me? If she was, I don’t blame her. She was human after all but why would she come here and then be scared? She had to know the danger she was putting herself in. If my father found out about her he’d have her drained completely dry.
“You’re losing to much blood, just let me help you.” I told her, seeing as more blood kept dripping down to the ground.
“How are you going to help me?” She yelled and I closed my eyes, breathing in deeply. Ignoring the fact that she was yelling at me right now when I was just trying to help her. I get that she was scared or angry at me but I haven’t done anything else to her. She had no reason to react the way she did.
“My blood can heal you.” I told her and she stared at me. Hesitating. Vampire blood was able to heal humans, I wasn’t sure if mine would heal her but I still wanted to try. She then nodded and I smiled. I bit my wrist and moved closer to her.
“Take it.” She looked down at my bleeding wrist and then back up at me. She looked disgusted, I rolled my eyes, feeling the same way towards her own blood.
“You want my blood or not?” I asked, getting annoyed. She grabbed my wrist and took a deep breath before drinking from it. After a while she let go and started gagging.
“God, that was gross.” I looked at her elbows and smiled watching it heal, while my wrist kept on bleeding. It took me longer to heal since I feed on animal blood. It was as close to being human as I could, which I actually didn’t mind. I missed being human.
“Shouldn’t you be healing too?” Cassia questioned, looking down at my wrist and I shrugged. I’m assuming she didn’t know the difference between human blood and animal blood. She will learn eventually, if she stayed here long enough.
“I will, eventually.” I answered her and she nodded. She went back to being quiet and I sighed. She could’ve said thank you at least.
“Are you still mad at me?” I questioned, my wrist finally healing. She looked at my wrist for a little bit and then back down at her hands.
”Yes.” She said quietly. I sighed and sat down on the ground. Cassia looked at me and did the same.
“I’ll forgive you, if you help me get revenge on your brother.” She said and I jumped up, smiling. Revenge on Hann? Of course, I would love that. He had it coming anyway. But it would have to wait considering tomorrow is Friday and I would be occupied most of the day.
“Sure, but can we wait until Monday?” I asked and she got up, looking at me confused. Did she not know? I’m sure she saw some posters at the school. It was everywhere, unless she didn’t care to pay attention to it.
“Since summer break starts in two weeks, the school is holding together a dance party on Friday.” I told her, getting a bit too excited. We could go shopping together and I could help her get ready.
“This Friday?” I nodded, smiling. “As in tomorrow?” She questioned again and I nodded once again. She really didn’t now? I guess this was my chance to invite her to go with me. She was the only one I considered a friend and going with her would’ve been fun.
“Yes and we should go together.” I told her and she looked at me weird. I was suppose to ask her to go with me but after everything that had happened I didn’t know if she would. Especially since she was mad at me.
“No thank you. I don’t go to those kind of things.” She said, causing my smile to drop. She didn’t like school dances? Why? They were honestly the best. She had to go! I wanted to be there with her. Maybe I could try to convince her to go? She did want my help to get revenge on Hann.
“Please.” She glared at me and turned to walk away. I rolled my eyes and followed after her. She was so hard to please and deal with.
“Why would I go with you? Like I said, I don’t trust you and I don’t like dances.” She stated and I sighed stopping and turning the other way. She was going the wrong way anyway.
“Then I guess you don’t want me to help you get revenge.” She quickly turned around and followed after me. I smirked and turned to look at her. I watched as her nose flared in annoyance. She actually looked adorable.
“Fine. But I’m still mad at you.” She stated and I nodded, smiling at her. I was okay with that, for now.
