Chapter 24

“Elijah?” Cassia questioned, turning to look at the young man who had covered her eyes from behind.
“Missed me?” He questioned, smiling down at her. Cassia smiled, hearing his voice. She turned around and jumped in his arms, embracing him tightly.
“Where have you been?” She asked, her smile dropping as she pulled away to look at him. He had been gone for over a week. Elijah looked at her sadly and sighed, caressing her cheeks softly. He hated seeing her upset or sad.
“My mother knows about us, Cassia. She had trapped me inside the house so I wouldn’t come see you.” Elijah informed her and Cassia backed away feeling hurt. She didn't expect his mother to be so cruel.
“Why must she reject our love? Does she not see that we belong together.” Cassia asked hurt and feeling slightly upset. She hated the fact that Elijah had to hide her and keep their love a secret. And she hated how his mother controlled him. He was a grown man but yet he acted like a teenager, always afraid of his mother.
“Calm down, love. She will come around eventually.” Elijah said softly, moving towards her but she backed away from him.
“No, Elijah. She will not. I do not wish to live like this anymore.” Cassia told him, all of her emotions taking over. Elijah bit his lip, knowing how angry and violent she could get. He needed to keep her calm.
“Love, you must calm down.” Cassia ignored him, pacing back and forth. She was feeling unease by what was happening. She knew she was going to lose him if she didn't do anything soon.
“No, Elijah. You are to be married soon. Your mother does not want you with me.” She said to him, angry tears now falling down her face.
“We must stop her.” She continued, Elijah moved towards her and grabbed her hand, but she quickly pulled away. She did not want comfort.
“Do not try and comfort me right now.” She said, looking at him.
“We can not stop her. You know what she is.” Elijah told her, being patient with her. Elijah’s mother was a witch, she was the only one in their village. No one knew of her powers expect Cassia.
”I do not care. You are mine. I refuse to let you marry that pathetic excuse of a woman.” Elijah laughed, looking at her.
“Why are you laughing?” Cassia questioned, feeling slightly offended by his laugh.
“You’re beautiful.” He told her and she rolled her eyes, hiding her smile.

I looked around, searching for Cassia. She had disappeared. The music was to loud, I knew she wouldn’t hear me if I called out to her. I tried calling her phone but it went straight to voicemail. I left the gym and started wondering around, hoping she was still inside the building.
“Hann?” I questioned, seeing him walking down the hall. He turned around and smirked. His shirt was unbuttoned at the top and he was holding his tie and suit jacket. What was he doing?
“Hey little sis.” He said, walking towards me and I backed away. His eyes weren’t Hann’s, Abius had taken over. What had Abius done this time?
“Why aren’t you at the party?” I questioned and he shrugged, licking his lips and smirking again. He has done something. That’s why he was looking at me like that.
“Had some things to take care of.” He answered, he was fully in control. Something big must’ve happened for Hann to lose control. He’s never given Abius full control like this and if Abius was in full control, nobody could stop him except Hann.
”Why aren’t you at the party?” He questioned, I knew he wouldn’t hurt me, but I was still scared. He could easily hurt me if he wanted too. Hann wasn’t aware of what he was doing so he couldn’t stop Abius from doing what ever he wanted.
“I’m just looking for Cassia.” I answered him and he scoffed, moving towards me. I sucked in a breath watching him. His eyes were pitch black. There was a hint of red but it was mostly black.
“Why? She’s not your friend.” He told me getting in my face. Why wasn’t Hann fighting for control? Why was he letting Abius take over? I hope he didn’t hurt Cassia. I’m sure he also hated Cassia. What ever Hann felt, Abius felt it 10 times worse.
“It doesn’t matter, she came with me so I’m looking for her.” I told him and he nodded, backing away from me. He looked me up and down and nodded again.
“Okay. Well, hope you find her.” He said, smirking and turned to walk away and towards the gym. A part of me wanted to follow him in case he did something stupid but another part wanted to keep looking for Cassia. I had a feeling that he might’ve done something to her. I hoped not. I sighed and walked further down the hall. I focused on Cassia and tried to see if I could find her. I was able to pick up on a scent. Very faint. The scent was different so I knew it wasn’t her but it somehow reminded me of Christian’s. I decided to followed where it came from and stopped in front of the principal’s office. The door was slightly opened. I pushed it all the way opened and gasped.
“Cassia?” Oh my God, I rushed towards her and looked around. She was naked, her clothes were all ripped and she had bruises all over her legs. Fuck! No way! Her neck had dried blood on it which meant she had been bit. But why was she naked? Was she raped? Did Abius do this? I checked for a heart beat and sighed in relief, she was alive. I looked around and saw her phone on the table. I grabbed it and opened it, she kept her phone unlocked? I searched for Kevin’s number and called him. Cassia had told me about him. He was her older brother.
“What’s up?” He answered.
“Hey, it’s Haruna. Cassia is hurt.”
