Chapter 29

• Cassia •

I angrily closed the door shut behind me and walked up to Kevin’s room. “Cassia, I’ve been trying to-“ I cut him off and pulled him to me as I bit down on his neck. He groaned in pain as I ripped open his flesh. Oh, did I forget to mention that my bite was also lethal to werewolves? Since I was the one who created them and gave birth to them, that was one of nature’s loop holes. I gave them life but I could also take it away with just one bite. My venom was stronger than other werewolves.

“Fuck.” He said, looking up at me as he fell on his knees to the ground. I moved closer to him and grabbed him by his hair, tilting his head to the side so his wound was visible to me.

“I turned you, not because I wanted to but because you begged me too. You begged me to save your pathetic little human life. I was stupid enough to actually care for you. I could easily kill you right now, but I won’t. I need you and I need the pack, so where the fuck are they?” I questioned, no longer in the mood for his bull shit. I’ve had enough, I wasn’t able to kill Hann. I had to just walk away and that angered me. Angered me because I couldn’t do anything and it angered my wolf because I wasn’t with him. She needed to get a grip. Hann was a vampire and werewolves could not be mated to vampires. They were dead. They had no soul for a werewolf to be mated too. I sighed, I was strong on my own but I needed a pack to be stronger.

“Dead.” He said, grabbing my hand and trying to removing it from his hair. I gripped tighter on to it and pulled him even closer to me.

“You killed them?” I asked, my heart tightening at the thought of them being dead. The pack was my family. They were the only ones I had. My parents had died of old age in 557 AD, they lived a good life. I made sure of that. My parents weren’t killed by vampires, that was the pathetic human life I was forced to live and believe because of Kevin.

“Yes, they turned against me after I had put the sleeping spell on you so I killed them. I became a lone wolf in search of other packs. But I wasn’t able to find any, that was why I woke you up 3 years ago.” I looked at him, tears building up in my eyes. I roughly pushed him away from me and left his room. Of course he had killed them, they were loyal to me.

They protected me and once they had found out that I was in danger they must’ve tried to save me. There were 50 of us in the pack. 5 were my own children who grew up and triggered their curse once they turned 21 making them immortals while their mates were humans that I had turned in order for them to be immortals together. They then gave birth to pure bloods who also fell in love with humans. The pack consisted of both pure bloods and half bloods.

I felt tears rolling down my face and quickly wiped them. Crying wasn’t going to bring them back. I just needed a new pack. I was the alpha after all.

“Are you just going to let me die?” Kevin yelled from upstairs. I ignored him and left the house once again. I stopped bumping into someone. I looked up and smiled. His scent was strong, he was a pure blood.

“You’re a werewolf?”

• Hann •

“Father, please.” I begged, as he chained me up to the wall in our basement. He was working with a witch. That was how he was able to use them to weakened me. He had to let me go earlier in order to go get the cure for Haruna but of course, I had to came back here. The witch had put a spell on me which allowed me to leave but if I wasn’t back in an hour I was going to suffer the consequences. What ever that meant. I was going to come back regardless. I wasn't going to let my little sister die.

“I’m sorry Hann, this is the only way I can keep you safe.” He said, making me scoff. He finished chaining me up and backed away. The witch came back and stood next to him. I wasn't even surprised by what he had done. I knew he was working with witches, he was the king because of them. What I hadn't expect was for him to try and lie about it.

“Keep me safe? I’m like this because of you.” I told him, yanking at the chain. The witch started chanting and the mark she had placed on my arm disappeared.

”Everything I did was to protect this family, it was to keep us safe.” Father informed as the witch walked out of the room, leaving just the two of us.

”You really expect me to believe that?” I questioned right when I felt a sharp pain on my chest. I groaned and looked down seeing blood seeping through my shirt. Fuck! Was I still connected to Cassia?

“What’s going on? Why are you bleeding?” Father asked, sounding alert as he looked around confused. Was this not his doing?

“You didn’t do this?” I questioned as the wound healed. Father looked at me and moved closer.

“No I didn’t. Why would I hurt you?” I opened my mouth to answer him but screamed in pain. My chest felt like it was being ripped open. Cassia was in danger. That was the only explanation for what was happening right now.

“Father, let me go.” I yelled but he just moved backed. Fear and confusion written all over his face. He quckly called for the witch and she came running in. She looked at me and moved closer, she grabbed my head and started chanting.
