Chapter Twenty One

The week went by quickly and Friday came in a twinkle of an eye. The ball according to Constantine was held in the biggest event center in the city and his parents were hosting it and he told me he will send a driver to pick me up.

I was nervous about meeting his parents, I didn't know what to expect. I've never been introduced to a guy's parents and I did not know if they will like me. I know Constantine and I were not in a relationship but I couldn't help but feel nervous.

I called Mandy over so she would help me choose a suitable dress for this event. There will be a lot of rich elites at this event and I didn't want to be left out. She ransacked my wardrobe and I saw clothes I can't even remember buying, she brought some of her clothes for me to try although I am slightly bigger than her.

"I found the perfect dress for you Euli" she was showing me a long sleeveless royal blue dress with a low neckline and a high slit reaching my thighs, the dress was decorated with pearls.

"I didn't even know I had this kind of dress in my wardrobe"

"Constantine won't be able to take his eyes off you same with the other men attending the ball. Constantine would have to do a lot of work to keep those eyes away from you."

I laughed at her statement

"I wish I could go there. I know I'll meet all those celebrities I've been dying to see"

"I wish you could too"

"Nevertheless I want you to enjoy yourself to the fullest. Remember to smile when you are being spoken to even if the person talking is trying to intimidate you"

"Yes mum"

"Now sit down while I transform you into a Princess"

I sat on the chair while Mandy performed her magic on me, she curled my hair and applied makeup. When I looked at myself in the mirror I was dumbfounded, I looked different. I wasn't a make-up person but this one was on another level. I looked like a Disney princess.

"Thank you, Mandy. I really look like a princess" I hugged her.

The honking of a car made us pull away from each other

"My ride is here," I said

"C'mon it's nothing, you know I can do anything for you. Now put on your dress and go get your prince charming" she said grinning

I wore my dress and shoe with assistance from Mandy, I took my purse from the table

"Remember you are not fully dressed without a smile."

"I know"

"Don't forget to use protection" she shouted

"I know mum"

The driver was waiting for me in the car. He came with an Audi.

"Good evening ma'am" he greeted

"Good evening. What's your name?"

"My name is William"

"Nice name" I complimented

He opened the back seat for me to enter

"Thank you"

"It's a pleasure"

The engine roared and he drove off. The car ride was silent but I was chatting with Constantine.

Constantine: Has the driver arrived?

Me: Yes, we are on our way. Is the venue far?

Constantine: No sweetheart, you'll be here before you know it. I can't wait to see you

I smiled at the emoji he added at the end

Me: Same here

Constantine: I'll be waiting for you outside

I can't wait to get there already.

"We've arrived ma" the driver announced

I saw Constantine at the entrance waiting he was dressed in a tailored Armani suit.

The driver stepped out to open the door for me but he was stopped by Constantine

"I'll take it from here. You can retire for the night"

He offered me his hand which I gladly took stepping out of the car.

"You look stunning" I blushed at his compliment

"Thank you and you don't look bad yourself"

"I don't think I'll be able to keep my hands off you"

"You have to, they are plenty of people around and you don't want to be on the news for not being able to keep your hands off"

"Don't leave my sight for a second. Let's go inside I want you to meet my parents. Shall we?"

He put his hand on the small of my back and led me inside. The inside was more beautiful than the outside, the decoration and the lightning looked rich and expensive. The place was filled with men in suits and women in dinner gowns. The place just screamed Wealth.

"Dad and mum" a middle-aged couple turned around, they were holding each other and Constantine spoke

"Meet Eulalia, my date" he introduced

My cheeks flushed when he called me his date.

"Your welcome Eulalia," he said kissing me on both cheeks

His mother had a huge smile on her face "it's nice to meet you, this is the first time my son is bringing a decent lady that doesn't look like a fake plastic doll"

"Mum" Constantine whined

She pulled me into a tight hug, it was like she was trying to squeeze the life out of me. I was glad that they liked me

"Mum, the hug is enough you might squeeze the life out of her" Constantine saved me

"Are you jealous son?"

"Me!!!, jealous c'mon mum. You are making her uncomfortable with your hug"

"Is it true darling?" She said faking hurt

"No, not at all ma'am".

"I'm stealing her away" he held my hands and took me to a seat. A waiter came and served is champagne

We were sipping our wine when a man approached us.

"Good evening Mr. Rodriquez, long time no see"

Constantine did not acknowledge his greeting

"Your last collection was a success and we are all waiting for the release of your next line. When should we expect it?"

"When it is released you will know. Now if you'll excuse us we need to be somewhere else. Would you love to dance"

I nodded. He led me to the dance floor where other couples were already dancing. He held my waist while I put my hand on his shoulder as we moved our bodies in sync with the music.

"Why were you rude to that man"

"He's from the rival company and if he knows I'm about to release a new collection he will try his possible best to make sure it doesn't pull through. Let's not talk about him again and enjoy our night"
