Chapter Forty

Francis had a lot of explaining to do. I banged on my father's door with so much force that it might pull the door down. My dad opened the door

"Is someone chasing you? Why are you banging on the door like that" I ignored his question

"Where is Francis?"

"He's inside. You didn't answer my question, why were you banging on the door like that?"

"Dad, not now" I walked past my father and started shouting his name

"Francis, Francis, Francis" I shouted "You better come down here before I drag your ass here, you lying bastard"

"Euli, why are you calling your brother names. Is there a problem?"

"Just stay out of this dad"

Francis was coming down the stairs without a shirt. When he came down the stairs. I walked up to him and punched him in the face. He stumbled back, he was expecting a hug from me.

"Fuck!!!!" He held his face "What was that for?"

"That is for stealing from me?"

"Stealing?" My father's eyes widened

"Why would you do that Fran, I thought you loved me. I thought we told each other everything, how could you choose your some girl over your family" tears flowed through my eyes. I wasn't expecting to get emotional but I couldn't help myself.

"I don't understand what is going on here. Talk to me"

"So..I....I.." my voice was breaking

"Calm down, take a deep breath" my father tried to calm me

"Francis came to visit me last week and he took the designs Constantine and I were working on and he gave it to his girlfriend because she asked him to steal it"

"Wait, wait. Did you say Francis has a girlfriend?"

"Yes he does and he's been hiding her from us"

"This designs what happened to them, what did his girlfriend use it to do"

"Constantine is planning on launching a new line but he didn't want the public to know yet so it was a secret between the both of us. Francis's girlfriend is working for Constantine's rival, that's what it seems like anyway she told Francis to steal them from me"

"I'm so sorry Euli, I didn't have a choice. I didn't mean to hurt you"

"Of course, you had a choice. The choice you had was to tell me, you know you just destroyed my relationship. Constantine is angry with me and doesn't want to see me and I'm jobless now. Are you fucking happy now?"

"I'm disappointed, Francis. I didn't expect this from you" my father said

"Please, I'm very sorry" Francis was on his knees begging

"I can't look at you and still see you the same. I don't even know who you are anymore. Are you really my brother?"

"Don't say that Euli, you know I love you. Just give me one chance to explain it to you. I promise I would tell you everything"

"Don't talk about love here, you don't know what love is. What explanation do you have for this? The only thing clear here is you betrayed your family"

Gabe had walked in when I was ranting.

"What is going on here? Why is Francis on his knees and what is this betrayal you are talking about" everybody remained silent. He turned to my dad

"Dad, what is happening?"

"Ask your sister. She's in a better position to answer your question"

"Euli, what's the problem?"

"Gabe.... Francis took our company designs and gave them to his girlfriend who gave our company rival and they claimed it as theirs"

"Francis has a girlfriend?" He asked surprised

"The same expression I had when she said it"

"And he doesn't even look remorseful"

"I already said I'm sorry what more do you want me to do. I did what I did to save somebody's life and I'll do it over again if I had to" I looked at him with utter shock, he looked like he really meant what he said.

"At the expense of hurting your sister?" my father asked.

"Yes, even if it meant hurting anybody. I would gladly do it again" this was not Francis talking

"What!!!!" Gabe's voice boomed, he looked angry now and Gabe has a hot temper.

"Repeat what you just said" he dared Francis

"I said even if it meant hurting any of you. I would do it....." He didn't get to finish as Gabe punched him in the face which threw him to the floor. Gabe started throwing punches at him as he tried to defend himself.

"Stop Gabe, stop punching him before you kill him," my father said but Gabe did not listen to him. He picked him up from the ground and threw him on the wall. My hands covered my mouth in shock. My father and I just stood there shouting at them to stop throwing punches at each other.

"Gabe stop it" I cried

Gabe choked him like he was trying to strangle him.

"Please I'm begging you Gabe leave your brother, I'll talk to him* my father pleaded

"Gabe, it's alright. He has had enough, do you want to kill him? His face is already bloody"

I was putting Francis, even if I was angry with him. I still loved him and I didn't want him to die yet.

Gabe did not listen to any of us as he continued throwing punches at Francis. Francis tried defending himself but he was too weak to dodge the punches.

"You don't have any mouth to talk now. Stand up and fight me you moron. When I'm done with you, you would wish you never did something like that"

Francis tried to stand on his feet but he ended up falling. Gabe grabbed his hands and twisted them to the back as he threw him on the table

"Stop it now" my father shouted

"It's okay, it's okay" I kept crying

Gabe was kicking Francis on his ribs now.

"Ahh" my father was clutching his chest and I rushed to his side

"Dad, Gabe dad is not feeling well" I screamed. Gabe came back to his senses

"Call 911" he shouted

I brought out my phone and dialed 911.
