Chapter 27
Katherine stared at a man who came and approached her with a guilty face.
"Professor Michael," Katherine said making the man smile and squat down outside the cell. "What are you doing here?"
Professor Michael looked at Katherine's face with a guilt-filled gaze. "We can't help you, I mean I can't help you because there are people who have made all of this more horrible so that you can get into prison. It's not just Mr. Elano who has done this to get you into prison, but there are other people too who have finally made their move. I don't know how they did it, but from the stories I heard, some professors were deliberately instigated and pitted against each other by someone, and I don't know who that person is."
Katherine sighed softly at the despair on her face at the moment. "The law in our country is really difficult to free someone. We've had a hard time in recent years and it's only natural that the government would object to releasing me who has been accused of being a traitor. The important thing is that my mom is out there and can continue living a good life without any involvement. I already feel calmer for not bringing her into this," Katherine said as she closed her eyes and didn't want to say much.
"Do you really know Mr. Elano? I mean do you know his influence? He once explained to you that he is a businessman right?"
Katherine nodded but then she fell silent. "I don't know much about him because I'm not a person who likes collecting other people's business. So far I've thought of him as a person I once helped the rest is not so clear business between me and him. I've never shown his the project results at all but back then when I didn't know him very well and kept inviting him to talk about how to go to the mall, I did show him the project I was working on and he even helped me at that time to explain more about it.
"I don't know how to behave, that project has also failed and I can't be sure of everything. In any case I wasn't sure he would betray like this even though I was disappointed that he just kept quiet when he was about to enter into the same project as me and participate in the activities of the research organization and the invention of modern technology for disaster-proof buildings. Everything he did was enough to make me surprised in all its buzz. He's a man I couldn't have predicted, I don't understand why he had to do this."
Michael could only remain silent as he listened to Katherine's words. If he was asked if he would trust this girl, of course he would because Katherine had been the one who had fought so hard for the life and development of this city so that it could be better able to deal with disasters and the like. She could not have betrayed him but everything that happened was also sudden and shocked him.
The perpetrator's game was very fast and there was not even an intention to allow Katherine to escape because she was immediately imprisoned after the examination of evidence and the like.
Something didn't make sense here, that's why Professor Michael came and deliberately wanted to talk to Katherine to explain what still didn't make sense to her.
"I can't say that it's my fault but other people don't use it so I can't say that I'm the reason why anything other than him is here and I have no evidence. Elano has also left and it seems like he won't want to come back unless you guys can break through for me. But there's no way you will, none of my colleagues believe me either and that makes me even less capable. As long as my mother isn't involved and her is able to have a quiet life, I think that's more than enough because the rest is all going well with nothing to discuss."
Professor Michael knew that there was a great disappointment in Katherine's heart because she had been betrayed by the person she had helped. From the conversation just now, of course, he was able to listen to everything and hear that Katherine had helped Elano. It made Michael wonder who the enemy was that had brought this girl down because it seemed like they were very determined to do so.
"I don't have any other abilities, so it seems that I'll just be a hated person forever. My name won't be cleared if I don't come out in the next week but it doesn't matter as long as you don't harm my mother. I'm completely innocent in this matter and I hope that those who have made me this way feel the love that I feel."
Not wanting to disturb her anymore, Professor Michael decided to leave her alone so that she could feel more at ease. Professor Michael walked quickly out of the cell, got into his flying car and sped off to Katherine's house. There were several things that they could definitely work on for the girl's freedom since she was completely innocent. He was sure that after this, there would be a slight change and bring a good name to the development of Katherine's case that had not yet gone to trial.
Meeting Sonya who was as sad as Katherine but the difference was that they were not in the same place, today she could find the sadness of these two mothers and daughters clearly. If they really intended to betray how could their faces be that sad, they would have been more calm and relaxed had they suddenly been released quickly.
"We might be able to meet with Lord Elano and try to ask for his help. That's the only way we can make things easier. He has a way to drop the charges, if he really had no intention of stealing this project because basically Mr. Elano wasn't alone in doing all this because his men were also involved. We can't just stand by and let things get messy, we need his help just to make a statement if there is something that is being kept secret. It can't be an ordinary game that is the cause of the destruction of the wishes and demands of the coworkers.
"He is already one of the causes and it might become even more severe if we don't ask for his help soon. Madam couldn't possibly want to let Miss Katherine remain in prison and not help her get out? We can only ask for Mr. Elano's help, because if we succeed this could be put to an end soon and Miss Katherine could be free. If we are too late then all this could be prolonged and it might be difficult to get Miss Katherine out. Madame would want Miss Katherine to be free, right?"
Sonya couldn't help but pause at Michael's words to think for a while. She knew that what he said was true, that if she could find information on Elano's whereabouts then she would be able to find it and be able to free her daughter.
But it was not as easy as one would think if the problem was the address.
"I have no idea where Elano's address is. He never told us and we didn't know either because we were home most of the time and rarely saw or talked to him. Because after all, I am a housewife and have no ability to discuss business or research. Because I never participated in the talks and affairs made by Katherine in the research she was doing. I don't know if I'll be able to find her or not why I don't have her address at all."
"I know the address more or less, but it's quite far from here. I'll accompany Madam there because I also don't want Miss Katherine to have to go through all this and get an injustice. She is a good coworker and always puts the people before herself. And with this I can definitely help her and get her off the hook for something she never did."
Sonya nodded slowly. "Then sorry to trouble Mr. Michael, I will remember this service forever."

Katherine, who remained in detention and had no one to visit her, could only remain silent and not say much for fear that the police and this officer would do something to torment her.
She had no evidence, nothing that could get her out of here except for a miracle. She also didn't know what she could do now because she didn't know the outside world either.
Her heart that was rumbling could also only be silent about being able to continue because everything seemed to be something that was currently uncertain what it could be. Katherine only hoped that not many things would become problems in her life.
"Mom is also better off not coming here much, although I'm lonely but at least she won't have the same difficulties as me. I was hoping to bring a good name to her but I made a mess of things by taking the wrong step. I don't know how long I'll be here. The people I've helped won't want to help me if I'm in the deepest slump. I hope I can still bring happiness to myself."
That was all she could do because she basically had no way to get out of this place either. She could only stare ahead and feel stupid being alone because there was no one to help her.
She would only eat when fed, would be quiet when asked to be quiet. Right now she was alone because she had not been transferred to the central prison because she had not yet had her trial either.
She doesn't know how much time has passed. Because she is still here alone, there is no clock and no sense of time, in the darkness with a disappointed heart because she was betrayed by the person she once helped.
"Maybe he was just joking around back then, deliberately targeting me and I've gotten sucked into the drama he created. Too stupid, I really am too stupid."

Sonya stared at the large company yard in front of her and according to Michael's explanation this was Elano's company that had stood tall for many years from the last few generations. The place looked crowded and that let Sonya know that there were several construction workers who were looking at the design and structure of the building, it seemed that after obtaining the disaster-proof building formula this man was doing major reconstruction and renovation.
"It might be difficult for you to enter because he would have recognized you as Miss Katherine's mother. But there is nothing impossible if we can do it now, if he is still human he should still have a conscience and there is no way to let you outside and plead with him who is much younger."
Sonya remained silent for a moment at the front and walked slowly towards the door of the lobby that was there. She approached one of the receptionists who greeted her warmly and politely.
"I would like to see Mr. Elano, is he available? I have business to conduct with him."
"Excuse me, who am I speaking to?"
"Umm, Sonya, my name is Sonya and he must know. I am Katherine's mother, she is a friend of my daughter."
The receptionist nodded briefly then picked up the phone and dialed someone. Sonya wrung her hands, hoping that this time she would be able to meet Michael because of course she did because this was now her goal.
"I'm sorry, ma'am. There was no letter or appointment made so Master declined to meet. He's very busy these days, so it's better to just leave because it's for business and apart from that the Lord would never want to meet ordinary people like Madam."
I begged and pleaded for help for some time but no one would let her in because they couldn't. A man noticed that from the tablet and smiled a little, he was Elano's assistant who had just answered the call from the receptionist.
"Want to use your son to get close to my employer? If you're already in jail, you should just stay in jail and not make a scene, these poor people are so annoying."
With a puffy face, Sonya walked out of the room and the company disappointed. But she would not stop because she had to be able to deliver justice for her daughter who was currently in prison.
"Mr. Elano is very blessed and he also got all this very easily. He said he paid many professors to find such a good formula for the building's defense. After this, the building will function normally and although a disaster is rumored to be coming here, we won't get it if we buy the patent."
Sonya cried softly feeling the disappointment in her heart. This was the result of her daughter's hard work, but instead it was recognized by others and that made her feel very disappointed.
