Chapter 9

"Miss Katherine, could you join us for a moment?"

Katherine, who had just left her belongings, nodded when some of her fellow professors invited her to talk. They were the same group and of course the same company to get the same result and agreement. With Katherine who was not only with them and still trying to always divide her time studying her invention without fear that people would claim it as their own.

Katherine is paid by the government who has the right if she wants to patent a product. Instead of having to deal with people who don't like her and deliberately compete with her openly so Katherine would rather just stop than have to deal with them and hand over her invention to the state.

Of course people would think twice about going against the state, because what they had worked for so far would not make everything fall apart. They can focus on their work again and the country will have to worry about hackers and haters, who certainly won't like seeing them develop.

"What Miss said earlier is not a problem but we want to talk about something else."

When they entered the room and Katherine came in to ask if there was anything wrong with the project, they immediately shook their heads and asked them to sit down.

"We just wanted to say that there is a man who would like to join us on this. You're one of the senior processors who could consider him. He's a wealthy businessman, who has promised to help with our research expenses. So, would you allow him to come along? We can benefit from having someone who will help with the costs."

Katherine looked at them with an astonished look. "Isn't there any help from the government regarding costs? Why bring someone who can pay more than what we receive?"

"We're not raising something we want to get or we don't intend to abuse the government's order that we have to do research by inviting others to join us and we benefit from them. We're just trying to double the research results if we can get double the profit. Because after all, the salary given by the government is quite small and we also have to live among people who are currently in a difficult situation. I feel that it's not easy because we are between life and death in this business so even if we receive help from others with good intentions, it's not wrong.

"The government is also desperately trying to get us the right share and it's still not enough compared to what we could have gotten. But because we love our homeland, we are still here even though we are lacking. After all, the people who want to join us and want to finance it are also people from the same country. I am sure there will be no problem because he is still the same person as us who both come from this country. There won't be any problems, everything will go well as we expected."

Katherine and their words. She actually knew that her colleagues were not as evil as people might think about misusing their orders and abilities for personal gain. Because if they wanted to misuse this then they wouldn't have talked to her about it either, they would have done it themselves.

"We're going to share the research results with him too? Can that be done while the government asks us to look into it in order to help the people?"

"As long as we don't misuse it then we can definitely get good results and we don't have to betray the country. We also have no intention of betraying the country, it's all about our own thoughts if we are so inclined. After all, we intend to find the formula for the country, not for us to divert it to others. Don't worry, we can make it work together. Even if we have met all the standards, it will also be easier to share the formula with him.

"He's also been instrumental in this matter so there's no way we can't tell and give him the formula. It doesn't matter if we have to do something that results in sharing it with him. The important thing is that we first fulfill the people who are here and the people who are in need, there is no harm because it will bring benefits to all of us."

Katherine sighed and nodded slowly, she could only agree with their words because after all what they said was true. It takes quite a lot of money to finance this kind of research, it cannot be careless for them to use state money because they have to get permission from the supervisor directly. Meanwhile, to buy some of the experimental and research materials needed for the sake of finding what materials are accurate, it takes a lot of money.

Not to mention that they also need money for their lives. If there are people who are able to help you and become backups in the program and the process of finding this formula, it will be much better. Because in the future it will also be easier and they will not fail in this business because they are just people who need to eat.

"Then who is in charge of this matter?"

"We'll see who he trusts because he's a big businessman that we can't just mess with. After this, we will be able to conduct research with him and meetings with him to test what we can get to make a building that can withstand all kinds of things that we often try to do. This anti-disaster building will of course take quite a long time to make, after this we will get what we can get."

Katherine nodded slowly and sighed. "In that case, I hope he's not selfish because it's the people we have to look after first. If he is a businessman and has a lot of wealth, then it means he is a person who will not lack anything and can get anything. There should already be bulletproof and earthquake-proof houses but why does he have to do that?"

"We also hope for the same thing, hopefully nothing wrong will happen because after all we both intend to survive, if we fail later it will be difficult for ourselves."

After the meeting, they finally parted ways because the meeting had already ended. Either way, they could only try to hurry up even though they had spent four days in vain.

There was nothing they could do but in the end, things would still happen if the time came.

"Hey, are you coming home from work?"

Just as Katherine was about to walk out of her office, a man was seen greeting her and it made Katherine stop before smiling at him.

"What are you doing?" Katherine asked as she opened and put on her jacket.

The weather was still the same, hot as last night. It made it necessary for her to keep her jacket on as it prevented the sun's heat from penetrating her skin.

"Going for a walk, you just got back?"

Katherine nodded. "Yes, as usual I was quite busy. But things are going well, we'll be doing research on the formula I managed to find. So only with this will we be able to do everything we want."

Elano looked at Katherine's beautiful face that looked tired. "Want to do something? Isn't there a cafe here? Can we eat or drink something relaxing?"

"There is, but it's a bit far. It looks like I have two hours to relax, then I have to go back home to do more research. My work isn't done yet, so I still have to do something else to make things easy."

Elano smiled and nodded slowly. "Two hours is enough, let's go to the cafe. I won't take you away for long and I'll treat you to this."

Katherine smiled and nodded slowly. They headed to the public transportation waiting area commonly used by people who did not want to bother with flying cars. After all, not everyone used it because it was expensive and of course people thought about buying it. That's why now most of them also only use public transportation to go everywhere.

Just a few minutes after boarding the super-fast train, they finally arrived at one of the cafes that had an air conditioner made of eternal ice around it. The air conditioner didn't really work here, especially since it was an outdoor cafe which made them have to provide more cooling.

"Any difficulties you've faced by staying here for a few days?"

Elano, who was ordering food through the tablets lying on each table, looked at her and smiled.

"No, especially since you deliberately told us how to survive. I can do it and feel more at ease living here."

Katherine breathed a sigh of relief and nodded. "After returning from here you will feel very unfamiliar with your previous city. This is the most extreme place, that's why I don't know how you will live it."

"That's for later, you don't know me but I am a person who likes new things the most, including extreme things."
