Seventeen
We hadn't even arrived at Winter's house when I heard a bang. I became terrified that someone would shoot and injure me. I noticed that the taxi came to an abrupt halt. The driver in the backseat only gave me a sidelong glance.
"I'm sorry, ma'am, but my taxi's tire blew." The driver explained.
I gave him a nod. I mistook the gun for an explosion, but it turned out to be a tire. The rain hasn't stopped. We're still smack dab in the middle of nowhere. I took a quick look around. I even saw some light; it had been dark earlier due to the rain.
"I don't think I can take you home, ma'am, because my tire is flat and the nearest vulcanizing shop is still a long distance away."
"It's okay, I'm not in a hurry," I said.
This driver's face is friendly, and he is in his twenties. He doesn't seem to harm anyone. He nodded and pushed the taxi toward the vulcanizing shop. As I looked around, I noticed a couple who appeared to be fighting. My brow furrowed. Fighting in the rain? They'll get a fever the next day. I shook my head.
I imagine that the man seems to be separating from the woman because of the opening of his mouth. I don't know but I feel sadness for the woman. The time comes back to me when I also cried because of him.
It's very difficult to understand men, you love them too much and gave them more but at the end of the day, they will abandon you like trash because for them you haven't given them enough. From what I can see, the woman doesn't seem to agree because she is still chasing the man who is leaving her in the middle of the street raining. Some women are numb, they are disliked to admit that the man didn’t want them anymore so, they are chasing.
I noticed that the driver stopped pushing the taxi and I just saw him take off his jacket and approach the woman sitting while crying. It's too wet from the rain. The woman was surprised because a jacket covered her head.
The man led her to the front seat. I can't quite imagine that a woman still humbles herself just for a man. It's not the end of the world just for this woman to commit suicide. She was bent but I noticed she was looking at me in the mirror. The woman's figure is small and she got a nice face but she wastes her strength on a nonsense man. And still in her twenties, but when she is crying earlier in the middle of the rain is like she is a woman with no hope in life.
According to what I heard, the woman is still crying.
“He will not return to you, even if you cry there until tomorrow,” I stated.
She does not respond to my remarks and does not speak up.
“What made him abandon you? It's just because he isn't satisfied with you anymore.” I looked at the guy in the mirror, who was continuing to push the car till it came to a place, which I believe was the vulcanizing shop, and the woman sat up and stopped crying.
I exited the taxi to go buy bottled water at a store; the rain had stopped. I checked my watch; it was three o'clock in the afternoon. I bought water at the store and drank it later. The taxi resumed service as the driver approached the woman inside and let her out. Did they know each other?
The woman took a position next to me. It was swaying, which I could see in my peripheral vision. She was not chilled, and she was soaking in the rain. She would not have left in the rain if the driver had not approached her and led her into the car. I noticed that the man handed the woman a plastic wrap and followed her into the store.
The woman reappeared five minutes later, dressed in a white shirt with embroidered pink flowers and black leggings. Is this to imply that the man brought her a dress? The driver had an impact on my heart. The woman returned to her previous position, and the male took her place. This is something I inquired about.
"Do you know who that woman is?"
"No, ma'am."
I nodded and fell silent. An hour later the taxi wheel was also fixed. The driver entered with the woman and then I followed.
I felt relaxed once I was inside the taxi. The rain had stopped, but the cold had not. When the driver inquired, I was preoccupied with staring at the sights every time we passed.
"Can we go to the restaurant first?"
I gave the driver a kind nod. I was also hungry and wanted to eat something.
The taxi pulled up to a classy restaurant.
My brows furrowed as I know the driver's favorite restaurant.
In my head, I said. "This driver had a social side."
I don't like eating at fine places because the food is pricey. As I followed them into the restaurant, I shook my head.
I took a seat in front of the lady.
I hadn't seen her complete face until now. Her lips were tiny and her nose was sharp. Her face was shaped like a heart. Also, the smoothness of the skin. As if she were a model for a soap opera. Then crying in the rain because her partner abandoned her? Maybe she thinks she can’t find a find man anymore.

I hadn't seen her complete face earlier because her face was covered by her hair, but now I can see. She had a tiny cheekbone and her nose was pointed. Her face was shaped like a heart. Also, the smoothness of the skin. is as if she were a model for soap products. Then crying in the rain because her partner abandoned her? Maybe she thinks she can’t find a man anymore.
"I'll take care of our order, ma'am, I'll also pay because I've bothered you too much," he added.
Is this man without a family? Will he reimburse us for our meal at this type of establishment? Is he carrying a lot of people now? It's a waste of money on my part. He'll be the one to pay for what we ate. I stopped protesting and just let him do whatever he wanted.
"Are you going to ask me something?" I asked as the woman gazed at me.
"Do you know who he is?"
"No. I'm simply his passenger." My response.
She gave a slight nod.
"Do you know who he is? Because I notice you're too close to each other."
"I don't know him, but whenever I'm in a bad circumstance, he always comes to my rescue, not once, but several times."
"Does she appear to be your savior?” I was astounded by what I heard. She gave an embarrassed nod.
I commented, "I'm not sure whether I'm the only one who notices, but you two have a connection; you're so at ease with one another."
The lady's cheeks were flushed. Then I asked her a question. Later, I inquired,
"What happened?"
"My five-year partner broke up with me for no reason, as you witness earlier," she claims. I couldn't take my gaze away from her.
I locked my gaze on her. She's the type of woman that can easily be deceived. Her features are sleek, and she exudes a friendly demeanor. Because she was unstable, males like her ex-boyfriend dared to hurt her feelings. Because she let her do it. She did not need the man in her life to abandon her. She's looking for a man who cares about her. Because of her personality, she isn't used to being harmed. It's similar to a paved road that hasn't been polished since it's been readily ripped up.
"How old are you?" My question.
"I'm twenty-three years old." She replied.
“You're too young to be upset because someone you care about has left you. There are plenty of other men that came into your life that you can love. You're beautiful, so it's okay to cry for now because it's really painful to be left behind by the person we love so much, but you're done crying tomorrow or the day after, and life must go on," I said. It nodded and bowed.
“And there's just one thing I can advise you against pursuing. Because chasing after someone worthless is inappropriate for a woman like you. It might be better if they pursue you instead.”
I started it with a grin on my face because I remembered Marcus and the wonderful things we did together. I felt irritated. I'll get ready for the next few days because we'll be pursuing each other once more. Because the guy had already placed our food on the table, the two of us stopped conversing. We began eating an hour later. And I observe the man shredding the woman a dish and putting it on her plate. I'm pleased with what I'm seeing. Because I believe there will come a time when a man will truly love this woman.
Maybe I think the chance that her boyfriend left her so they could meet this man, she still had to get hurt and cry to find the man for her. I didn't comment yet, and I continued eating. It's getting dark, and I know that Priya is looking for me now.
After an hour, We also finished eating. At once, we got up and left the restaurant. A minute later, we were inside the taxi. I want to ask the driver how much he paid for the bill. But it seems rude on his part when that happens because men have an ego, so in this case, they should pay.
It was seven o'clock in the evening when I arrived at Harley's house. I noticed they were both outside the house, and they seemed so bothered.
When I got out of the taxi, their faces suddenly brightened. The driver said goodbye and left after I paid, and the woman also waved at me.
"Where have you been? " Winter asked me as I approached the two of them. It's relaxing.
"I was stranded inside the taxi since the tire suddenly blew. Why didn't you find another taxi so you could get home right away?" Pia asked.
"I'm sorry," I said.
"All right, we're just worried about you," said Pia.
"Thank you," I said as they carried me inside the house. I was lucky because of them both. They were kind to me.
I was in the living room of the house, Sitting down and looking at nothingness. I was suddenly guilty of what I have done to Gianna. I was worried that something bad might have happened to her. Shit! I can’t forgive myself when Gianna is doomed. I was about to get up when Lance suddenly appeared in front of me.
“Where are you going? It's too late for you to leave yet, "he said while sitting on the couch near where I was standing. I sighed and went back to sitting. It looked at me.
"Your cousin and I are getting married tomorrow. And I've done the thing you asked me to," he said, smiling. My forehead frowned. It whistled. And I remember what he meant.
"You idiot, maybe you plan to tell me what you did?" I will ask.
"No, I don't kiss and tell," he replied.
