Forty- Three
"I'm going to leave you for a moment, Gianna. I'll go get you a change of clothes," I said.
"It's fine, Marcus," she said.
"You need to change your clothes; I'm sure you can't sleep unless you do," I told her.
"Okay."
I went to my room after leaving her for a while. I went shopping for pajamas and a t-shirt. And I returned to my guest room.
"This is your dress, Gianna; what about your underwear? I shouldn't lend you a brief because it doesn't fit you," I joked. I noticed her face turning bright red.
"Shut up, Marcus! You're too talkative," she said.
"Go away so I can get dressed!" She was sending me away . I exited the guest room and walked into the kitchen. I found Lance drinking water.
"Don't smile too much, Marcus, you look crazy. " Lance rebuke.
"Shut up! You're too observant. I'm too happy right now."
"How long will you be happy? Is it just for tonight?" he said to me.
I became deafeningly quiet. Lance was right now because if she wasn't guilty of what her aunt was saying about me, she wouldn't be going home.
"You're obsessed with her because she's stunning up close," Lance explained.
I cocked my brow and gave him a firm stare.
"Bastard, let's have a drink first; I can't go to bed early because I have work tomorrow," I said.
Lance said as he walked out of the kitchen, I decide to make Gianna a milk since I was alone in the kitchen. With a glass of milk in my hand, I make my way to the guest room. I yanked the door.
And what I saw in Gianna's outfit captivated me. She was dressed in my t-shirt but not in my pajamas. On my clothes, she appears to be wearing a duster.
"First, Gianna, drink some milk." " I said as I handed her milk.
"Thank you," Gianna said, taking the glass from my grasp.
"Just put on your pajamas so you don't get cold because the air conditioning is strong," I advised.
"Yes."
"All right, go to sleep." I told her.
But I noticed she was uncomfortable.
"What’s wrong, Gianna?” I asked her.
“Does Lance wife have a pad? Maybe I can ask for one piece. " She said to me as she bit her lips. I laughed.
"She's pregnant, Gianna, so she doesn't use that anymore." I said.
That's why she hasn't worn pajamas yet because she was worried that my pajamas would get a blood stain.
“I'll just buy you at the corner; it's just nearby. What about undies? " I asked her.
"I already have undies." She replied.
I exited the guest room door and walked out of the house. It's still eight o'clock, so there's another store open.
I'm grateful that the store is still open. Based on what I knew, I purchased three packs for Gianna to use in the coming days. Menstruation in women can last up to nine days. I entered the house, closed the gate, and went straight to the guest room.
"Here's the napkin pad, Gianna," I handed it to her, noticing her brow furrowed.
"The amount of this, Marcus, it appears you don't want my blood to stop," Gianna said.
"Just in case," I said.
"Thank you," she said.
"Go to sleep, and please accept my apologies for the inconvenience," she said.
I responded with a nod and exited the guest room. I intend to sleep because I still have a lot to do at the office. I entered the bedroom, sat on the bed, and closed my eyes.
I'll get up early tomorrow to go home. I carried my sling bag out of the room while folding the blanket I was using.
First, I went to the kitchen to get some water. I've never met anyone. It is, however, still five o'clock in the morning. I exited the gate and waited for a taxi to pass by. Perhaps the drivers during these hours are still sleeping. And a motorcycle stopped in front of me.
"Good morning, ma'am; do you live here?" the man asked, taking off his helmet. and the happy face of the taxi driver, who is getting married next month showed me.
"Oh my, we'll meet again," I said.
"Yes, I just wanted to remind you that our wedding is next month," he said.
"Of course I'm going," I said.
"My name is Calvien, and how many times have we met but we didn't know each other by name?" he laughed.
"Yes, my name is Gianna," I replied.
"Take a ride," he said.
I'm nervous because I'm not used to riding in this manner. But I saw someone on television showing how to ride a motorcycle.
"Just hang on to my waist, ma'am, so you don't fall," he said.
"That's all right,"
Calvien is already driving the motorcycle away from Marcus' house, and I'm already sitting on it.
"Whose house is that?" he ask.
"I just slept over at a friend's house," I explained.
He gave a nod.
"How about you? You're out and about early in the morning? "
"My wife is craving an apple and something to eat, so I'll get it," Calvien said.
"By the way, how is she doing?"
"She's fine. She is always looking for something. "Calvien responded.
I've already told him where I'm going to be delivered.
"We've arrived, ma'am," he says.
I responded with a nod and got off the motorcycle.
"Thank you," I said.
It simply nodded and drove away from the mansion.
"Good morning, ma'am," the guard said.
"Good morning," I replied.
"Is everything all right here?" " I inquired.
"Of course, ma'am."
As I approached the front door, I noticed one of the house maid watering the plants.
"Good morning," I say to her.
I gave a nod.
"Your aunt is looking for you, Ma'am, and she called," she said.
"So, what did you say?"
"I told you you went to bed early," the woman said.
"Thank you very much. I'm with my friends. I spent the night with them. " I explained.
I left her and went inside, where I found Lance in the living room.
"Good morning, everyone. Marcus, has Gianna woken up yet? "He inquired.
"I'm not sure. I didn't check in to the guest room." That was my response.
"Gianna is no longer here. Perhaps she left early. I went to her room, but she hadn't brought her clothes with her. "According to my niece.
"Okay, so by the way, Lance, when is your company going to open? I heard the construction is finished." "I informed him.
"I just need to prepare everything," Lance said.
"That's fine."
I intend to eat first and then take a bath, so I won't have to go to the restaurant there to eat.
When I realized I had left my dirty clothes at Marcus house, I slapped myself across the face. That is the only thing that can be left behind. I got out of bed and took a shower. I also forgot to tell him that we were going to a wedding.
I went into the bathroom and showered. I needed to find something to wear. I wore plain black jeans and a pink blouse. I put on some powder and lipstick. I'm leaving the house with my channel bag. I flagged down a cab and drove to Marcus office. I asked the staff when I arrived at the said office.
"Hello, where is Mr. Marcus's office?" I inquired of the woman, who smiled sweetly at me.
"I'll accompany you, ma'am," the woman replied.
In response, I nodded. I followed the woman, who informed me that the white closed door was Marcus office. We entered after the woman knocked on the door. We came across an American-looking man sitting in a swivel chair rather than Marcus. I saw the recognition in his eyes when he saw me, but it quickly faded.
"Hello sir, she's looking for Marcus," a member of staff said.
"All right, Miss, have a seat," he said as the door closed and the staff walked out.
"Thank you," I said as I sat on the couch, my gaze wandering across Marcus' office, where the paint is all white with no design. The man sneezed.
"You must be?"
Perhaps he was curious about who I was and what I was doing here.
"I'm Gianna, Marcus's friend," I replied.
"I see," the man replied, his eyes amused.
My brow furrowed. What I said is correct. Unless it has any information about Marcus and me in the past.
"He hasn't arrived yet, and he didn't say anything about being at home or anything." He had many businesses to attend to, but I am here to watch over the company of that idiot. "The man stated.
So, when Marcus went to Los Angeles, this man was keeping an eye on it.
"He's finally arrived. Perhaps he is still at home. " My response.
"Are you serious? How do you know? "The man inquired.
I'm sure this man is looking for information.
"I just know because her daughter Winter was a friend of mine," I explained.
"All right, my name is Thompson, and I'm Marcus cousin," he explained.
"All right," I said.
"Do you mind if I wait a little longer?" He's running late. "He informed me.
"It's fine, I don't have anything else to do right now," I replied.
"What would you like to drink or eat?"
"No, I just finished eating," I replied.
" Okay, can I leave you for a few minutes? I'd like to go out to eat. "
"Sure."
"Thank you," he said as he walked out the door.
Inside Leon's office, I was alone. Isn't he supposed to have a secretary? Then I heard the door open and a woman walk in.
"Hello!" she said.
"Mr. Marcus' cousin came out," I explained.
"I see; my name is Shiela, sir Marcus's secretary," the woman said to me.
"Hello, my name is Gianna," I replied.
"What exactly do you want? I have something to offer you. "She explains.
"There's no need. I'm all right."
"All right, I'll leave you first. I've got a lot of work to do."
"Go on," it said as it exited the office, leaving me alone.
Thompson walked out of the building and into the restaurant. I decided to follow him.
"Thompson," I said.
"What are you doing here?" he inquired.
"I probably followed you," I said.
His brow furrowed. "I hope you just go to the company. Someone is waiting for you in the office." He explained to me.
My brow furrowed.
"Who?"
"Tsk, go ahead in the office. Someone is waiting for you," he said.
I walked out of the restaurant and over to the company. I entered the building and proceeded to my office. I haven't seen my secretary in a while. When I pushed open the door, I noticed Gianna sitting gracefully on the couch. It smiled at me as it turned to face me.
"Hello, Marcus!" she exclaimed cheerfully.
"Hello, what brought you here? You mysteriously vanished from the house, and I saw you here," I said once, kissing her cheek.
"Nothing, I just thought I'd pay you a visit," Gianna replied.
My brow furrowed. Should I have a good time? Because fate appears to agree with me. I sat down next to her on the couch.
"I met your cousin," she explains.
"He's the one I left here when we were in Los Angeles," I replied.
"Lower your voice, Marcus, so that someone can hear you," she reprimanded.
"I've already stated that even if someone hears, there is nothing you can do," I explained.
Gianna was frowning, which I noticed.
"So, what did you eat that you moved to me and I no longer have to chase you?"
"It's as tiring that I'm avoiding and hiding from you," Gianna laughs, and I smile back.
