Twenty

There was a sharp jolt in my chest. I'm not sure where it came from, but seeing them together was a sour taste in my mouth. My stomach started hurting just as I was about to leave the restaurant. I winced because I had no idea I was hungry.

The guard frowned as he looked at me. I walked into the restaurant, glaring at the guard. When I saw Gianna walk into the restaurant, I became nervous. I'm not sure if she noticed me. It simply walks until it comes to an empty seat. I saw her in every place I could see her, including here in the restaurant where Maureen is with me. I wanted to approach her and kiss her, but it would have been inappropriate because we were in public.
I couldn't sit still in my seat; I felt like a boyfriend who was cheating on his girlfriend as I looked at Gianna, who was now sitting, and began ordering food. I'm not sure if she saw me or if she just didn't want to look at me. My face was perspiring. I'm not sure why, because the restaurant has air conditioning.
Maureen might have noticed that I was fidgety. She wiped my face with a tissue. I was biting my lower lip. I'm not sure what Gianna will think when she notices Maureen wiping my face.
"You're making too many assumptions. What should Gianna believe? She doesn't care because you don't have a relationship and you are the only one pursuing her. "My mind abruptly said.

"Oh, no! I'm completely insane."
Maureen may have noticed my agitation and asked me.

"Are you okay, Marcus? Why am I noticing you're restless?" she inquired.

"Nothing, I'm just fine." My replied.


As she chewed, her gaze wandered around and landed on Gianna. She cracked a smile.


"Gianna, Hi. You're there. Why didn't you call me?" it says.

"Hi, Miss, you're busy. I don't want to disturb you. I'm fine in here." Gianna said.

But she didn’t stare at me even for a while. Her gazed is for Maureen only. I was suddenly felt angry for a moment. How this woman is so cruel? We had sex for two times and then she still treat me like a total stranger?
Maureen wants us to be alone. Since she didn’t invite Gianna in our seats. I noticed that Gianna start eating when her order placed the waiter in her table.

She was beautiful in her office suits. That even she didn’t wear make-up she was still gorgeous as ever. I know that she got a simple life but she had a nice complexion of beauty. Her skin was flawless and white. I don’t know what skin care she used.
I saw Leon in my peripheral vision that he keep on glancing in my direction.
Then I noticed that he was like angry upon staring at me. How come he keep on glancing at my direction when he had a date on someone?

I shook my head. Then I started eating my order so that I can go home. I don’t want to be with Marcus right now. I felt like I was in danger when I’m near with this man. I don’t want to be being surround with my feelings because I’ll know if I’ll be with this man, I’ll forgot to restrain myself. So we end up having a sexual intimacy.

I was eager to go home. Since I wants to be with Gianna tonight. But seeing Maureen right now, she is like she didn’t want to go home yet. I was keep on looking in Gianna’s directions because if ever she was going home. I’m going to follow her.
I’ll keep on looking the hours in my wristwatch. It’s seven o’clock in the evening. But Maureen was eating in poise that’s why I’m pissed off. I noticed that Gianna stood up. I was in panic to think that she was about to go home. My mind was in chaos when she is walking through the door of the restaurant. Shit! I want to stood up and follow her outside.
When I heard Maureen say something that make me stunned for a moment.

“I don’t want that someone was disturb your mind when your with me. It was insulting to think that there’s was someone else that make your life wonderful for a brief moment but while me, I was been in your life for a long time but I can’t give impact in your life.” She said in a serious tone. I was dumfounded for a moment. Is she noticed something?
After an half hour of eating, Maureen stood up. I noticed that she wasn’t in the mood. She went directly into the counter and pay for our bill. Then Later on, she walk out and went inside the car.

Minutes passed when I decided to go out from the restaurant since Maureen was already at the car. I’ll open the car door when I already outside the restaurant. I noticed that Maureen was silent. I open the car engine and start driving away from the restaurant. Then a brief moment I’ll talked to Maureen.

“Where did I send you?” I asked her.

“At home, I want to lie down on my bed and sleep.” She said, without looking at me.
After an hour of driving, we arrived at Maureen’s house. She directly get out of the car and walked inside her house without saying goodbye to me. I’m aware that she is angry at me. What do I care? It’s much better so that she stop showing up her like towards me.
Then he abruptly turn his car into the city hoping that Aurora is not going home yet.

But sadly I didn’t find Gianna. I know that she was already at home. I don’t have a choice but go home as well.
I was in a taxi heading home. I’ll run as fast as I can earlier when I noticed Marcus car in the distance. I know he’ll find me because he is busy looking somewhere it’s like he is looking for someone. I’m thankful that a taxi will stop in front of me. I’ll took a deep breath and leaned my back on the car seat right now. Minutes passed when I arrived at Winter house. I’ll noticed Harley that she was outside the house standing.

I’ll get out the taxi after I’ll pay the driver. I walked towards Winter after I closed the taxi door. Winter smiled at me.
“Good evening, Gianna, you’ll go home late.” She said, smiling.
“Yeah, I went to the restaurant for while.” My response.

“Much been better because our cook was drunk and in despair.” She said, I know that she’s referring to was Pia.
“Really?” I said.

“Yes, when I’ll go home earlier I saw her drinking some alcohol in my bar in this house.” Winter said.
I took a deep breath.
“What about you, did you finish ate some dinner?” I’ll asked her.

“Yeah, I’ll going somewhere when you’re not yet come home, that’s why I’m here outside.” Winter response.
I nodded in response.
"What about Pia? Did she also eat dinner? " I’ll ask her.

"I don’t know, Gianna, if she’s like that, I’ll never comfort her since I want her to recover on her own without the help of her friends." She said to me,

I know she was hurt badly, but what do we need to do to help her? When in fact, she’s at fault for why she is suffering right now. Rohit loved her so much, but why did Pia doubt her boyfriend's loyalty? " Winter shook her head.

"Women like us were so doubtful sometimes because we truly believed in our instincts, but it didn’t help us in the times that we felt regrets towards our actions." Winter said



"Yeah, that’s why serious relationships suck. " My response.
Then we decided to go inside the house together. When Winter opened the front door, We noticed that Pia was lying on the floor in the living room, sleeping with a bottle of beer in her hands. I felt pity for her. Did she become like this just for a man? Even beautiful women can turn into messes just because of four letters called love. 

I noticed that winter was sad. I approached Pia and got the bottle of beer in Pia’s hand and carried it, but Pia didn’t carry Pia well because of her weight, so I rushed toward her, since I’d help her carry Pia on the couch.
"Damn you, love. There are many people who become devastated." Winter said.

After that, we put Pia on the couch. I’ll take her sandals off her feet and put them on the floor. She was messed up since I saw her eyes were swollen from crying. Even her hair was scattered in every corner of her face. Harley left the living room and went to the kitchen. After a minute, it came back with a basin in her hand that had water inside and a face towel. I knew that she was going to wipe Pia's face.

Winter began wiping Pia's body as I stood up and went to Pia's room to find her something to wear. I'll find a dress for Pia and carry it into the living room in a matter of minutes. Winter has already undressed Pia while covering her body with a blanket. I'll approach her and dress her.

I had already finished dressing Pia after a minute. And it's a good thing Pia's appearance is already fresh. We're currently sitting in the living room, facing Pia on the couch.

"Pia was a strong woman, but seeing her in this state took me by surprise."
Maybe all of her feelings and emotions are mixed up so that they all come out, and the end result is something like



"Yeah, she was so hurt because earlier in the afternoon, when we were eating lunch in the restaurant, she saw Rohit and the girlfriend eating in the restaurant too. I didn’t realize that she was ending up like that because when I saw her reactions earlier, it was like it was nothing to her seeing them in one place together, but I didn’t expect this to happen. " I said.

"She loves Rohit so much that she turns into an insensitive person. So she decides easily without planning. She believed in herself that if she decided to break up with Rohit, the man was chasing after her. But that’s not going to happen. Instead, Rohit will find someone else and be happy." Winter said.

"That’s it, she is here right now, drinking too much and getting so much hurt in life." She said
Sometimes we don't need to be comfortable in our relationship with someone because, even if they love us, there will come a time when they will never chase us if we make some mistakes, "Winter explained.
 


"If she can't help herself, she was always like that until we stopped taking care of her," I explained.

Winter then shook her head.

"By the way, Gianna, I want you to come with me tomorrow; I'm going to visit my father, and he wants you to meet him," she told me.


"Yes, sure. Since tomorrow is Saturday, no office work. " She said
I'm at the house after I came from the city. The house was quite. I don’t know where Lance is right now. Then I heard a knock on the front door. I felt surprised since Lance never did any knocking. He was directly going inside the house, but this one was knocking at the door. I opened the door afterwards, and to my surprise, I saw Dion smiling.
"Good evening, Sir." He said.

I nod and say, "I think you went to the wrong house." 

"Why, sir? I know that this is your house. He said in response. I’ll laugh because he didn’t get what I meant.
"Nothing, come inside." I said, while I opened the door wide.

Dion walked until he reached the couch. Then I’ll follow him afterwards.
