Twenty-Three

Pia dragged me until we got to the first floor of the building.
"Ouch, Pia, my shoulder was aching because you dragged me hard," I said to her.
"Whatever, Gianna, I never saw bruises on your skin because of my hold on you. You’re too sensitive," she said.
Then, after Pia got her hand on my shoulder, we walked together outside the building. That's why she dragged me along. I know that she was going to ask me something regarding what she heard earlier. After a few minutes, we were outside the building looking for a restaurant nearby. Later on, we found one. We entered inside, and Pia went to the counter and ordered food for us. While I was looking for an empty seat, Someone hold my hand from behind, and then I’ll turn around only to see the woman who is smiling at me widely. 
 
She is so familiar to me, I don’t know where I saw her.
"You don’t recognize me, do you?" she said, asking me.
My brows furrowed because of her questions.
"Try to remember then." She said.
Then I’ll realize something; this woman was the one who was crying in the middle of the rain. Because of her make-up, I haven’t recognized her easily since she was gone and matured.
"Of course, I’ll remember you now," I said, smiling.
"How are you? It’s been a month since the last time I saw you, "I said.
"I’m fine. Maybe we should some other time since I’m in a hurry. Here’s my calling card. Call me if you have time. " She said, as she handed me a light green calling card. I’ll get it and smiled at her. 
 Then, Later on, she bids her goodbyes to me and goes out to the restaurant. I’ll keep looking for a seat after the woman leaves. I didn’t notice that Pia was following me.
"Who is she?" she said behind my back, referring to the woman that I was talking with.
"Some of my acquaintances." My response.
Then I’ll take a seat and give it to Pia, and I’ll take a chair again for myself. Minutes passed, and we started eating, then she kept on glancing at me. 
 
“Eat first, Pia; after that, we talked. Because seeing you right now is like seeing someone who didn’t sleep because you have many questions to ask me. " I said.
"Yeah, you’re right. You better be prepared. " She said, smiling.
"Whatever." My response.
After half an hour, we finished eating, and Priya started to ask. 
 
"I have a lot of work in the office, Pia. It’s not our day off today." I said.
"You have many excuses, Ginna. I’ve already texted Miss Maureen that we came back to the office late.” She said.
I’d shake my head.
"So, why did Miss Nirvanna ask you that question out of nowhere? "She asked.
"We meet at the restaurant on Friday afternoon. When you go home, I'll tell you that I want to go to the mall to buy some stuff. So that’s why I saw Miss Maureen on a date with a man. I don’t know what she was talking about since she noticed that the man she was with kept on glancing at me. " I’ll explain.
 "Do you know who the man is she's with?" she asked.
I’ll shake my head, pretending that I didn’t know. When in fact, we savor each other’s bodies during those times that we are having a one-night stand in the car. The second one was in his house. I’ll never tell my deepest secret to Pia, even if we are close to each other.
"Who? "I ask her, pretending.

"Winter’s father. They didn’t want someone who had a relationship with their father instead of Miss Maureen. But sadly, Uncle Marcus wasn’t like her. " Pia says.
 
"That’s what she told me earlier. Why do I care? I’ll have many problems in my life. Why did I interfere in their lives? " I said to Pia,
"Yeah, you’re right." She’ll respond.
After a while, we’re done eating. Then I’ll get up and follow Pia outside the restaurant after she pays our bill. Later on, we walked together until we reached the glass door entrance. The guard smiled at us and we nodded in response. We stepped in and walked through the elevator. The elevator door opened and we entered easily. After a minute,
 
We arrived at each other’s respective offices. Pia entered her office while I was pushing the door slowly. When the door opened, I entered and saw nothing inside the office. Where is Miss Maureen right now? Maybe she was going home since she wasn’t in the mood to work. I sat down to check all the papers that she gave me when my phone rang. I’ll get it in my bag and look at who’s calling me. Only to discover it was my Aunt. I'll click the "answered" button and put it in my ear.
  "Hello, Aunt, How are you? " I’ll ask her.
"I’m fine, Gianna. Let’s meet later, okay? " She said.
"Okay, Aunt." Then I’ll hang up my phone. After my Aunt calls, I’ll return to my paperwork.

When Pia came into the office, I was too overwhelmed to check the papers. I didn't look at it.
“We're going to have lunch, Gianna. I'm already hungry. Didn't you check the time? "it asked me.
"Are you pregnant, Pia? Why are you so felt hungry easily? We'll just eat earlier.” I said.
It frowned.
“Don't ask me that. You know, I don't have a man. Why would I become pregnant? " She said.
"Are you afraid of gaining weight?" She asked me.
I stood up and sorted out the paperwork. While Pia was the first to leave the office, I grabbed my bag and went out the door after I locked it. I looked for Pia where she was, but I could not find her. I continued walking until I reached the elevator. I went inside. Two minutes later, the elevator door on the first floor opened. I got out and walked softly to the outside of the building.
I looked around to find Pia, but I couldn't find her. Has that woman left me? I was frustrated. I walked until I reached the restaurant. I went inside and looked for a place to sit, but my two eyes saw Priya with a man. That's why she left first and left me because someone was waiting for her here. The man with her seemed familiar to me. I approached the two of them.
"Gianna, here you are," said Priya.
I raised an eyebrow at her and pulled up a chair. She just smiled, and as I sat down, I saw Rohit with his girlfriend. What's the matter? Why do they always meet in this place? Is there no other restaurant here?
Maybe it’s just a coincidence because it’s the only restaurant near the office. I looked at Pia, but Rohit and his girlfriend just didn't seem to affect her since she was busy talking to the man she was with. But who is this man?
"Why did you leave me in the office?" I asked her after I sat down.
"Because it's like you seem not to go," she says.
"I hope you even texted me that you have someone with you here," I said.
“It’s okay for me that you’ve been with us.” He said, smiling.
This man was crowned as a boy next door because he is so handsome. I felt ashamed since he got white skin than me.
If this is Pia's new boyfriend, she has the final say on who she dates. However, the only difference is that it is younger than Rohit. Why did I make the comparison? What matters is that Pia is happy.
 
I also saw that his costly watch was shining.
 
Pia presented me with a spoon, fork, and plate. I snatched some food and began to eat. A minute later, the man abruptly stood up and muttered a brief goodbye to us. I quickly asked Pia after the man had left.
 
"Who is that?" I'll ask when "Can you tell me why his face looks so familiar?"

"Of course, you know him, as he was a waiter in this restaurant." My brows raised.
"Are you sure he's just a waiter?" My question,

"That's what he says to me." She answered.
"Why do you seem skeptical?"
 
"Are you blind? Can't you see what that man looks like? His complexion is smoother than ours, "I replied.
Pia burst out laughing.
 
"I'm not blind, Gianna, but that's what he told me, so I just respect him."
Then I nod in agreement with what she says.
"How did the two of you meet?"
"I don't know, it just happened as a surprise, and he approached me here while I was waiting for you." I was taken aback.
 
"You'll meet just right now? But the two of you talk like you're so at ease with each other.”

This is incredible. And I noticed that Rohit was staring at us.
My gaze drew nearer to Pia.
"The one you love is staring at you."
"Let him go. I've moved on a bit by little."
"Perhaps Julius, the man with us, is the one for me," she speculated.
"Are you sure? Maybe you'll just make him cover-up?"
And then she fell silent in response to what I said.
"You don't have to utilize someone to move on. It's not proper."
"I'm trying to recover, but you said not to use someone? I'm not using him."
"All right, you say so."

We became silent when Julius came back to our table. Then I’ll also finish eating when he sits on his chair. I stood up,
“Where are you going, Gianna?” Pia asked me.
“I’m done eating, Pia, so I’ll go first since you have your companion.” My answer, while I smiled at Julius.
“Are you sure?” she asked me.
“Of course.” My response, upon glaring at her.
Maybe she was planning to left Julius and go with me. Then I’ll go out to the restaurant after I bid goodbye to them. I noticed that Rohit and his girlfriend were no longer in the restaurant.
Right now, I was walking toward the building's door. When I entered the elevator to the second story, a few minutes had elapsed. When the second-floor elevator door opens, I walked out of the room and into Miss Maureen's office.
"Why didn't Pia ever go with you?"
"She hasn't finished eating yet, sir," I replied.
"Seriously? Or was she merely dating when in times working? " he explained.
My brows furrowed in response to his remark. Is it possible that I detected jealousy in his tone?
"You best inform her about what you said to me, sir," I said,
Assuming he was jealous since he saw Pia happy with another man. Then I proceeded to get inside, leaving him outside the door.

I sat on the couch. I didn’t know what Rohit was trying to imply earlier, but I’m sure that he was jealous. 
 
I’m done with my work. So I’m bored sitting on the couch. I almost forgot that my Aunt and I were going to meet later. It’s five o’clock in the afternoon when I check my wristwatch. I stood up and grabbed my bag and went out of the office. I noticed that Pia’s office was locked, indicating that she had already gone home. 
 
I used the stairs on my way out of the building. The guard smiled at me when I passed by him at the entrance. I saw Pia leaning on the black car in front of the building. I approached her and said,
"I thought you had already gone home," I asked her.
"Not yet. I’ll wait for you because I would like to say goodbye to you since Julius and I went somewhere." She said.
"All right, go with him." My response.
