Chapter 12

Chad was surprised when Tara took a bold move and entered his car without his permission. Chad also noticed that Tara's behaviour started changing slightly, but he didn't care to find out why. He didn't want to take Tara to his workplace because of his insecurities about her.
When he took Tara to the hospital, he was so bored that he started thinking if he should leave Tara and ask one of his drivers to come pick her up when she's done.
While Chad was busy texting his best friend, Mark, about how Tara was wasting his time in the hospital,.
The moment the doctor announced to them that they were going to be parents, Chad's attention was caught, as he was bemused and didn't even know when his phone slipped through his hands.
Tara, on the other hand, was jumping with an overload of joy, but Chad... Chad was angry and refused to accept that his wife was pregnant with another man's child.
He slammed the table and went out of the room because he couldn't handle the pressure.
He was fuming with jealousy and anger as he stood in front of the door, thinking of how to find a solution to the abomination in his wife's womb.
While he was standing outside, he saw the man who was the cause of his high blood pressure. The man impregnated his wife.
Chad hid in a sharp corner as he waited for the huge man to leave, but instead Gaston was talking to another man almost his height.
He saw his wife exit the doctor's office, and her gaze met the huge man who impregnated her.
Chad was confused as to why his wife was staring at the man. Could it be that she remembered him? He asked himself.
"That's impossible; I drugged her that night; she won't remember him even if she tries," Chad whispered to himself, but he doesn't understand why she's staring at him like a statue.
When Chad saw the man was about to turn, he used the opportunity to pull his wife to the corner so the man wouldn't recognise her and ask for another night.
"If you really want to stay here, I don't mind booking a bed for you." Chad was seriously pissed off, but Tara was still confused.
This early morning, after so much hesitation, Gaston decided to fulfil his mother's wish and went to the hospital for a quick check-up with his beta, Victor.
"Alpha I don't think the doctor can help with your condition, you know?" Victor said as he walked side by side with his Alpha, Gaston.
"Why would you think that? Besides, I'm perfectly fine; my mom is just exaggerating things as always," Gaston told his Beta, and they both entered their doctor's office.
The doctor ran a quick basic checkup on Gaston, and the doctor gave him his reports.
"Your body is tense; you've been stressing your brain more than usual; you haven't been eating properly; and you're not getting enough sleep," the doctor said, and Gaston rested his fingers on his temples.
"All you're trying to tell me is that I should eat constantly and rest more frequently," he said, standing up to leave.
"Well, of course, Mr. Gaston, you should probably relax and maybe take a break for a while."
Gaston scoffed, "Yeah, right."
Gaston and Victor stood up and left the room.
"Gaston I know you won't listen to the doctor's advice." Victor quickly stopped Gaston from leaving.
"Of course I won't listen to her; she's clearly telling me to slack at work, and you know that's impossible," Gaston said.
"All you need is to get your mind off your mate, Gaston," Victor says, and Gaston knew he was right.
Gaston has been extremely restless since he last saw his mate, Tara, and now he can't forget about her for a second.
While Victor kept on nagging him, he could have sworn he's feeling his mate's presence.
"If you don't clear your mind, you may end up making a decision you may regret."
Gaston's eyes darted around as Victor's voice went away. His eyes kept on looking, but immediately he turned his gaze around and noticed someone entering the sharp corner when he wanted to go check who it was that Victor held him.
"Hey men, where do you think you're going? What's up?"
Gaston turned his gaze back to the place and jerked his hand out of Victor's hold. He rushed to the corner, but unfortunately, he saw no one.
"Alpha, are you alright? You look worried," Victor, his Beta, said as he walked up to him.
"I could have sworn my mate was here," Gaston said as he looked at the hospital exit where the corner leads.
Gaston quickly ran outside and looked around, but there were too many people, and it was hard for him to scent her.
"Come on, bro, you're starting to get delusional over her," Victor said as he approached Gaston.
"No-"
"You're just imagining things, mehn; let's just go home so you can rest," Victor tried to reason with his friend.
Gaston was a bit hesitant.
"Maybe I need to relax for real," Gaston said, because he thinks he's going crazy over her.
Gaston decided to stop thinking about his mate and move on with his lonely life. He would rather stay single than mate with a corrupt worker.
He still wonders why the moon goddess gave him such a mate, and he doesn't know what the moon goddess has installed for him in the future.
