Chapter 13
Chad POV
Up until now, I've been so disgusted by her every time she comes to mind. But all this is my fault because I let her sleep with another man, all because of my personal reasons.
I don't blame myself completely. I mostly blame her because she's so naive and gullible. If she were a wolf, maybe she wouldn't have slept with another man, but still she did.
That girl disgusts me to the core, especially now that she's caring for another man's child in my house, but two can play at that game.
She dares cheat on me, so I'll pay her back.
It's been about two months, plus we confirmed she's pregnant, although I found it hard to believe as I continued asking different doctors to confirm, but still got the same positive answer.
That slut had the guts to enjoy that man so much that he got her pregnant.
I hated her before, and now I hate her more for getting pregnant for that stranger.
"Chad, are you okay? You look quite upset," Sophie, my mate and new girlfriend, asked me worriedly as she drew circles with her fingers on my arm while I drove.
Recently, I've been hanging out with the love of my life, Sophie. All of a sudden, she noticed me, and I asked her if we could get back together, and she agreed.
"It's nothing; I'm just worried I have to go home to see that slut in my house. I really wish you could come," I said genuinely.
"You should not be stressing your brain on that loser, Tara; she's just lucky she's good-looking, or else no man will want to have a goodie with two shoes like her," Sophie said, and I chuckled.
"You're not wrong, Bea, but every guy will want a beautiful and mature girl like you." I crease her bare thighs.
"Every guy but not you," she punted.
"What do you mean? I want you so much, Sophie."
She scoffed, and I pulled up the car at a nearby parking space.
"What's all of this about? Don't tell me you're having doubts about me... about us," I worriedly asked because I couldn't afford to lose Sophie again.
"No, dear, it's just that if you really don't want Tara to divorce her and marry me, then we can be free under one roof," she said.
"I can't," she cuts me off.
"I knew you wouldn't accept, because you still love Tara," she said sadly.
"No, it's not that. I mean, we would make all those dreams we planned come true, but at least not now, Sophie; I still have to settle down on something," I explained to her.
I would have loved for Sophie and I to get married, and I'd have done it immediately, but now that Tara is pregnant and she thinks the baby is mine, I can't do anything about it. Only when the baby is out of the picture will I kick Tara out of my life and put my beloved Sophie in.
I looked at Sophie and her sad face, and I cupped her face in my hands.
"I'm only doing what I have to do to secure a great future for us, my darling. I promise to make you my wife and the happiest woman on earth," I said to her, and she smiled, but her smile turned upside down.
"What's the problem now?" I asked her.
"Can you just sleep over at my place?" she asked, and I shook my head.
"You know I have been sleeping at your place for the past five days, and I haven't gone home ever since. Tara won't be happy, and my plan would fail." I said to her
I still need to take all of Tara's property before I can divorce her.
"I don't want to go to my lonely house; if you're not sleeping over, just drop me off at a nearby club so I can get wasted," Sophie said, and I frowned.
"There's no way I'll drop you off at a club if someone takes advantage of you."
"It's better than sleeping alone in my apartment," she punted, and I sighed.
"Fine, how about you come sleepover at my place?" I told her, and her eyes beam with joy.
"What about the other woman?" Sophie said.
"Don't worry, I have a plan," I said, and she squirted, hugged, and gave me a passionate kiss. Something that Tara doesn't do.
A few minutes later, I parked in front of my house.
"I love you, Sophie." I pecked her cheeks, and we enlightened the car.
Sophie and I walked together, side by side, into the house.
Just then Tara emerged, and her gaze met Sophie. I was about to ignore Tara and take Sophie to my room.
"Chad!" Tara called out my name, and I could tell she was angry.
"What do you want, Tara? I'm not in the mood for conversation," I said, and Sophie rolled her eyes.
I saw Tara, and her belly is already on display.
"What do I want?!" She snaps.
"Yes," I said nonchalantly.
"You've been away from your own house for five days; you have a wife and unborn child, and you didn't bother telling me about it," she snapped.
"Save your breath, Tara; you can see that I'm perfectly fine," I said.
She scoffed, "You left me in this condition without telling me your whereabouts, and you only care about yourself."
"I don't have energy for this, Tara; my guest is tired, and she needs rest."
"Where is your guest from?" She eyed my mate.
"You ask too many questions." Tara, it's not good for your condition. Go rest, and we can talk better over breakfast tomorrow."
She was about to oppose, but Sophie interrupted.
"Ah, Chad, my back. I need to get some sleep. Could you please escort me to my room?" I smiled at Sophie when she started executing her own part of the plan.
Sophie held her back in pain, and my wife looked at her worriedly.
"Are you okay?" Tara asked worriedly.
"That's what I'm trying to tell you, Tara. She's a friend of mine from abroad, and she got into an accident on her way to the hotel. I was the only one she knew around, so she called me, and I was with her in the hospital. Now she needs to recover, and I still need to take care of her, so I'll be with her in the room every night until she's ready to leave," I said rather quickly.
"Oh! I'm so sorry," Tara said, and I left her as I pretended to support my mate on her way to the guest room.
