Chapter 18
Gaston pov
"If there was ever a time to find a Luna, it'll be now," my mom kept on increasing my headache.
"Mum, did you really call me right now to tell me that?" I asked her.
"Yes, of course, you're neglecting your Alpha duties, and I'm simply reminding you as a good mother," she says, and I roll my eyes.
"Mum, you could have talked to me better when I got home; you didn't have to call me," I told her.
I drove casually on the narrow road as the streetlights lit up the dark street.
My mom sighed, "I just really wish you could understand me, my son. I just really care about you and the pack."
I sighed "I just left the office; I'll be home soon."
"I just remembered, Gaston, could you help me get my medications from my personal doctor in the hospital? She was supposed to deliver them earlier today, but an emergency came up," she asks me over the phone.
"Alright, mom, just send the doctor's details," I said.
"I will, thanks," she said, ending the call, and I received a message from her.
I turned the car, and I could see the hospital building up ahead.
I pulled up and entered the building. Everyone couldn't help but stare at me, like, what the hell? I'm not an alien, everyone.
I went to the reception office, and the nurses were blushing. I didn't find any of their behaviour attractive, but rather irritating. That's how I feel about all ladies these past few months, and I can't help it. The worst person is Selena; she's been disturbing me more lately about us building a mutual relationship, which I don't see happening even in a billion years, and she's not even close to being a normal guest to me, let alone a friend.
The nurse gave me directions to the doctor's office, and I left, heading to the office. I entered the elevator, and I thank God I was the only one in the elevator this time. I hate crowded elevators, especially with people I'm not familiar with.
I knocked on the door of the doctor's office, and she said I should come in."Good evening, Mr. Gaston, right?" She asked, and I nodded.
"Evening Doctor Evelyn" I sat down and she smiles.
"Your mom told me you were coming over; I'll get the medication in just a minute." The doctor stood up to the shelf and packaged some medications, so I decided to use my phone to pass time.
"This is it," she said, giving me a plastic bag of medication, and I wondered why my mom needs medicine in the first place.
"Doctor, what is this for anyway?" I asked worriedly.
"Since you're her son, I'm sure she won't mind if I tell you, right?" The doctor said, and I nodded.
"Well, your mom has been having constant headaches and she's restless; she complained that she's unable to sleep properly at night and her blood pressure is a bit high, so those medications are to normalise her health state temporarily," the doctor states, and I shake my head.
Mom is stressing herself out because of me. She really needs to take a chill pill.
"Thanks, doctor, I'll make sure she uses her medication and gets enough rest." I stood up and left the room.
On my way back, I was lost in thought, thinking about how I'd put my mom's mind at ease; she's not going to rest until I provide Luna for my pack.
I noticed my surroundings and noticed I was in an unfamiliar place. I must have gone deep in thought. I looked up and saw the big and bold label on the door. BABY FACTORY. I could even hear baby cries.
I took a deep breath to smell my scent back to where I came from, and something familiar hit my nose. I sucked in the scent again, and it was coming from the baby factory room. It smells like bloodline.
I looked around and noticed this place is deserted; maybe people aren't supposed to be here.
I walked into the baby factory, and the smell became stronger. As I followed the scent, I heard someone's footsteps, and when I turned to look at the person, I saw it was a doctor.
He was a bit shaken by my presence. "Who are you?" I asked him.
"I'm supposed to be asking you that," he retorts, and I glare at him.
"Don't talk back at me, man." I warned him with cold eyes, and he was clearly affected by it.
"I'm the doctor in charge," he said rather quickly.
"Take me to where the babies are," I demand, and he leads the way.
We reached a room full of babies, and I noticed the strong smell of my blood lineage.
I quickly rushed to the newly born boy, who was crying non-stop for his mother.
"This baby is from my blood lineage," I said as I slowly rocked the baby cart, trying to stop him from crying.
"We don't know about that, sir."
The baby sobs start to die down.
"What were you about to do to him?" I asked.
"They are to be sold," the doctor said casually.
"What?? What about the child's parents?"
The doctor shrugs.
"Where's the child mother?" I asked, angry at the stupid person who was about to waste the life of my blood lineage on some rich rascals.
"We don't know anything about the baby's parents, sir, even their mother."
"I need to know the mother of this child," I snapped.
"Sir, twenty ladies gave birth today, and I don't know who the child mother is."
"Find her then," I demand, and he frowns.
"They've all been discharged, sir," he said, and I stared in disbelief.
I can't just leave the child here... I don't want to do this, but I have to do it for the child's safety.
"I'll have him."
