Vanessa's POV

We were unable to get everything as it was already becoming late and i need to follow Alex home.

Alex flagged down a taxi and we all got in and told him our direction. He drove off immediately.

We finally got home and i immediately stepped down and ran inside.

The place hasn't changed for a bit, it was still the way i left it.
The paints were already fading but everything was still as it was before i left.

I pushed the door open and ran inside, and true to what Alex said. Mom was laying on the bed with the blanket over her body.

"Mom?" She turned towards my direction.
She has become very skinny, her eyes were ready turning white.

"What's wrong with you?"

"Nessa? Is that you?"

"Her condition is very critical and she has refused taking her drugs saying until she sees you that she won't take the drugs" Alex said behind me.

"Mom is that true? You are supposed to take your drugs first. Why are you doing this to yourself?" I couldn't stop the tears that was running through my cheek.

"Nessa? She called again. Now i feel really bad for leaving. But how was i gonna cope anyway. She was also the reason i left and now I'm regretting that decision.

"Alex, get me her drugs" I told Alex.
I squat beside her bed and used my hand to brush her hair behind her ear.

"Nessa, you're back" Dad said from behind.

"Dad?" I ran to him engulfing him a very tight hug.
I've really missed him more than i can imagine.

"Where have you been? I've missed you so much" he said between sobs.

"I'm sorry for leaving you, But i couldn't stay. Everyone is making mockery of me for dating Jason, so i decided to leave".

"But you should have told us at least. You kept us worried".

"I know and I'm very sorry for leaving".

Alex came back with the drugs and handed it over to me. He quickly left and i know he wants to see Daniella. Alex is a very clingy person and I'm sure Daniella is gonna love him back.

"Dad, did you know that Alex has found his mate?" I asked dad who was sitting close to mother.

"What? Are you serious? Alex has found his mate, when was that?" He asked at once.

"Today, and guess who she is?"

"Who is she?"

"She's my friend" I took the glass of water from the table close to the bed.
I brought mom's head up tenderly, before giving her the drugs.

"I need to go and see her" He stood up and quickly ran out.

Dad is so funny and childish and that was why we all chose him over mom.
He knows how to handle situations unlike mom who would always nag over little things.

Well i still love her. After taking her drugs, i laid her back on the bed before returning the cup back to the table where it was.

"How are you feeling right now?"

"Never been better" she gave a little before closing her eyes.

"You need some rest. I will be back in a second" i told her before walking out.

I need to know what dad would be doing to Alex.
I got to the sitting room right in time to see dad winking at Alex who wouldn't stop blushing.

"So are you gonna stay with us?" Dad asked Daniella who wouldn't stop stealing glances of Deborah and Gabriella like she was expecting them to say something.

But they both chose to ignore her and concentrated on Alex and dad.


Writer's POV

"You don't have to worry, we're gonna do exactly as you said" a voice at the other end of the phone said.

"That's what you kept saying, I've had enough of this nonsense. If you can't kill her then you have no choice but to return my money" she whispered in anger.

She was still on the phone, unknown to her the Alpha already walked in.

He sat down on the sofa close to her.

"This is not gonna work that way. I know her more than you do and she's very cunny and can't be played with" she growled.

"I know exactly what to do, you don't have to worry" the man said before disconnecting the call.

"How dare he end my call without my consent" she snarled.

She finally turned and was shocked to see the Alpha sleeping on the sofa.

"I didn't know you were" she said to him but got no reply.

"Are you sleeping?" She asked again but he wasn't replying.

She breath out in relief when she saw that he was already asleep.

"What if he actually heard the conversation?" Her subconscious mind popped at her.

She quickly went over to where he was and waved her hand over hus face. But just as she predicted, he was asleep.

"Could it be he was in here when i walked in?" She asked herself.

"I'm not sure he heard our conversation" she said to herself in assurance.

She walked out and headed straight to the kitchen.

Few minutes later, she came back holding a tray of food.
She went over to where he was laying and woke him up.

"Wakie, Wakie, sleepy head" she called, planting a soft kiss on his cheek.

"What is it, can't i sleep for a moment without being woken up?" He said grumpily and immediately turned his face to the wall.

"Not when you haven't eaten anything. You need to eat and i brought your food" she brought the tray close to his face.

"Can you perceive the aroma? Yummy, now get up you need to eat".

When she was that he wasn't waking up, she breath out in relief knowing fully well that he didn't hear her conversation on the phone.

She went over to the small table close to the bed and dropped the tray on it before walking out.

What are you still waiting for? We need to find them" Anna said, angrily walking out of the bedroom.

"I've already spoken to my beta, they're gonna find them. So you don't need to worry, let's just go in"


Vanessa's POV

I really can't hide my happiness, seeing dad and Alex acting this way.

I walked back inside to see how mom's feeling.
When i got she was already asleep, snoring lightly.

"Nessa, come over" dad called as i quickly ran to meet them.

"Deborah just told me of how stubborn you are, is it true?"

"No, I'm not stubborn, i just have the guts to say what other can't say and that doesn't mean I'm stubborn" i said, going to sit close to Deborah.

"You're stubborn" She whispered in my ear.

"Why did you say so?"

"Why were you laughing at Isabella when she told you she was pregnant?"

"I laughed doesn't mean I'm stubborn?"

"Then why did you laugh?"

"I really don't know maybe because she was acting childish"

"Nathan might be looking for us" she said.

"That's none of my business, not like he owns me anyway" i told her.

"I'm talking me not you. I'm his maid so i should be in the castle attending to him"

"Yeah you're right, we'll be leaving soon".

I turned to look at dad and Alex. They both look very happy.
