Chapter 43
Andy's POV
Days after the date Bree had with Dominic, she was finally better and back to her usual self. So today we decided to head out to watch a movie. The afternoon sun was warm and bright as we stepped out of the movie theater, the kind of weather that begged for a lazy stroll through the shopping district. Tyler and Emily were already chattering away, lost in some debate about the movie we just watched, while Bree and I trailed a little behind.
The day had been going well, we were just hanging out and trying to make the best of our time. We decided to go shopping and get some snacks in the mall but we got distracted with everything that caught our attention and we were acting like children. I was really enjoying my time when my eyes landed on Rosalie.
My mood immediately turned sour and I tried to walk away so I could avoid her she she would not see me but I was not fast enough. She’d already seen me. I sighed inwardly, trying to brace myself.
“Hey, bestie!” Rosalie’s voice was sugary sweet, and the grin plastered on her face was anything but friendly.
I forced a small, tight smile. “Who? Last I checked, we were no longer friends.”
Rosalie rolled her eyes at my words before she finally looked at me with a sweet smile that I knew was fake plastered on her face. “Oh, right, that’s true. My bad.”
I could feel Bree’s eyes on us, and it wasn’t long before she drifted closer. “You good, Andy?” she asked softly, concern laced in her tone.
I nodded, keeping my focus on Rosalie. “Yeah, I’m fine.”
Bree turned her attention to Rosalie, crossing her arms. “What are you doing here, Rosalie?”
Rosalie smiled innocently. “What do you think they do in the mall? I am obviously doing the same thing as everyone else- shopping.”
Her gaze flicked down to the sleek black Amex card Bree was holding. I saw the flash of recognition in her eyes, and just like that, her expression changed. Greed oozed from her smile. Typical.
“You know,” Rosalie began, her voice dripping with faux sincerity, “things don’t have to be this way. We could go back to being friends. Let’s just put all that old drama behind us.”
I scoffed, unimpressed by her sudden shift. “Oh please, save it would you?” I said to her.
“There is no need for bad blood between us, Andy and you certainly do not have to drag Bree into this with you,” she let out. This bitch was really shameless huh, I thought to myself.
I was about to speak up but Bree beat me to it. “Don’t you dare call me Bree,” Bree let out. “Only people I consider my friend can call me that, to you it’s Brianna,” Bree snarled at her
Rosalie rolled her eyes once again. “Oh please. I have been calling you that since I have known you, you can’t just expect me to stop calling you that.”
“The only reason why you were allowed to call me Bree was because you were friends with Andy but now that we have seen you for the true nasty bitch that you are, you don’t deserve it anymore,” Bree said to her in a cold tone.
“Okay, okay. I’m sorry,” Rosalie apologized and I was stunned because she never apologizes, she was a stuck up bitch.
I wondered why I was ever friends with her.
I was sure now that she was definitely up to something and as if to confirm my suspicions she spoke up. “Let’s get part all of this hmm, Andy. Our friendship is stronger than all of this this,” she said to me and I let out another scoff. But Rosalie wasn’t done. She turned to Bree, her smile turning sharper. “So, can I visit you? And where is your house located?”
Bree blinked, caught off guard. “Why the hell would I tell you that?” she shot back, her tone icy.
Rosalie shrugged, playing it cool. “So we can talk properly. Get everything out in the open and end the animosity. Wouldn’t that be nice?”
Bree gave me a questioning glance, her brow furrowed. She knew what Rosalie was really after, and so did I. Rose had always been the type to latch onto anything- or anyone- who could give her an advantage.
But I had a plan.
“Why not?” I said casually, shrugging. “If Bree is okay with it, then you can come over and we can talk. I can finally get everything off my chest.”
Bree’s eyes widened, clearly not expecting me to say that. She pulled me away from Rosalie that now had a big satisfied smile on her face.
When we were far enough from her, Bree glared at me and finally spoke up. “Andy, what the fuck do you think you are do-“ she started, but I interrupted her with a small smile.
“Calm down Bree,” I said to her in a low voice. “Just trust me. I know what I am doing, you should know me by now.”
A small smile made its way to Bree’s face as it clicked in her head what I was up to. “Ouu, okay. You know I am always up for a little drama,” she said, smirking.
I grinned back. “I know you do, so just play along and see how everything plays out.”
We stopped smiling, composed ourselves and walked back to Rosalie, who looked entirely too pleased with herself. Bree rattled off her address, and Rosalie gave us a satisfied smile. “Perfect. I’ll see you girls soon, then.”
We gave her a polite wave goodbye and rejoined Tyler and Emily, who were still lost in their own world. As we continued going about our day, I was trying to think of a perfect way to execute my plan but with the help of Bree.
The rest of the day went by in a blur, from us shopping to eating and making fun of other people. When we it was already getting late, we bade Tyler and Emily goodbye as we headed home. I could not wait to get home and fill Bree in on the plan that I had. Some things never really change for some people. And Rosalie? She was about to find out just how much things had.
