Chapter 7

Impossible. Right? Oh but it was. In fact, he was sitting right in front of me. I was shell shocked as I processed it all. Bree did mention on the day of the incident that he left shortly before I got back. What a crazy coincidence. Right? Right.

Then could someone tell me why my heart just wouldn't stop racing and thudding loudly in my chest, dulling out the details of their conversation and when I could make out that Bree was introducing me to him, my eyes met his eyes instantly.

A flicker of surprise clouded his features but he brushed it off, almost as soon as I saw it. I almost thought it was in my head. A cold shiver ran down my spine as his eyes raked my body swiftly, almost unnoticeable.

The air shifted and I knew I had to say something before it got too awkward.

Come on. Say something Andy. Ughhh.
I tried to make words but all I could manage was a croak.

Bree's eyes widened at the unladylike sound that escaped my lips.

"Andy, are you okay?" She asked, her hand touching my shoulder and it seemed as though that was all it took to snap me out of the trance I was stuck in.

Shit.

"Uhhh, yes, yes, I'm okay" I said, my words stumbling of each other and I let out an awkward laugh after.

The embarrassment I felt was so obvious. My cheeks were most definitely red. I cleared my throat as if that would erase the last two minutes.

"Sorry, what did you say?" I asked, trying to melt away the awkward air.

"I was just introducing you to my dad…" she trailed off and my eyes snapped back to the man in question.

"I'm sorry for the weirdness. It's nice to meet you Mister Miller" I said, offering a small smile and he mirrored the smile before getting off his chair.

"Andy, it's so nice to finally meet you. I've heard so much about you" he said and I didn't miss the weird look that Bree shot him.
I knew for a fact that they didn't even talk at all, which solidified the fact that he hadn't heard anything about me. But I ignored it and decided to play along to save him from embarrassment.

"All good, I hope," I said with a cheerful tone.

"Of course" he said and chuckled right after.

"Thank you for taking care of Bun-bun all this while" he said and I froze.
Bun-bun?

Bree stiffened.

"What the hell?! I told you not to call me that again" she said as I turned to face her slowly, barely holding back the laughter that was bubbling up my chest.

"Bun-bun?" I asked and she groaned, making the hold on my laughter break apart.

Her father too joined in but stopped the moment Bree shot him a deadly glare.

"Okay, that's it. We're leaving" she announced as she grabbed my hand and began to walk towards the door.

Her father chuckled softly.

"Okay! Andy, please, feel at home and let me know if you need anything. If not me, talk to Violet" he said and I nodded with a smile as Bree finally stopped at the door.

"Thank you, Mister Miller," I said appreciatively.

"Please, call me Jason" he said and I nodded hesitantly, before Bree dragged me out of his study.

I sure as hell wasn't going to call him Jason.

Although I was still reeling from the shock of meeting my hot savior,... I mean, my roommate's father, I still managed to keep my cool.

Plus, I was slowly starting to forget all about it as my attention was becoming solely on the fuming girl in front of me as she led us somewhere I didn't even know yet.

I almost burst into laughter.

"Slow down, Bun-bun" I said and she froze in her steps before whipping around to me. I was barely holding myself together.
It was so hard not to laugh.

"Andy, don't you dare." She warned.

"Don't I dare do what? Huh, Bun-bun?" I said, dramatically walking closer to her.
I could swear I saw smoke coming out of her ears.

Uh oh.

I took two solid steps backwards. She walked closer to me.

"Andrea, where the hell do you think you're going?" She said and I swallowed slowly, examining my environment and my next course of action. Meaning, where the fuck was I going to run to?

The house was so big, I was so sure I would cross the bridge when the time came.
My focus landed back on Bree. Now, to escape her because she looked like she was about to tear me down.

A beat of silence passed between us.

"Shit" I muttered beneath my breath as she launched for me and I quickly circled her and started running to nowhere in particular, making quick decisions about where to turn. I took the stairs back up.
Laughter bubbled from my chest as she ran after me.

Eventually, I stumbled on an open door and my first instinct was to run into what I first assumed was a room.
That was until I walked into it.

I almost gasped. I was greeted with a balcony with an amazing view of the ocean and beach. I could see people having fun and just relaxing. It looked like it was far from the house, enough to not hear the noise but close enough for one to walk to.

I took a deep breath in and I didn't miss the scent of the salty waves and the moisture in the atmosphere. It calmed me.

While I marveled at the sight in front of me, I completely forgot about the fact that I was actually running from Bree.

I had no idea she was behind me until she grabbed my shoulders and made a loud sound in my ear.

I shrieked and almost jumped out of my skin before I realized she was the one.

My heart gripped my chest as I stared at her.

"Shit, you fucking scared me" I said and she laughed.

"You deserve it" she said with a nonchalant shrug.

"Fair enough" I muttered before turning back towards the sight in front of me.

It had me in a chokehold. It was the embodiment of peace and just… freedom.

"Beautiful sight, yeah?" Bree said, not really asking a question and I nodded.

"Really beautiful" I murmured absent mindedly.

"We should probably go pick out our outfits" she said and I frowned.

"Are we going somewhere?" I asked, confusion clouding my features.

A mischievous smile tugged her lips upwards and I sighed. Here we go.

"Oh yes. Yes we are" she replied, looking excited to get core.
