Chapter 27: royal castle

Wearing a cape, Ariel walked around the pack in search of Hera so she can show her the person who can help her out if the pack.
She saw some group of kids playing around and walked up to them.
" Hi kids!" She wave at them with a smile on her face trying not to scare them away.
" Stop calling us kids and how can we help you?" One of the boys with red hair asked rudely and Ariel just smiled faintly at him.
' how can I get angry with a kid like him? ' she thought to herself.
" I'm looking for Hera. Do you know where she is?" Ariel asked as she bent down to their heights.
" Do we look like someone who's friends with Hera?" The red haired boy asked rudely again and Ariel sigh out of disappointment.
" Hera is down there. Just walk straight and turn left. You will find her training there" One of the boy who seemed to be fond of Hera said with Sparks in his eyes.
" Thanks kiddo" Ariel replied as she walked towards and ruffle his hair with a warm smile on her face before walking to the direction given to her.
" Hera!" Ariel called excitedly immediately Hera figure came into view.
" What are you doing here?" Hera asked as she drop the batt in her hand and walked towards Ariel.
" I came here to see you. I actually want you to introduce me to your friend" Ariel replied straight to the point.
" She just left but I already told her about you. She should be back from the hunters meeting in half an hour's time" Hera replied as she offered Ariel a chair to sit.
" Thank you" Ariel said and Hera just looked away.
" You said you are alpha Luca's mate right?" Hera initiates a conversation between them to pass out time before Clarissa returns.
" Yes " Ariel replied with just one word curious about where Hera is driving to.
" Then, have you been to the royal castle?" Hera asked again and a frown appeared on Ariel's face.
"Royal castle? " Ariel replied with a question to be sure of what she hears and Hera nods her head.
" Don't tell me you haven't been to the royal castle" Hera replied as she raised her trimmed brows up suspiciously.
" Erm... I haven't but I heard Lucas talking about it last night but I was feeling sleepy then" Ariel lied because she don't have any idea about the royal castle Hera is talking about.
" Alpha Lucas is from royalty. He is the heir to the throne. He was sent out of the castle to carry out alpha duties because he had refused to choose a mate who will rule beside him. He only have one full moon to return to the castle with his mate or else, his beta will ascend the throne" Hera explained battling her eyelids. Everyone could tell that Hera loves the alpha so much.
" That's why I'm asking you if you have been to the royal castle." Hera added as she grab a stone from the ground and played with it.
Ariel fell into a daze, everything looks so unreal as she felt like someone was reading a mystical werewolf book for her. Full moon, mate , throne all seems so unreal and confusing to her.
"was that why he got me pregnant?" Ariel mumbled under her breath.
" Did you say something?" Hera asked as she couldn't grasp what Ariel mumbled.
" I said it means I will have to come back before the next full moon so that I and Lucas can go to the castle" Ariel lied again and Hera nod her head.
" The next full moon is fifteen days from now. You should go to t city and come back early for the preparation. The process is very long. It's not easy to be an Alpha's mate and being an Alpha's mate and the Luna is what every shewolf is praying for. You sure are lucky" Hera who speak less words talks more today which was unlike her.
" Thank you Hera" Ariel replied and looked at her feet in deep thought.
' It doesn't matter if I'm his mate or pregnant with his child, I'm leaving this place. I don't belong here. I can raise this child alone with the money I have or better still travel out of the country to start a new life. ' Ariel thought to herself as she exhale consecutively. Even if she wants to leave the pack as soon as possible, a part of her wants to stay. A part of her seems to have gotten used to this strange place within days and aching to stay more.
Ariel was still with Hera when Lucas beta Athonio approached them.
A spark lit up in Athonio's eyes when he saw Ariel sitting outside with Hera.
" Hi Ariel" Athonio wave at her with a smile on his face revealing his long canines which made Ariel to almost mistook him for a vampire.
" Beta Athonio" Hera cooed immediately she heard Raphael voice and ran up to him.
" How are you Hera?" Athonio asked and lift Hera up before dropping her down when he got to wear Ariel is sitting.
" Fine beta . Just having a nice time with Ariel" Hera replied pointing her little index finger at Ariel who smiled faintly at Athonio.
" Do you both know each other?" Athonio asked with his eyes wide opened and Ariel and Hera nod their head in unison.
" She's alpha Lucas mate" Hera replied and Ariel felt awkward. She really don't like it when she's being referred to as the asshole mate.
" Yes I know her more than you do" Athonio replied.
" Hera go get me water from the spring to wash my boots. I ran into a swamp while chasing a strange being" Athonio sent Hera away in order to have a private time alone with Ariel.
" Alright beta. I will be back shortly" Hera replied and scurried away leaving Ariel and Athonio in the corner.
' oh goodness, she looks enticing. I can't wait to have a taste of her' Athonio thought to himself as he fixed his gaze on Ariel's fair neck.
