Chapter 29: meeting Clarissa

Not quite long, Hera figure appeared from a distance and Ariel let out a sigh of relief. She really finds it difficult to think about it accept what Athonio said to her. She still has her doubts. Somehow she believes she's the only and first victim of alpha Lucas and she feels there is more to her incidence with the alpha.
' I'm having this doubt maybe because I have been to close to him lately ' Ariel thought to herself and heaved a long sigh.
" Where is the beta?" Hera asked immediately she got to where Ariel is with a bucket of water.
" He left already" Ariel replied
" What a waste of my efforts" Hera sneered and sat next to Ariel.
Who would believe a little girl like her will have such a tongue?
" You are a character" Ariel ruffles her hair and smile at her.
" Your friend is taking so long to come " Ariel said and before she could say her next sentence, Hera point towards a slim tall figure coming from afar.
" That's my friend coming" Hera replied pointing towards Clarissa.
Ariel's heart thumped rapidly in her chest. Her hands twitched and she grab the helm of her shirt. She felt like getting up and walking away but a part of her wants her to stay.
" Are you sure your friend will agree to help me? " Ariel whispered close to Hera's ear and Hera nod her head with smile on her face.
Ariel gulp the lump in her throat and focused her gaze on the woman that was approaching them.
When Hera told Ariel about her friend , Ariel wasn't expecting a woman of her age to be Hera's friend.
She was expecting someone of the age eleven to seventeen and not a beautiful grown up lady.
' her aura is so strong and she is too beautiful to be a werewolf' Ariel thought to herself.
She has been a lover of beauties and finds it difficult to make friends with ugly people that was why Lucas wasn't an exemption because he is a beauty god.
Clarissa stood before Ariel and Hera with her orange hair falling behind her back and her black leather jacket matching her black boots. The black scorpion tattoo in her left wrist made Ariel want to have a tattoo herself.
For some reason, Ariel thought the woman before her is nothing but a strong woman and a domineering one .
"Ariel this is Clarissa my friend" Hera quickly introduced Clarissa to Ariel and both women exchange pleasantries.
" Hera your friend is not bad. Black hair, emerald eyes and perfect cheek bones. What a perfect combination" Clarissa compliments with a sinister smile on her face and Ariel just smiled back at her even when she noticed the lack of warmth in Clarissa's voice .
' this is the first time I'm meeting her. I shouldn't have such bad impression about her' Ariel thought to herself as she fixed her gaze on Clarissa's face.
She still have this feeling that Clarissa will not help judging from her status and the way she speaks.
" You're not bad either miss Clarissa, your hair and eyes are beautiful" Ariel compliments back with her left lip curved upward and making sure not to forget to use the same word Clarissa used for her. According to Ariel, anybody who says her look is not bad instead of using the appropriate word is half a quarter of her look.
Clarissa felt something boiling inside her but she keep it down by just smiling.
' how can I show my true self when I hadn't achieved my goal yet? ' Clarissa thought silently with the devious smile still on her face thereby making her more frightening and charming.
' she's beautiful indeed that's why Lucas chose her as his mate but she's not even as beautiful and outstanding as me' Clarissa thought to herself again as she run her eyes down Ariel's body.
" Hera told me you need my help back to Z town" Clarissa went straight to the point and Ariel nod her head.
Somehow, Ariel feels like the awkwardness between them is gone and they can now talk freely about why they are here . Still she still don't feel comfortable with this woman.
A part of her wants her to go back and look for another means to leave the pack but a part of her wants this woman to help her.
" If I may ask, why do you need someone's help to go back to Z town?" Clarissa asked and Ariel tap her feet on the ground lightly showing her displeasure about the question Clarissa asked.
She really don't like talking about how she got into the pack as she finds it embarrassing and depressing. If she tells her she knows the way to Z town then Clarissa might change her mind about helping her and if she tells her she doesn't know her way back, Clarissa would want to know how she got into the pack which Ariel doesn't like talking about.
' oh no, I'm stuck ' Ariel thought as she use her tongue to count her lower tooth.
" I don't really remember the way back to Z town. I'm afraid I might get lost in the woods if no one accompany me. Besides I'm new to this environment so I need someone who can help me back to Z town" Ariel explained and Clarissa nod her head.
' can you not ask another question again and agree to help me?' Ariel asked silently with a pissed tone.
" I heard you are the Alpha's mate. You could have just ask him to get you back to Z town or he could have asked his beta to accompany or any of the warriors. " Clarissa probed further and Ariel smiled at her.
" I really don't want to bother the alpha with the burden of helping me get back to Z town. He has a lot on his plate already and I don't want to stress him out by adding to it." Ariel explained calmly with the smile not leaving her face.
' bitch!' Clarissa cursed silently.
