CHAPTER 47
“I guess I will figure it out. But since I've waited for a few days now. Isn't it time to see Ryan?” I mumbled to myself as if lost in my own world.
“Yes, it's time I visit her. I need to stop hesitating and do what is necessary for me to do, which is visit her. At least if I made a move and she rejected me, it would be better than not doing anything at all and kicking myself in the foot because I didn't do anything.” I said to myself as I looked through the window in my office.
Now, my assistant office has been relocated to outside of the office while I sit in my office alone.
Looking outside the window while watching the street, I realized that there was no time to waste as everything just moves on.
From my point of standing, I could see how things happened through the window.
Right now a man was crossing the street, but not fast enough and it seemed like the traffic light had a problem as it engaged immediately and before the man could get out of the way, he was hit.
The person that did it came out with great concern in her face, she took the man and drove him to the nearest hospital with people around them gossiping about the situation.
One of the first things I noticed is that the lady in question seemed to be rushing as she wanted to get to her destination on time, while also speeding up.
The second thing I noticed is that after the accident, people gossiped for sometime before dispersing and doing what they were meant to do. Which led to the conclusion that everything just moves on no matter what it is. Thereby making me more resolute about my decision to visit her.
‘These past few days, I've been focusing on work to get these thoughts out of me but I guess it's time to make my move.’ I thought to myself.
Grabbing my phone from the desk, I left the office and headed home straight away.
Getting some things done at the mansion, I entered the car once again as I made my way into the hotel.
“Hello, which hotel number is this lady currently at.” I said as I showed her Ryan's picture.
She wanted to refuse, but before she could refuse, I gave her a tip enough for her to divulge every information she had about Ryan.
With this I was able to get her room number and headed straight for the elevator by the side.
Entering it, I pressed the second-floor and waited patiently as the elevator moved upward. In no time, I got to the second floor and started looking for the number in question.
Looking at each door to see their number, I was able to locate her door. ‘Finally, this is it. Now I just need to go inside, after which the first part of what I wanted to do will be completed. I could only hope and pray she listens to me.’ I thought. If I said I wasn't nervous, it would be a lie as I was quite nervous.
If anyone sees me like this, they would definitely be surprised at how nervous I am at the moment when I gold and make decisions at different meetings almost every time.
“What are you doing here Aiden?” a familiar voice said while also hearing the anger in the voice. It was shocking for me. ‘Is she angry with me?’ I thought to myself which saddened me somewhat.
“Oh, you are back.” I finally replied, surprised.
“Oh, I didn't know you wanted to wait that badly. If that's the case, why don't you go back to your mansion and wait there since you like waiting that much.” Ryan said with clear annoyance on her face.
“I'm sorry, I came to speak to you Ryan,” I said but was cut short by Ryan.
“about what? Aiden, when I left your mansion at the time, I thought I made myself clear that I want out of your life which I did. Everything has ended since the moment I left your mansion." Ryan said, while her voice grew louder and louder as she spoke.
“I know, Ryan. I just want to say that I wasn't sure about my decision at first, but now I am. I know I want you to be in that mansion with me, it feels empty without you. Can you give me a second chance by coming back to the mansion with me?” I asked with a pleading eye.
To be sincere with myself, I'm not even sure I know what I want to say as the right words failed me and I could only say what came to my mind at that moment.
“What? You weren't sure of what you wanted and just in a few days, you are sure?” I scoffed.
“Look, I know I was indecisive about my decision the day you left, but now I'm sure of it. I've been thinking about it since then and I miss you Ryan.” I finally managed to confess what I've been keeping to myself.
I couldn't help but sigh in relief as I considered the fact that I've finally said what I wanted. Now that I've said what I wanted, I decided to leave, but not without saying anything first before I left.
“Please think about what I said, I mean every one of the words I spoke.” I left with this word hanging in the air as I left.
‘I've done what I can't and that's it, but I must not give up hope.’ The fact that I was still able to have a conversation with her although not what I would have wanted still gave me hope.
Walking out of the hotel, I refused to be sad as I walked to my car and drove off.
Getting to my mansion, I prepared a hot tea for myself, although still not fine with the way the conversation went, I decided to do what needs to be done.
