Chapter 22: He needs me

SIMONE'S P.O.V
I smirk and held his face and look at him intently.
"You think I will turn a blind eye and didn't notice your oh-so perfect report? I didn't became a well-known businesswoman if I'm dumb, asshole! Most of all, I will always believe reports from my employees about bosses like yours. Whether they're toxic or sexual harassments. In Lavelle, jerks like the three of you should taste the food in jail. Go and send them to prison. My case is already filed and make sure they won"t get away from your hands or else I will be sending you to jail instead! Am I clear?!"-I said to the security. They nod.
"Yes, chairwoman!"-they said and drag them.
"No ma'am! Spare me! He just blackmailed me also!"
"Don't be stupid, Ms. Secretary, I already reviewed your performance and you are an abusive employee as well. You are a toxic workmate and I don't need someone like you in my company!"-I said. They keep on begging but I didn"t butt an eye for them.
"Emergency meeting at the conference hall everyone. In five minutes!"-I said. They all move and I went to the conference room and wait for all the employees. I look at them intently.
"Now speak. How many interns and employees had been abused by any of them or your other bosses. Don't be afraid and talk."-I said. They look on each other until one of the intern speak.
"He also abuse me sexually, chairwoman. I wanted to file a case against him. I also have a record of their embezzlement. I save it to a USB."-he said.
"And how about the other bosses here? Are they giving you a hard time? Like being a toxic or any of your workmate. Tell me now and I will help you with this matter. Just send email or messages in headquarters. I will always investigate this matter but make sure you're not making stories because I will also punish you with that. Understood?"
"Yes, chairwoman!"-they said. I sigh.
"Contact all the interns who resign or had the same experience and tell them to file a case against Mr. Maron, they'll talk to this branch lawyers. Everyone, I am bossy and dominated but I want you to remember that I don"t tolerate any kind of abuse in my companies whether they"re branches in different countries. Remember that, okay? Do we still have other problems?"-I ask. They smiled and shed their tears. They didn"t expect that I will show them kindness like this. Good thing that I came.
"Chairwoman, we are thankful that you came and investigate yourself. We can now work with peace of mind. We have been worried and shut our mouth even if we witness their bad deeds. We thought you will just believe him because he is the higher ups."
I smile and look at them with honesty and kindness.
"I understand that everyone had their own fears but please remember that we all work together that"s why our company prosper and because of this we can be able to feed our family. Look, even a janitors can send their concerns. Just remember that it should be true, I hate liars, are we clear?"
"Yes ma'am. We will always remember that."
"Okay, thank you everyone. Just talk to the lawyers of this branch if you wanted to sue anyone who show abusive actions against you. As showing our apology for giving everyone a hard time, lunch is on me and your bonus for this month will be doubled. Is that okay with everyone?"-I ask. They nod and even clap their hands in joy.
"Thank you, chairwoman!"-they chorus.
"Okay then, everyone is dismissed. You may go back to your seats."-I said. They all went out and I just waited for the lawyers to came.
"Interview everyone and even those who have the same experience who resigned. Handle their case and I will shoulder their fees. Here"s the evidences of their embezzlement and freeze their accounts. Retrieve all the money and that will be use as a compensation to the employees here. Give the others who doesn't work here a compensation money. Maybe around $10, 000 each of them."
"Okay chairwoman. We will find them."
"How about your statement, chairwoman?"
"Here is my official statement, post it to our social media accounts and to medias as well. Make sure that we will show them our sympathy and we will never tolerate such cases."-I said.
"We heard you, chairwoman. We are thankful that you came, actually the two of us send that email to the headquarters. We thought you have talk to the OIC and he denied that rumor. It"s been a week but we haven't heard anything from you."-she said.
"I'm sorry for that. Lavelle Investment is also facing embezzlement and I have been busy with that case. But when I read the sales report and saw the loops of their sales, that"s when we read the email that you sent to Zyril. I will recruit employees who will just accommodate emails about these kind of issues. That should be better so that we can address those kinds of rumors."-I said.
"Much better chairwoman. Is that all?"
"Yes, you two should go ahead and make sure that we will win this case, okay?"-I said. They stood up.
"Okay ma'am. No problem."-he said. They"re couple and both are corporate lawyers. I stayed here for the moment and start assessing the employees. I have to promote three employees before I went home. Before the office hours ends, I announced the new promoted employees.
"Thank you ma'am!"-they said. I smile.
"The company is rooting for you. Good luck!"-I said.
LURIS'S P.O.V
I sigh when I saw his temperature. It's 40.1 and he experience typhoid fever. The doctor look at me.
"Mr. Wiles, you have to take care of him and watch if he will have seizure or anything. Give him some porridge and these medicines. Good thing I bought some with me just in case. Call me if he's fever are getting higher. He doesn't cough and I don"t hear any wheezing sound in his lungs. Maybe its because he let himself drench in yesterday's rain shower."
"I think so either. Thank you doc. I will call you if nothing is change. The maid will send you out, I'm sorry if I can"t do it myself."-I said.
"It's okay, I understand. Call Mrs. Maxwell and tell her about his situation."-he said. I nod.
"I will. Thanks again, doc."-I said. The maid fetch him and send him out. He look at me.
"Don't disturb her. By tomorrow, I'll be okay. I have a tough body anyway."-he said.
"Tough? Look what happened to you. My goodness cousin, good thing I drop by or else you won't tell anyone right? Should I call aunt then?"
"No. I am okay. You can go home either, the maid will take care of me."-he said. I sigh.
"It's okay. I'll stay. You should eat and drink your medicine."-I said. He nod. After feeding him, he drink his medicine and fall asleep. I went down and a car enters the mansions gate. A woman came out.
"Mrs. Molly?! I am here to drop these documents in Simone's office. Ohh...? Who the hell are you?!"
"You! I remember you! That barbaric woman who broke my phone!"-I said and pointed her.
"Who? Me?! What the heck! How dare you calling me barbaric! I said who are you?! What are you doing here in Simone"s house!"-she ask.
"I am her husband's cousin! Wait, and you?! What are you doing here? Who the hell are you?"-I ask.
"I'm her secretary. Ah, never mind. Back off, I will just put this in her office and leave afterwards. I don't have time to a rude man like you."-she said. She walk away and get inside. I decided to wait for her and talk to her again. She look at me as he saw me kneeling on her car's door. She smirk.
"What do you want?! Move away!"-she said.
"Wait, tell this to your cold boss of yours that she is making my cousin miserable! My cousin is innocent and because of her, my cousin is now sick. She even use her company to torture my cousin, hah! Tell her that."-I said and pointed my finger on her. I move away and get inside the house. I didn't wait for her answer. I hope Simone will show care to my cousin and she better go home as soon as possible. Even if Russell hide it but I know he wanted to be nurse by his wife. After all he said himself that he already misses his wife. I sigh and open their room.
"I hope she will come home for you, Russell."
SIMONE'S P.O.V
I"ll go home tomorrow and I planned to stroll around and buy something for everyone. I am having a good time when Zyril called me.
"Hello, Zyril. Is there a problem?"-I said.
"Did Sir Russell contact you these past few days?"
"No. Maybe he really wanted to give me space."
"Actually, when I send some papers in your house, I meet that rude—I mean his cousin. He said that he was there nursing Sir Russell. He is sick, Simone."
"What?! Okay, thank you. I'll go home now. Call the pilot of our jet plane. He need to fetch me here as soon as possible!"-I said.
"I'm on it. Go and pack your things then, okay?"
"Okay. Bye-bye."-I said. I went back in the hotel. In two hour, the jet plane arrive in the rooftop of the hotel. I get in and went back to our country.
'You should"ve call me, Russell. Are you really that serious when you said that we should see each other as strangers? Oh my, I should've approach him instead.'
We reach the country after two hours and Zyril is already waiting for me. I open the car and they put my luggage"s on the trunk. She look at me.
"Good thing you went home as soon as possible."
"Thank you for letting me know. Let's go."-I said. She drove the car as fast as she can and in half an hour, we reach the mansion. The maid saw me.
"Ms. Simone. Good thing your home. Sir Russell needed you. His cousin is with him upstairs."
"Thank you, Mrs. Molly. Zyril, help her in unpacking my luggage's, is that okay?"-I ask.
"No worries. Go upstairs. He needed you."
"Thanks."-I said. He needed me yet he still have the pride to hide it from me. I open the door.
"Is that you Mrs. Molly? Did you bring the food?"
When he look down, he saw me. I ran upstairs and saw him lying on the bed. His cousin speak.
"You are here. I guess that barbaric woman had a heart because she relay my words to you."
"Is he getting better?"-I ask.
"Not really. But this morning he experience typhoid fever. But his temperature is still high around 38.9 Celsius."-he said. I put down my coat and bag. I put my palm in head and the other one is to his.
"He is indeed had a fever. Did you call our family doctor?"-I ask. He nod. I saw the medicines.
"He didn't want to call you because he wanted to give you space. And yesterday night, he came to me and we had a drink because he feels bad about how he made you mad. As well as the fact that he needs to give you space. He must have caught the down pour last night."-he said. I sigh and look at him.
"Good thing you're here. Thanks by the way."
"Tell me Simone. Are you trying to make my cousin suffer? When he said that he didn't do it, then that's true. Is this your way of dominating him?"-he ask.
