Chapter 45: Vivian's plans

Russell's POV
I know she is trying her best to stop Vivian from playing a fake video of coach Fallon in front of everyone. "I'm worried about Vivian's plan. She is telling me to pass the torch to others and not you or else..." I put my hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry, coach. My wife will keep her promise. Let's focus on the games and hope that every athlete gets the chance to have any of the three medals," I stated. He smiled and nodded. "Okay, get ready. Your moment to shine starts now." I laugh when she winks at me. "Love you," I mumbled.
The emcee steps onto the stage and looks into everyone's eyes. "Good day, all over the world!" he screamed. "Aaahhhhh!" the audience screamed. "Tonight and the next days, we will witness the skills, talent, and abilities of our dear athletes as they aimed the gold medals in their respective areas of specialization. We are very happy that our country holds this year's Summer Olympics. Let's all light up our magic cauldron and start making magic potions!" he says.
Everyone laughed because of his jokes. He coughs. "Just kidding. Let's call on our national athlete, who is known for his brilliance as a swimmer. Let's welcome Russell Maxwell for lighting up the cauldron and holding the magic ladle. Oh, sorry. The last joke, I promise. Let's all begin the night!" he screams. I grab the torch and the camera focused on me. I went to the center and put the torch on the fire.
"Let's all enjoy the Olympic games this year, everyone!" I screamed and step onto the platform. It starts to move higher. As soon as I took two steps, I ignite the fire in the cauldron. Everyone screams and claps their hands as the sky lights up with the drones and fireworks.
I smiled and stayed here in the meantime. "I will win and get the gold medal. For the people who believe and protected this day for me and coach Fallon," I whispered. The platform move down and the event started. The athletes who will compete in Karate, skateboarding, sports climbing, and surfboarding.
I saw a familiar figure. It's Edzen, and he seems to be waiting for me. "Enjoying the limelight?" he asks sarcastically. I smirk. "I have been in a limelight for years. I know you won't meet me up in this corner for nothing," I stated. He laughs. "I haven't given her up. So you better accept Vivian or else you will drag Simone down. That's my warning," he said and turn his back on me. I smiled.
"You didn't know me yet, Edzen. I can be scary when I want to," I whispered and continued walking back to where everyone was seated. She smiled and walk toward me. "Congratulation, love." I smiled. "Thanks. But the competition will start on this day onward." My dad looked at me. "That, Vivian. She looks exactly like her aunt. But they have the same glances. The way she looks at you is how her aunt looks at me," dad says.
"Yes, I notice that either, Paulo. I was watching her and I hate how she looks at my son-in-law," daddy Alberto. "It's your fault because you're beautiful," she mumbles in my ears. They laugh. "We heard that. You should say handsome. My goodness," Dana says. I laugh. "Uhm, by the way. I already started my next move," she says. "You're what?" Zyril asks.
"I already filed a case against her and TOR from her. Mrs. Fallon is already holding her anger against her, and I have to repay her for her help. I owe her a lot already," she says. "Then we better keep our promise to my coach. I also owe her my success in swimming," I mumbled. She nodded. We stayed for a while and watch the game and before 10, we all went home. In the mansion, I notice that she’s restless. I know she's worried.
Simone's POV
I bite my lower lip when I saw the messages that Vivian send to coach Fallon. I know he's already stressed out and he might collapse because of hypertension. Maybe I will use my next pawns. I dialed one of my men's numbers. "Hello? This is your ma'am Simone. I want you to send that box already and make sure she'll tremble, understood?" I look around and make sure he didn't hear me.
"Yes, ma'am. Understood," he says. "Good. This dinner, I want you to send that flash drive next," I added. "Okay, ma'am. Is that all?" he asks. "Add a black rose along with the flash drive. Just like the first one, wrap it like a special gift." I smirk and I knew she'll yell for the last one. For today. "Copy, ma'am Simone." I ended the call and turn around. That's when he appeared in that corner."You hear everything, aren't you?" I ask. He nodded. I sigh. "I'm sorry if you heard how despicable I am," I mumbled and turn around.
I didn't want him to see my nasty side. But his warm hug is the next thing he does. "I love you, no matter how despicable you are." That made me smile and place my hands on his. I lean on him. "Today is your first competition, right? What time is it again?" I ask. "It's 3 in the afternoon. Make sure that you are present. Mom and dad say they'll be there too. This time dad won't miss a single round of my competition," he proudly says. I smiled.
"I'm happy for you. Of course, I won't miss a single thing. This is my first time watching you live in a competition. I will be there cheering you, I promise." He turns me around to face him. "No matter what kind of tricks you will use against Vivian, I'm fine with it. As long as you promise me that you are safe, okay?" he looks at me softly. "I promise, Sir." He laughs. We went downstairs to eat breakfast.
He says that he will visit coach Fallon after I told him what kind of shit did Vivian send last night. It's a picture of coach Fallon's son in a coffin. It's edited, of course, but she also sends pictures of him getting onto his school bus. That's why I postmen that will guard them secretly. Each of them, I already send a message to coach Fallon that I'll take care of his son’s safety. But I know as a parent he is still worried.
"Are you sure you didn't want to ask the police to arrest her? She is insane! She even uses the kid's safety to control coach Fallon!" Zyril says. I can tell how mad she is. "Don't worry, I already send her my gifts," I mumbled and smirked. When 2 pm arrived, Zyril and I went off to the stadium. Our family is already present in the seats that were reserved for us. "We thought you wouldn't come," Jackson mumbles.
"Of course, I'll come over. This is his first competition," I replied. He smiled. "Let's all start the first round of the swimming competition. Athletes, on your posts!" the emcee says. They all aligned. He is on the second batch. This is a 50-meter dash. As soon as they heard the gunshot, they all dive in and stroke their hands the fastest they can. The first batch, the top 3, just point seconds in their time.
The first took 1 minute and 32.3 seconds. The second one had 1 minute 33.7 seconds and the last one had 1 minute 34.1 seconds. That is close. The second batch lined up. I raise my placard and I knew he saw it because it has lights. I ask Zyril to find a shop that will organize my cheering placard. He smiled when he saw me. I gave him a finger heart and they look at me.
"It looks like our chairman and one of the main sponsors are cheering her husband sweetly!" the emcee says. I blush but I still continue cheering for him. "Ready...!" he says. He raises his gun and they all settle themselves. "Go!" he pulled the trigger and my eyes widened when they all dive into the water. "Oh, no!" they yell.
