My friend Andre sent a signal to his friend. “Yo Philip, that's my guy let us through” and this lump of a human being signaled with his hands back. “Ok bro… let them in” people in the crowd didn’t seem to be happy about this.

As we moved upstairs the volume of the music increased and played through the walls as we passed through the smoke clouds everywhere leading to the entrance of the room where the party was held.
On the stairs, I saw people kissing, lesbians, straight people, and homosexuals alike. They didn’t seem to care that I was staring at them. They seem to be very into what they were doing at the moment.

Andre shouted at me “ I am about to go meet up with some of my friends… go on take this “ he said, “ put it in your mouth it will loosen you up”. I first thought myself for a few seconds if I was going to make the decision to put drugs in my mouth at that instant,
because I've heard stories of people going crazy from taking drugs and ending up beside the dumpster or some story about someone getting raped or dead in the road like a Texas roadkill and I did not want to be a part of it,
although a part of me did wanted to experiment and see what's ecstasy tastes like. I kept it in my pocket just in case I needed it later. I'm nodded in acceptance to him to his words “ok bro”, as he told me “I'm going to meet you later I want to meet up with some of my guys at that corner… try to enjoy yourself James”
I saw a lot of things that night, like people taking pots, people dancing naked by themselves in an unfashionable manner. Some guy was so intoxicated he kept dancing by himself on the wall, it was as if he was dancing sensually with the wall and seemed to be slightly kissing it.
I laugh so hard. I got greeted with loud bass music pumping through my rib cages into my heart. I was mostly distracted because I was seeing a lot of wild things that night.

I have never attended such a party before. This concept seemed so new to me. Everybody was so intoxicated and cared less about the consequences of their actions. . Bring something that they never want to be caught doing in public.
I knew that I was in a provocative environment and everybody was either drinking, kissing, or dancing so loudly. I got tired from dancing like a crazed monkey so I went to find a couch to sit on while I was slowly sipping my alcohol.

Though I was quite tipsy, I finally found a couch to sit on but a problem arose as I saw the purple-haired girl sitting there. I had to make a decision fast because if I stalled my seat could be taken by someone else as all other seats take and the party was short on chairs to sit on.
I staggered to sit beside her. It seemed like she recognized me from today. There was an awkward silence for a while till I shouted to her “ Thank you for today… with the big guy and not letting me get beat up”.
“ You are welcome, “ she said, nodding at me in acknowledgment. “But you never told me why you were staring at me today, “ she said with a crooked smile. I smiled in my awkwardness and said “ you caught my eye, never seen anyone work so well with the color purple”.
She smiled with her eyebrows raised and pondered how the awkward boy could muscle up some pick-up lines. Then I asked her why she defended me against that monster of a guy about to pummel my face in.

And she said I reminded her of her little brother, who always got in trouble with people bigger than him. After much silence She said “So my name is Emma, what’s yours ?”, Stretching her hand out for a handshake.
I told her my name was James and we started talking more from there. I don’t know if it was the alcohol but I felt like a smooth talker. I made her laugh a lot and we shared some experiences from high school and
talked about our hopes for the future in college and we further bonded over our love for anime and Japanese animation culture. I invited him for a dance and she responded with “sure let’s do it “.
