he looked at me with the side of his eyes and hoped for a response that Favour’s him
By the afternoon I got dressed, got in my dad’s car and we drove to the country club onto
the golf course. Even though I hate it, I helped and followed my dad regardless of the
course. my dad made me carry all the clubs And Bags why did you the golf cart around
and smoke Cuban cigars with his friends
“Pick up the pace boy. I’m trying not to embarrass me please”
“Don’t touch and don’t do anything I did not say you should do”
I was so tired of him because most times I felt like my family was always bullying me and
my choices.
I was so upset with him because I know he has been cheating on Mum.
For someone who scolded me about making bad decisions.
He's making a lot of bad decisions in his marriage.
The only thing important to him is his country club and his company. I can bet that I am not
as important to him.
We were closer to where his friends were playing. I left him with his friends who had made
their bets and wagered on the games. I didn’t have much love for golf so I sneaked out to
talk to the other caddies.
“Hey Rich kid what’s up, Thou art bestowed us with your presence. I am humbled”
The first caddie teases laughing at me
“So you want to see how real men get to work… I am sure you never worked a day in your
life”
There were three of them. One came up to me and stretched their hand for a handshake.
“Don’t mind levie. He's a nice guy but is playful sometimes though.” He seemed so nice
and dependable.
“What’s your name again?” he asked
“James… I’m James”. He used his elbow to hit the last person so he spoke up. Then
introduces me to the last of them all. “This is Levie’s brother Cameron…he is quite the shy
one . I am Happy by the way” smiling at me and setting the tone for the conversation.
“You mean Happy as in your name is Happy?”
“Yes sir the one and only” he winked,
He seemed like the charming type, someone everybody will just follow because of his
charming personality.
“How did you get that name though? it’s not so common”.
“Well my parents said they gave me that name because when I was born instead of crying
I kind of laughed”
“ Hi…hi I am Cameron nice to meet you” the shy one replied.
“So how long have you been a caddie?” Moves back to the position before his boss
notices.
“Well my father is making me do this as punishment for getting in trouble”
“Oh wow, some punishment this is. To us, this is what we used to make money”
They seem offended. They had this very judgemental look on their faces.
Happy tries to break the ice and says “well we all can’t be billionaires children”
“Hey, Caddie club six” a man called for Happy. It seemed like it was his boss because of
how quickly he ran towards the cart to answer him. “So how does this work, yeah,” I asked
Levie.
“ So you guys just wait and get called to drive or bring a golf club”.
“And fetch balls too” levie answered.
You see the thorny plants there… if a ball falls in there you’re going to go down and get
pricked and they don’t care because it's your job”

“Oh damn… you guys have bad like that”
“Yeah Occupational Hazard”
“But at least we get to meet some rich cougars in this country club and you can’t get
invited to one of the richest exclusive parties in the country ” levie laughed.
I can sense that this dude was a jerk. And maybe not the smartest of his crew. He's
probably jealous and wants to be rich so badly. Cameron just today silently did not say
anything. I'm sure he gets beat up and bullied a lot by his older brother. Levi had a devious
look on his face. Because I didn’t think these boys were my type of people I didn’t say
anything. I just waited for my dad to call me whenever needed.
“James come here! And Bring the bag of the clubs will yah” my dad called.
“I see you’re making new friends, that's good, maybe they can teach you one or two
things. Some of them here are not as privileged as you. yes, this looks all rich but some
people here are workers, and family means would not waste opportunities that you are
misusing” I gave him the club he wanted then I went back to where the boys were staying.
This time, Happy was back. “So what’s up you should come with us to the staff party since
you are a staff now.” I was to come back to the country club later that night and meet up
with Happy and his gang.
Hi, Lil wants to meet up with my father after talking or I’m going out with my new friends.
When I got to the counter to search for my dad I saw him floating with this young lady who
looked half his age. She was probably my age. I was drinking a soda in my hand. So I got
closer to her and fake tripped and poured some soda on a dress. While she was flirting
with my dad she then noticed her dress had just been stained.
“Oh, I’m sorry… I’m sorry…sorry can I clean it for you. ``My dad looked down on me
furiously because he knew I had done this out of spite. I was upset seeing him with
somebody other than my mother.
“Oh my gosh this was a new dress I just got yesterday” she screamed.
“Sorry, this is my son I’ll pay for the dress” reaching down his pocket. He brought out about
$1000 and gave it to her.
Instantly she goes silent and starts counting your money.
“This won’t be enough Mr. hoodwink this was silk,” She said and could see the greed in
her eyes. She’s probably a Golddigger.
He called me to the side “ what’s wrong with you boy!” Holding my left ear. I shove his
hands away. He was so shocked at how defiant I was.
“So this is a treat mom nowadays … I have always been so silent all this time. but this time
I would not”
He just stood there silent trying to shut me up so as not to make a scene.
“Hush, stop making so much of a scene! Do you want to air out our family laundry in front
of all these people”
Now he proceeded to drag me outside of the country club to the closest car.
People kept staring at us even though I’m sure most of them knew what was happening. I
wanted him to be embarrassed so that he would not think of doing it again.
“Can you be a quiet boy? And calm down.” He had to push me to the corner
“No I will not be quiet all your friends you know how much of a cheat you are”
“You claim to be so perfect now you have to calm down from your high horse and solve
your family issues”
“You and mom don’t even see each other for months sometimes and you I guess flirting
with some random bimbo”
Now he’s trying to not let the whole situation cascade.
“let me talk to you in the car” dragging me by my wrist to the car.
“At least would you allow me to explain the situation at hand” now it seems like he was
begging me to stop making a scene?
