'Why'
That was her thought. She recalled what Andrew told me the day he requested to become her contracted husband. He said we would see his father but we never did. She was slightly scared. Would his father like her? She was not a classy woman, she wasn't bred from a home where they ate with cutlery, she lost her parents at an early age and had to struggle through life's turmoils, she had to work hard to stay alive, she wasn't taught etiquette or manners of a noble. It quite frightened her that he might reject her, he might like her appearance as a beautiful, young woman but.
There was a 'But', the next questions would be about her background, where was she from? Who were her parents? Does she have any inheritance attached to her surname? He was a billionaire and wealthy people always have an apprehension about less privileged people. Pearl found hope, joy, and happiness being with Andrew, eating with him, kissing him, their lovely moments meant the world to and losing him would tear her heart to shreds.
Would he fight for their love? that was the million-dollar question.

A familiar faint voice echoed in her eyes and she snapped out of her reverie.
"Yes!" Pearl blurted out and flung backward, the hair hanging over her shoulders.
Andrew smiled at me and took my hand"We should get going".
"I will see you guys later then, I have to get back to work, I don't want to get fired" Ivan jokes, his humorous tone made them laugh including Mark, the investigator.
"Says the one who owns the hospital!"Pearl laughed, she felt a little relieved, the more she laughed, the better her nerves were.

Andrew smiled at the back view of his friend as he sauntered away, he turned his gaze to the investigator who must have been waiting for his dismissal.
" Thanks for the help, Mark" Andrew smiled and shook hands with him.
Mark said goodbye to Pearl and left.
Pearl turned to Andrew who had a warm smile on his lips but behind that smile was lingering bewilderment. His eyes had a bit of doubt lurking in them.
"I trust you, Andrew, I don't know what Kylie is saying but - but I know that you are a wonderful man _between the short period I have been with you, you have been one of the best things that ever happened to me, you saved me, if you hadn't come along like a knight in shining armor to my rescue, I can't even imagine what would have become of me, "Pearl said, her words made his heart pound within his chest, there was a magnetic attraction he had towards her.
His heart was beating out of love not hurt, he knew this woman had done something to him, maybe a jinx, he didn't expect to feel this way in such a short period, she had already made his heart flutter, her endearing words and attitude almost made him blush, Jennifer never said any of those lovely things to him, it was all about money and sex to her nothing more, he was certain that even if he went bankrupt and had nothing but crumbs to eat, Pearl would still stay with him,... his Blue.
"I am so happy that you believe me" Andrew smiled and kissed her lips, he snuggled the bridge of his nose with hers, and Pearl laughed loudly.
"We are still in the hospital" Andrew smiled, and he pulled her away from there.

"Is your dad nice?" Pearl couldn't help asking if he was a grumpy old man, she needed to know how to converse and behave around him.
Andrew snickered and decided to lie "My father, Mr. Jones is grumpy and a hot-tempered man, he looked down on people and trampled on them using their weaknesses, a dad is a cruel man and that was why I decided to be poor but he later accepted me back when he realized his mistake, Mr. Jones hates poor people, he can't tolerate them… "
Pearl wasn't listening to him anymore, she suddenly yelled out" Why does my life have to be complicated, why can't ever have things go smoothly? Geez! "
Andrew swallowed hard, he was taken aback by her outburst, and he squinched as she ranted.
" Your dad is mean, he would separate us? What if we end up like those couples in Indian movies or Latin movies? "She clasped her hands around his.''What would we do by then Andrew? Would you fight for our love?"
She sounded like a motivational speaker, he burst into laughter bringing her chatter to a stop.
"What's funny?"
"I was only joking, Dad is the nicest person you could ever meet" He laughed at her naivety.

She pounced on him and slapped him playfully.

Joan stared blankly at the food on his plate, he wasn't in the mood of eating, he missed someone, and he missed her a lot.
He was a muscular guy, he had a beard that was well trimmed and fit his gorgeous looks like his cousin, Andrew, he was handsome and sexy, and his muscles made him more attractive in terms of physique but in terms of manliness, aura, and Beauty, Andrew beat him in that, Joan's fashion was one of a kind.
"Eat Joan and stop sulking" His grandpa stared at him and shook his head, Andrew's father had an urgent call and had to leave, so Grandpa would stay in his place to welcome Andrew and Pearl.
"Let me be," Joan pouted his pale lips.
The doorbell rang and the maid rushed to open the door. Joan heard the movements but didn't bother raising his head. He was of a sad countenance.
"Hi grandpa"
He lifted his gaze at Andrew but the next person he saw drew a wide smile to his lips.
Her eyes were different but she always used lenses of different colors, he had been looking for her for a long time.
"Bestie!" Joan yelled and sprang up.
Andrew thought he was coming to hug him but he hugged Pearl instead, Pearl's eyes bulged in shock. Andrew and Grandpa were stupefied.
Pearl didn't understand anything, Andrew told her about how nice his family was but she wasn't expecting this. Joan broke the hug and cupped her face.
Joan pleaded "Bestie, I am so sorry for what I did, please forgive me"
Pearl was blank, she had no idea what he was saying. Joan was more than excited, he missed her like an eternity.
Joan cupped her cheeks and his lips suddenly surged towards her lips.
