"Hi, Leilah"
Pearl heard what he called her and she was extremely shocked, no one except her siblings and late parents knew her by that name, once she and Kylie were taken in, their names were changed. Kylie might not even remember her real name.
"What did you just call me?" Pearl gasped and stared hatefully at him.
That kind of hate is understandable, it didn't look momentarily but permanent.
"Excuse me" Emma bowed slightly and left the office.
"Leilah, we have got a lot to talk about, I know that this is hard for you because I have done a lot of stupid things against you, our sister but… I am sorry, I was just carried away by my vindictiveness" Dimitri said in a wistful tone.
" You are nothing but a kidnapper who thought he could get revenge on my husband by kidnapping my sister thinking it was me, you are nothing but a callous bastard!" Pearl yelled and slammed her hand angrily on the table.
"Leilah, I know that I made a huge mistake, we all make mistakes," Dimitri said on the verge of tears. "But trust me, I wasn't that kind of man. Andrew ripped me off all my money, my company is gone. I have nothing"
"Andrew would never do that" Pearl sprang up and defended her husband.
Dimitri shook his head and licked his dry lips.
"Leilah look at me, I have nothing. He has made me lose every penny that I have worked for, all that I inherited except the mansion is gone" Dimitri yelled.
Pearl stared at him and he looked wretched, his clothes were rumbled and a bit dirty and his hair was rough and spiky like he had not combed for days.
Pearl smirked" Don't you think that you deserve it, you deserve to be penniless and left with nothing. that's what people like you deserve, you slept with Andrew's ex-wife and you rubbed it in his face. You are lucky to still be breathing "
"I admit that I was wrong for sleeping with Jennifer, I know that I made a huge error but he didn't have to strip me of everything, I am so miserable," Dimitri said and a lone tear fell from his eye.
"That's why you are here," Pearl said with sarcasm. "You are here so that Andrew would give you a second chance or would return what he had taken"
"Leilah—"
"Don't call me Leilah, my name is Pearl Jones, not Leilah and I know that you aren't my brother, so cut the crap off my brother coming back to life" Pearl snapped in an infuriated manner.
"You are my sister, I am Kelvin" Dimitri yelled in exasperation. "I am your long lost younger brother, that's me"
Pearl shook her head, he couldn't be her brother. If he was their brother and he had a lot of money, why didn't he look for them?
"I looked for both of you, I hired private investigators searching the whole of California for you and even beyond but there was no record of your names" Dimitri argued like heard her thoughts.
"I swear, it's me Leilah" Dimitri whispered.
He stared into her eyes hoping that she would believe him and give him a chance to redeem himself and apologize for all the harm he had caused, she still had those beautiful blue eyes. How could he not recognize her? Maybe because there are over a million women with blue eyes.
Pearl sighed "Don't call me Leilah again and I won't fall for your lies anymore in fact I have heard enough"
"I can show you my birthmark, I can prove to you that we are siblings if you just give me a chance"
"Give you a chance, give a kidnapper a chance" Pearl scoffed. "It's so convenient for you to appear out of the blue with a stupid birthmark and call yourself my brother"
"I see this as good timing, don't you think?"
"What are you talking about?" Dimitri stared at her in confusion.
"You think that I wouldn't read between the lines or read the handwriting on the wall because you call yourself my brother, I know what creeps the like you are after" Pearl glared at him.
"And according to you what are creeps after?"
"Money" Pearl snarled. "You need me to talk to Andrew so that he can give you back your company, this company"
"Or am I wrong?"
"That is not why I am here, I just want us to come together like before, remember? like three musketeers, like chipmunks" Dimitri muttered in tears.
Pearl recalled that Kelvin always said that, it shocked her but she was not ready to believe him, he had money, and he might have done his research on her background.
"I think that I have heard enough nonsense from you, so please get yourself out of my office," Pearl said calmly.
"Leilah give me a chance, please"
"Dimitri, get out of my office or I will call the security officials to do that" Pearl warned, her beautiful face looking extremely angry and red.
Dimitri was sad that she refused to believe him or give him a chance.
"You are nothing but a gold-digging bastard who thinks that his words can make up for his mistakes but you are so wrong because you would spend a long time in jail" Pearl snarled.
"Get out!" Pearl yelled and he flinched.
Dimitri sighed and sauntered out of the office, crestfallen.
"Emma!!!" Pearl screamed.
Emma ran into the office with a frightened face.
"Let this be the last time that you would allow that bastard into this office, is that understood?" Pearl shrieked without knowing it.
"Y–yes Mrs. Jones"
"If you sight him near the vicinity make sure to call the cops and have him arrested and if he tries anything funny, weapons are available to keep a criminal in check"
"I… am sorry about that…it won't happen again" She stuttered and rushed out of the office.
Pearl exhaled and inhaled sharply, her heart was pounding within her chest like she was going to have a panic attack.
"Oh God" Pearl sighed and sat down heavily.
She fell into deep thoughts after that, she couldn't help but think of Dimitri's words but a knock interrupted her thoughts.
"Come in"
Emma walked still shocked by the scolding she received earlier.
"Emma, I'm sorry for reacting in such an abrasive way. I'm sorry" Pearl apologized.
Emma smiled and dismissed any thought of a grudge.

Pearl reached the large grocery store, one of the largest stores around.
"Both of you should stay far from me" Pearl ordered the two male, hefty and handsome bodyguards.
"We were ordered by Mr. Jones…"
"I don't care because you are under my control now and my number rule is for you to stay miles away from me, I hate it when I am watched and overly protected, it gets tiresome" Pearl frowned and walked away.
She walked to the foodstuff department and started picking up some food items and putting them into the shopping trolley.
"Spaghetti" She muttered and picked up four packs.
She bit her bottom lip and looked around, the guards had followed her orders.
'like the three musketeers, the chipmunks'
Pearl sighed she mistakenly dropped the cup of butter on the floor and it rolled.
"Shit!" She ran after it and it stopped at someone's feet. The man picked it up.
"Sir, that's my butter, " Pearl said and he turned to her.
Handsome, attractive, a hot devil, those are not the words to describe him because there aren't enough adjectives to describe how handsome he is, beautiful light blue-eyed, with a chiseled and well-shaped jaw, his long hair that was packed upwards making him look more like a girl. He had thick, sharpened eyebrows and his lips were rosy.
"I don't think this is yours" He argued, his voice was out of this world.
Pearl frowned "It's mine and it rolled to your feet"
She didn't care if he was handsome, she had Andrew who was handsome as well.
He smirked and grasped her hand, it made her shudder, and tried retracting her hand but he held it.
"You've got soft hands" He smiled handsomely. "Anyways, my name is Derek"
"I don't want to know, please give me back my butter" Pearl pouted, if only she knew how enchanting and cute she looked.
"I won't till you tell me your name" Derek smiled.
Pearl rolled her eyes "My name is Pearl"
'An amazing name for a beautiful damsel like you' Derek thought but said something else.
"Nice name"
"Now my butter"
"Can I get your number?" Derek asked, being attracted to her.
"You can't get my number because I am already taken, so back off" Pearl grabbed the butter from him and tried walking away but he held back her hand.
"I forgot to say something, I love your blue eyes, they are really pretty and sparkle like a gem" He complimented and Pearl couldn't stop herself from smiling warmly.
'She's blushing' Andrew thought while gazing jealousy at them.
