Kiss me, Lilith)
"How was your wedding night, Brother? I hope Lilith didn't try to harm you," Jareth said as he
picked up the scroll from the table.
"Why are you prying into my personal affairs, Jareth? Such questions don't suit you," Apollyon
replied, snatching the scroll back. "Since you enjoyed the wedding and the feast, shouldn't you
and Ragnar leave?" He arched an eyebrow at Jareth.
"I heard from Karin that a strange group of humans showed their appearance near the palace.
Sorcerers specifically," Jareth said. "Why did you ask them to stop the search?" He asked.
"Because it was a waste of energy and effort, Jareth," Apollyon replied.
"Shouldn't you at least find them out and kill them before they do something against us?" Jareth
inquired.
"They cannot seal us this time," Apollyon affirmed. "Now, you two should leave. I don't like to be
annoyed by your presence," he remarked and stood on the tall chair.
Ragnar glanced at Jareth, urging him they should leave.
"Lilith will betray you. I saw her in the morning. The gaze she carries for us irks me," Jareth
muttered. Indirectly, he was telling Apollyon to throw Lilith out of his life, before would do so.
"Jareth, you are lucky that I didn't send you to hell for going near Lilith, threatening her,"
Apollyon stated, his eyes shone red since he was angry.
"Well, I was curious to understand what attracted you to that woman. Besides, don't forget that
Elena has yet to arrive. Can Lilith handle her wrath when she meets Elena? And let's not forget
about Mother. That's why we might need to be prepared and you may need us," Jareth said,
forcing a smile.
"Why would Elena be here? I don't understand why all of you do not want me to live peacefully,"
Apollyon expressed his distress and pressed his fingers against his forehead.
"Pardon me for intruding on Your Majesty, but the Queen is outside," the servant informed
Apollyon.
"Let her in," Apollyon instructed the servant.
In a few seconds, Lilith entered the room and was surprised by the sight of three devil before
her.
"Lilith, you will live long. We were talking about you," Jareth stated.
"Will Jareth and Ragnar leave us alone? I want to talk privately with Apollyon," Lilith affirmed.
She didn't request them. Instead, Lilith showed the authority she had after becoming the Queen.
Ragnar stepped out first, followed by Jareth.
As the door shut, Lilith shifted her gaze at Apollyon, who was smiling at her. "I like the way you
order," he said and gazed at her neck. Lilith had worn the pendant, which delighted him.
"I want you to remove this mark from my neck," Lilith stated.
"May I know why?" Apollyon questioned.
"Because I have to go to my home, where I could not visit for ten years. I don't want anyone to
die if I look at them," Lilith reasoned.
"That cannot happen, Lilith," Apollyon pronounced and he approached her. "The black flower
was magical as I said. What I did the last time was to protect you and it always will. I don't want
anyone to look at you with lust," he asserted and paused in front of her.
Lilith lowered her eyes as his fingers traced the contour of her cheek. Her long eyelashes
fluttered like the wings of the butterfly and she raised them to meet his gaze.
"I told you not to touch me," Lilith reminded him.
"I am simply admiring my wife's beauty," Apollyon promptly responded. "Also, you don't hate it,
do you?" He amusedly asked.
"I do," Lilith firmly replied and took a step back. "I shall leave," she murmured and was ready to
exit the room when Apollyon grasped her wrist, drawing her close.
"I will accompany you. I can't let you go out alone," Apollyon opined, concern evident on his
face.
"I was doing well without you even before the marriage," Lilith reminded him. She didn't want
him to see her house and see her memories.
"You are the Queen now. Not an ordinary young woman anymore," Apollyon stated and brushed
the hair away from her cheek. "You didn't use the fragrance today," he whispered.
Lilith opened her mouth to speak. "Because I didn't like that perfume. It has a strong scent," she
muttered. Her eyes landed on the desk, where a pile of scrolls were placed.
"Lilith, my sister will be in the palace soon," Apollyon informed her about Elena. "Don't reveal
our relationship to her. She may trouble you. I won't let you get harmed in any way, but you
need to be careful," he advised Lilith.
"That means my life is going to be hell," Lilith remarked.
Apollyon clicked his tongue, wondering why she always interpreted his words negatively. "I don't
want to harm her, which is why I want you to be cautious. A devil can kill another devil," he
emphasized.
Lilith realized that Apollyon's family was far more complicated than she had initially thought.
"I understand," Lilith said and pulled away her wrist. "As long as she stays within boundaries I
will remain quiet," she affirmed. Lilith asked Apollyon what if Elena read her thoughts as his
half-brothers used to do all the time.
"I have a way that no one can read your mind," Apollyon informed her.
"What kind of way?" curious Lilith inquired.
"Kiss me," Apollyon said, his tone appeared teasing.
Lilith chuckled and turned around to leave, but paused to see Apollyon in front of her. "You need
to kiss me, Lilith. The magic will work then. I also do not want anyone to read your mind. You
have some of the beautiful memories in there and I don't want anyone including me to invade
that part of your life," he stated. Apollyon ended up seeing the day her father died and seeing
her tears, his heart broke into pieces.
"Is there not any other way?" Lilith asked again.
"I wish there was another way," Apollyon truthfully said.
"Don't kiss me back," Lilith said.
"Why?" Apollyon frowned at her request.
"Because I don't love you. I want to kiss you because I don't wish anyone to enter my mind,"
Lilith clarified to him.
"Sure," Apollyon said.
