Dedicated to us
"For me?" Lilith looked at the flower bouquet and inhaled the fragrances of the fresh roses, a gentle smile spreading across her face.
"Yes," Apollyon replied with a warm smile, "I was in the garden, and I thought of you, so I decided to bring them for you." He carefully took one of the roses and inserted it behind her ear on the left side, stepping back to admire his handiwork.
"I love them. They are beautiful," Lilith said, her eyes sparkling with delight. She glanced around the room and noticed an empty flower vase on the table.
She walked over, placed the roses inside, and delicately touched their petals, feeling their velvety texture. "Apollyon," she said, turning to face him, "I have found out something from an ancient textbook."
"What is it?" Apollyon queried with a curious gaze.
Lilith was quick to take a book out of the drawer of the side table and asked him to sit on the bed. She sat next to him and turned pages of the thick book. "I found out about a clan of the sorcerers. Not much is mentioned about them. However, it's said that they live in a valley hidden beneath a snowland," she explained to him, pointing the finger on the paragraph.
"Really?" Apollyon asked and looked at the text. Lilith was right. There was the mention of the sorcerers and it left him bewildered.
"The place isn't mentioned, so now, we have to find this place," Lilith proclaimed, her voice filled with excitement.
"Yes. I'll find out about such a place. You are wonderful, Lilith. We all were sure that the sorcerers' hideout was kept a secret, but you proved us wrong. I'm glad you are the Queen," Apollyon stated with a smirk, admiration evident in his eyes.
Lilith smiled back, her cheeks flushing slightly with pride. She closed the book carefully, placing it back inside the drawer and closing it with a decisive click. Standing straight, she turned to Apollyon, determination in her gaze. "We will uncover the chapter of the sorcerers, and we will also find out the truth about the murder of my father," she declared.
"Yes, we will," Apollyon assured her, his voice firm. He didn't reveal to her that he had suspicions about her mother being alive. The findings from Lilith's father hinted at it, but Apollyon wanted solid evidence before sharing such a revelation.
"Let's go somewhere," Apollyon stated suddenly, standing up. His tall frame almost touched hers, and she had to lift her head to look at him, her eyes searching his face for answers.
"Where could we possibly go? The Devil Lord has so many responsibilities, and these past few days, he is spending time with me only, not focusing on his work," Lilith asserted, a mixture of concern and curiosity in her voice.
"Darling, this whole week is dedicated to us," Apollyon said, his voice softening. He wrapped his arm around her back, drawing her close. Her chest pressed against his, and her lips came dangerously close to his. "I want to take you somewhere special, somewhere we can be alone and enjoy each other's company without any interruptions."
Lilith felt her heart race at his words. "Where is this place?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper, her breath mingling with his.
"It's a surprise," Apollyon replied, a mischievous glint in his eye. "Close your eyes," he stated.
Lilith did, trusting him completely. Apollyon flicked his fingers, and in the next second, she heard the sound of running water.
She opened her eyes and was mesmerized by the environment around her. They were in a forest, with a crystal-clear water body in the heart of it. To her left, a huge waterfall cascaded down, a beautiful rainbow forming in the mist.
Lilith was awestruck, her eyes wide with wonder. "This place is magical," she whispered, unable to take her eyes off the breathtaking sight.
Apollyon watched her reaction with satisfaction. "I knew you'd love it," he said softly. "This is a hidden sanctuary, known only to a few. I wanted to share it with you."
Lilith turned to him, her eyes shining with gratitude. "It's perfect. Thank you, Apollyon," she said, wrapping her arms around him in a warm embrace.
He held her close, feeling her heartbeat against his chest. "Anything for you, my Queen," he whispered into her ear.
As Lilith pulled away, she ran toward the waterfall, wanting to see it more closely.
