About their Romance
“You are not a kid who needs pampering,” Lilith remarked and carefully took a step back. Apollyon sighed since his attempts to get close to her went futile. “Make more attempts to woo me,” she asserted, walking past him.
Apollyon slightly smiled and turned around only to find she was walking outside. He followed her and soon approached her. The guards at the door’s entrance bowed to them as the two stepped out.
“Since you have allowed me to woo you, can I attempt to get intimate with you?” Apollyon asked.
“No,” Lilith replied.
“Then, how will I woo you? I find no other way,” Apollyon wanted to know her opinions of her. “How would I know?” Lilith muttered. “I had a question. Does this turquoise crystal hold any magic?” she asked out of the blue, changing the topic of their conversation.
“It does,” Apollyon answered. “This crystal is the rarest of the rare. Whenever you will be in danger, I will find out. Also, the crystal holds its own power as well,” he proclaimed.
“You never let anyone have this turquoise pendant including your father, yet you gave this to me. Do I matter a lot to you? It was of your mother,” Lilith stated, again trying to learn about his past.
“You do. You are the reason for my current existence. It was something special that my mother left for me. She belonged to a powerful human clan in her time. The people from her clan used to have some unique abilities,” Apollyon asserted, revealing a bigger detail of his mother’s life.
“Which clan does your mother belong to?” Lilith inquired.
“I do not know. Father never told me. It was meant to be a secret,” Apollyon replied.
Lilith was shocked to learn that. “You should have asked. At least, you should know what clan your mother belonged to,” she asserted.
“Mother never bothered to tell me, so I never cared. Moreover, the clan disappeared many years ago. It does not exist anymore. I learned from Father,” Apollyon proclaimed and they halted outside the dining hall’s door. As it opened, they were welcomed by the sight of Apollyon’s half-siblings, seated with graceful smiles on their lips.
“Morning to the King and the Queen of Azuria,” Jareth said, who was seated right in the King’s chair. Beside him, Ragnar was seated.
Lilith greeted everyone before taking her place while Apollyon sat down after her. Elena was seated next to Lilith and asked the reason behind her cheerfulness.
“Lilith made the tea for my brother. The entire palace is talking about their romance. I thought Lilith would stay upset with Apollyon at least for a month,” Jareth remarked, the touch of amusement visible on his face.
“Why are you so interested in our lives?” Apollyon confronted him.
“Let Lilith answer, Brother,” Jareth stated.
“Apollyon loves to have tea. But he did not have it for a long time, so I decided to make tea for us. Also, you asked me to understand Apollyon, which I am doing. If I stay upset for no reason with him, then I will be called selfish and egoistic. I am not that kind of person,” Lilith answered to Jareth, who gave a satisfactory smile to her.
Elena suggested to them they should start the breakfast before it would turn cold. A deep silence prevailed in the dining hall. Apollyon reached out his left hand toward Lilith, who had her left hand on her lap. She narrowly glanced at him, trying to pull her hand away from his grip.
When he did not stop, Lilith glared at Apollyon, gesturing for him to release her hand. However, he did not listen to her and intertwined their fingers.
“Lilith, why are you not eating?” Elena’s voice made Lilith self-conscious and she gazed at her.
“I am eating,” Lilith said.
Apollyon smiled at her reaction and finally release her hand. Lilith swiftly placed it up on the table and again shot a glare at Apollyon.
“I heard about the council meeting in the capital,” Jareth spoke, thus breaking the ice. "I hope you don't make laws that give humans an upper hand," he suggested to Apollyon.
"You don't need to remind me about my administration, Jareth. You should focus on the work for which you and Ragnar are here. Finish that work and leave as soon as possible," Apollyon stated. The atmosphere turned a bit gloomy with that.
"You could have answered politely," Jareth remarked.
"This is the way I talk," Apollyon affirmed.
"Only with me," Jareth stated.
"Because you deserve this," Apollyon pronounced.
"You both started again," Lilith interjected in their argument. "Can't you two stay quiet while dining? Also, you two are thousands of years old creatures, yet you act like young kids," she reprimanded them.
"Tell your husband to show respect toward me," Jareth asserted.
"Who are you to order her?" Apollyon growled at her.
"See! I am nice to Apollyon, yet he disrespects me," Jareth said as he got irked.
"You deserve it, Jareth. Since you get annoyed by me, you should consider leaving," Apollyon said; the two of them kept glaring at each other.
Ragnar pressed his fingers on the temple of his forehead as they again started arguing.
Elena smiled to see their arguments and wondered how Lilith would stop them.
"Jareth will not leave anywhere," Lilith pronounced.
Apollyon glanced at her with inquisitiveness since he expected her to stand with his decision.
"Don't talk rudely with your elder brother," she told Apollyon in a stern tone and shifted her gaze to Jareth.
"Respect the people younger than you. Your words bring humiliation. You look down upon the humans. I agree a group of humans had their hands in sealing you all, but that doesn't mean, others are the same. If you want us to respect you, then you need to respect us," Lilith asserted.
Ragnar and Elena were impressed with Lilith since she succeeded in shutting down Jareth's and Apollyon's mouths. Once again they resumed eating in silence and peace.
