Lilith's mother isn't dead
As the morning sun graced the morning sky, Lilith stirred from her deep slumber, finding the
bedchamber empty. She sat up, trying to piece together the events of the previous day.
The revelations from her father's journal had left Lilith with numerous questions and
uncertainties. However, Apollyon's presence had offered some comfort, as he explained that her
father, Oliver, had been attempting to understand supernatural and dark forces.
"I hope the black flower doesn't hold the meaning that my father understood," Lilith murmured to
herself, taking a deep breath to steady her thoughts. Getting out of bed, she decided to leave
the room.
Zoey respectfully bowed upon seeing Lilith and greeted her. Lilith remarked that Zoey could
have come in to wake her up.
"No one is allowed to enter His Majesty's bedchamber except Her Majesty. Moreover, His
Majesty ordered not to disturb the Queen's sleep," Zoey answered.
"I need to freshen up. Ask the servants to prepare the bathhouse for me. I didn't wash my hair
last evening," Lilith said and went ahead.
Zoey followed her and asked Lilith if she was alright. "Her Majesty's face doesn't look good. I
mean the glow on her face has diminished. I hope she's not taking any kind of stress," Zoey
said, expressing her concern.
Lilith remained quiet as she arrived at her chamber. She freshened up first before heading to the
bathhouse. An hour later, when she got ready in a maroon shade gown. "Your Majesty, a feast
has been organized in the evening. Some important dignitaries will be present at this feast,"
Zoey informed Lilith, who was surprised to hear her.
"Why is a feast organized suddenly?" Lilith inquired as she looked at Zoey through the mirror,
who was brushing her hair.
"I heard that His Majesty got a victory on a certain matter. Even the devils have rank and serve
the King. So, all such devils will be a part of today's feast," Zoey explained to Lilith. Once Lilith
was ready, she told Zoey she would like to be alone for a while.
Zoey asked with humility, "What about breakfast, Your Majesty?"
Lilith replied softly, "I don't have an appetite right now. "Apollyon won't punish you. I assure you,"
she asserted and left the vanity chair.
Lilith, lost in her thoughts, made her way to the study room to continue reading where she had
left off the previous day. Her mind was preoccupied with the revelations from her father's journal,
and she sought to find more clarity and understanding within its pages.
However, on her way, she met Jareth.
"Lilith, why do I feel you aren't looking good," Jareth remarked, his brows creasing.
"I don't wish to talk to you," Lilith stated and resumed the walk.
"Well, I didn't expect that answer. I had a few questions regarding your mother," Jareth's
statement made her stop in her way.
"Why are you asking about my mother?" Lilith arched her eyebrows at him in suspicion.
"Because your family lineage seems strange to me. Did Apollyon not talk about this with you?"
Jareth tilted his head in amusement.
"My mother died when I was one year old. I don't have any memory regarding my mother," Lilith
asserted. "May I know why you find my family lineage strange?" she waited for his response.
"Because your father knew a lot of things, which he should not have. I talked to Apollyon last
day about why your father knew about the black flower. It wasn't known to humans. He even
stopped you from looking at it," Jareth stated.
Lilith frowned at him. "Who told you to read my entire thoughts? You were not supposed to look
into my mind, my memories," she shouted at him, her frustration evident on her face.
"My sincere apologies, Queen Lilith. However, try to run your mind instead of your sharp
tongue," Jareth snickered as he disappeared from her sight.

Apollyon's gaze fixed upon the shelves, adorned with a vast array of documents and scrolls. He
had previously reprimanded Karin for allowing Lilith access to her late father's research
materials. Despite knowing Apollyon's displeasure, Karin mustered the courage to speak up.
"Your Majesty, should I gather all these documents and scrolls and place them in a box?" Karin
inquired cautiously.
"No. I need to read them. Three hours are enough to finish reading them," Apollyon guessed the
time in which he would go through them.
"But it would be better if His Majesty read them in the palace along with Her Majesty," Karin
suggested.
"Karin, you were scolded earlier for a reason," Apollyon said, which made him turn silent. "Go
out and search Lilith's father's room. If you find anything important, then inform me," he stated.
Complying with the command, Karin left the room to carry out the task given to him.
Apollyon went through the documents. He was surprised that no one tried to enter the house in
the past ten years. Either Oliver was killed because he knew too much or because of some
rivalry. However, he could not either jump to a random conclusion.
The first two hours were spent reading the various herbs, and medicinal plants used for various
diseases, injuries, etc. Lilith's father used to keep a record of newly found diseases and their
cure.
Apollyon couldn't find anything in those documents and scrolls, which could take him to a certain
conclusion.
Apollyon leaned against the shelf, sighing. He went toward the desk and opened the drawers to
check inside them. The last drawer was locked, so he used magic to open it. He found a
metallic box there along with a key.
Apollyon took it out, placed it on the table, and opened it using the key. His eyes shone brightly
because of the crystal present inside.
"A turquoise crystal!" Apollyon mumbled and he frowned. He was unable to understand why one
more turquoise crystal was present on Earth. His mother had told him it was the rarest crystal
and she had it in the pendant.
Apollyon got down to search in the last drawer and found a few letters with no name. To his
surprise, none of the letters were ever opened. He decided to check them and placed them on
the desk.
Opening the first one, he read it and found out it was from Lilith's mother, Aria Ravensong.
"Lilith's mother isn't dead," Apollyon muttered.
