You look pretty
The next morning, Lilith woke up earlier than Apollyon. Last night after dinner, she had a short
conversation regarding Apollyon's life and she found out he mostly refrained from answering
questions regarding his mother.
After freshening up and getting ready into an off-white gown, she headed to the royal kitchen to
bring tea for herself and Apollyon. Although devils were not used to drinking tea, apollyon had
spent a long time with humans in the past. Last night's conversation made her find out about his
likes and dislikes.
"Your Majesty, the servants can bring the tea to the chamber. The Queen doesn't need to do this
work," Zoey humbly opined.
"I want to do it," Lilith asserted.
"Her Majesty has changed her outlook for His Majesty. I am surprised to see this because the
first day she wasn't like this," Zoey proclaimed.
"Till now, I found out a lot of things. My misunderstandings have ended and it will not be wise to
keep fighting with Apollyon," Lilith stated. The servants bowed to see their Queen as she walked
past them.
Upon entering the royal kitchen, everyone bowed to Lilith as if they were already waiting for their
arrival.
The chief chef stepped up and greeted Lilith. "Your Majesty, I am Jasper, the chief chef. I look
after the meals, snacks, and beverages," he politely introduced himself.
"I am here to make the morning jasmine tea for the King. You all should continue doing your
work. Jasper, I may need your help with the ingredients," Lilith said with a gentle smile.
"It will be my pleasure to help Her Majesty," Jasper replied.
After she prepared the tea, Zoey carried the teapot and teacups on a tray to the chamber and
followed Lilith. Zoey placed the tray on the table and told Lilith she should wake Apollyon up.
"He is still sleeping!?" Lilith exclaimed and headed to the bedchamber to check on him.
However, Apollyon was not on the bed. Since Apollyon didn't allow servants to be present inside
the chamber, she couldn't ask them if he had seen Apollyon.
Turning, Lilith was ready to step out when she heard the door shut.
"You woke up early," Apollyon's voice fell into her ears and she turned around to face him.
Quickly, she brought her hand up to cover her eyes. Apollyon chuckled to notice her reaction.
"You have seen me in this way many times," he stated and decided to tease her.
"Because you love to act shameless," Lilith said. "Dress up and come to the drawing chamber,"
Lilith said. She was ready to leave when Apollyon asked her to help him.
Lilith kept her hand in front of her eyes. "Why should I help you?" she asked.
"Wives do help their husbands in selecting attires for them," Apollyon responded.
"I will ask Zoey and other servants to help you dress up," Lilith stated.
"You forgot Lilith that here no one can enter except you. Also, no one can look at my naked
body except you," Apollyon whispered in her ear and she immediately tilted her head after
feeling the blow of hot air on her ear.
Lilith was flustered to see him so close to her. In a flurry, she stepped back when her foot
twisted. But Apollyon steadied her, his bare arm encircling her waist while her hand rested on
his chest.
Promptly, Lilith withdrew her hand and curled her fingers. "You look pretty," Apollyon
complimented her.
"You say this every day," Lilith muttered.
"I say this only to you," Apollyon brushed the pad of his finger on the bridge of her nose before
grabbing her chin gently.
"When will you allow me to kiss you?" Apollyon gazed intensely at her lips.
"There is someone on the door," Lilith tried distracting him and looked toward the door.
"No one is there," Apollyon affirmed.
Lilith bit her bottom lip and blinked her eyes rapidly for a moment. "You should let me go," she
stated.
"I will, after you give me the answer," Apollyon said.
Lilith met his gaze. "That will not happen. You need to earn it," she asserted.
Apollyon was amused by her answer. "I thought you would refuse to kiss me in this life.
Your answer has changed, which means we will soon share a kiss," Apollyon proclaimed and let her
go before going to the dressing table.
Lilith went to the cupboard and selected the attire for him for the day. "You will fail in getting a
kiss from my will," she murmured.
"I love challenges, Lilith," Apollyon asserted with a bright smile.
"I know you do. You don't have to remind me," Lilith said and closed the cupboard. She handed
the dress to Apollyon and continued, "Wear this and come outside. You can use the magic to
dry your hair. You have five minutes to get ready. If you get late, I won't talk to you for the entire
day."
Lilith headed to the door while Apollyon quickly acted on her command.
Zoey found Lilith had come alone and she asked her about Apollyon.
"He will be here soon. You should leave, Zoey. I will see you in the afternoon," Lilith stated.
Zoey without questioning complied with the order and left. Lilith sat on the sofa chair, waiting for
Apollyon to come. Surprisingly, he entered the drawing room earlier than she had expected.
"What's this?" Apollyon was surprised to see the tea set and gazed at Lilith with inquisitiveness.
"I prepared the tea for us," Lilith replied and poured the tea for him. Apollyon sat across from
her. "You told me last night that you enjoyed drinking tea. So, I thought we should drink this
every day in the morning. I made jasmine tea. I hope you like it." She set the teacup on the
saucer and began pouring tea for her in another teacup.
Apollyon got giddy and felt delighted. Lilith made the tea with her hands for him. This was the
biggest change in their relationship. He happily lifted the cup and brought it to his mouth.
Inhaling the scent of the jasmine, he took a sip. Lilith's hands had magic. He hardly had such a
taste of tea in a long time.
Lilith narrowly glanced at him and found him enjoying the tea. It brought a tiny smile to her lips.
