A strange sight

CHAPTER FIFTEEN

CHRISTAINS POV

The next morning, I woke up in Hazels bed.

I found Hazel curled up beside me, her face peaceful like a sleeping child. A strand of hair was hanging on her face, seemingly moving in her dreams. I gently brushed it aside to get a better look at her.

I leaned closer to her and gazed at her face as if it were the first time I had seen her. Her skin was soft like cream, and I couldn't help but want to touch it with my fingers. God she was cute when she was sleeping, I thought to myself, then quickly brushed aside my feelings. No, I was only here to figure out the physical bond between us, the girl was a weakness and had to be eliminated from my life as soon as possible.

My eyes fell on her hand. I looked over at her fingertips, it seemed that she had fallen asleep while reading from a strange book. I climbed out of bed and picked up the book that had fallen to the ground from her tiny fingertips. She was so small. Why did this book look so familiar to me?

The book that looked old and worn, as if it had been through countless years.

I saw a line of words on it that read "The Book of the Future."

There was no writing in the book, just blank pages waiting for something.

Who could it change the destiny of?

My gaze began to roam the book until I saw a name, Christain.

I couldn't help but sneer. Christain?

I found it somewhat amusing, does Hazel like this little boy? Although he was a kinda ok warrior, in my eyes, he was still a fragile young man.

My gaze involuntarily fell on Hazel's face, and my expression grew a bit colder.

I gently put the book back in its place and opened another page. Blank. Blank. Still blank. I flipped through the whole book and found no other writing.

The Book of the Future?

Inspired, I wrote down the name of the Dragon Slayer God.

As soon as I finished writing, a powerful magic suddenly surged forth, and the pattern on the book began to change, revealing a magnificent scene in front of me.

My gaze gradually deepened and became brighter. I saw the God of War in a corner of the world, where he had become a prince in a human kingdom.

The Dragon Slayer God stood before me, his towering figure radiating an aura of power and mystery. His eyes glimmered like burning embers, and his sharp, angular features were etched with ancient runes.

As I faced him, I could feel a rush of adrenaline pumping through my veins. I was determined to conquer him, to prove my worth and claim victory over my greatest enemy.

A sense of danger and excitement that drew me in.

As he began to speak, his voice echoed like thunder through the chamber. His words were cryptic.

I can see he was still alive, and his soul had split into two parts, residing in different places.

Different places?

I would need to track down his soul fragments and defeat them one by one, weakening his power and leaving him vulnerable to a final strike.

I flipped through the pages of the book, looking for more information. I felt a wave of excitement, just as I was about to confirm his location, I suddenly felt a fluctuation of magic in my hand. The writing in the book became blurry.

Did this damn book just be damaged?

My excitement was interrupted and I felt very annoyed.

"Mmm," the girl beside me let out a sweet moan and turned over.

Seeing her made me even more agitated. She seemed to be sleeping soundly?

I grabbed her and shook her body. "Hazel, wake up and see what's wrong with this book!" I shouted.

She slowly opened her sleepy eyes and looked at me innocently. At first, she looked a bit puzzled and annoyed, but when she saw the book in my hand, her expression instantly became blank.

Hazel let out a sob, tears streaming down her face. "I can't believe it," she said. "My book is ruined."

"How did it turn black!" I had never seen her with such big eyes before.

"How am I supposed to know it's a piece of junk? Hurry up and see how to fix it, you're a witch, aren't you?"

She flipped through the trashy book and tried to wipe off the stains while trying to cast some kind of magic, but she froze.

Can you please stop staring? Solve the problem quickly!

Tears streamed down her face, "I'm a witch, I'm a witch, but this book, this book! How could you do this? This is my book, my teacher gave it to me, it's very important......" Her tears coming faster and harder.

I felt a splitting headache. Things were getting more and more complicated, how did it turn out like this?

I pressed my temples, waiting for her to calm down, but accidentally touched the tears at the corner of my eyes...

What's going on? Why am I like this?

She cried louder and louder, unable to control herself. My mind was in chaos, my emotions were turbulent, and I felt extremely sad and angry, until I couldn't hold it in any longer...and burst into tears.

It was truly a strange sight.
