Kisses
CHAPTER TWENTY
Hazel’s POV
"Why haven't you repaired the Book of Fate yet?" His cold tone sent shivers down my spine, and I turned to face him with a heavy heart.
"I-I just went out to deliver something," I stuttered, hoping to avoid his wrath.
But Riven was not easily dissuaded. "You were delivering something to Christain, weren't you?" he accused, his piercing gaze leaving no room for denial.
I hesitated before answering, not sure how to navigate the situation. "I'm taking the entrance exam soon," I said, trying to deflect his accusations. "I need to focus on my studies and can't spend all my time repairing books."
"Unlike you, I have responsibilities and don't have time to do nothing all day," Riven's eyes narrowed, and I could sense his growing anger. I added quickly, hoping to placate him. "But I'll try to repair the Book of Fate now."
The words had barely left my mouth before Riven's expression darkened even further. "You're treading on thin ice," he warned, his voice low and menacing. "If you fail to repair the Book of Fate, the consequences will be severe."
I swallowed hard, feeling a lump form in my throat. I knew that the Book of Fate was a powerful artifact, and repairing it was no easy task. But I also knew that I had no choice but to try.
He grabbed me and pulled me into his arms, his voice serious as he spoke. "Next time, you are not allowed to go out without my permission," he said firmly.
I struggled to stand up and push him away, feeling frustrated and angry at his controlling behavior. "You are the most dangerous person here," I retorted. "And besides, I have Christain to protect me in the college. I'm not afraid of danger. If any danger entered into the university my Christain would surely protect me, I don’t need you."
At the mention of Christain's name, Riven's face twisted with jealousy and anger. He couldn't take it anymore, and with a loud crack, he slammed his hand down on the table, almost breaking my desk.
I was startled by the sudden display of anger, and I quickly retreated, trying to calm myself by taking a sip of the black tea on my desk. But as I reached for the cup, my legs suddenly went weak and I stumbled, falling to the ground.
Riven, who had been standing nearby, instinctively went to help me up, but I panicked and grabbed onto his clothes, pulling him down with me. He fell on top of me, and we both tumbled to the ground.
As we lay there, Riven looked down at me, his eyes full of emotion. "I'm jealous of Christain," he said softly. "I don't want to hear his name again."
My eyes widened. Could it be that Riven, the evil dragon, was jealous of my crush?
My heart was racing as I stared into Riven's intense eyes, feeling his hot breath on my face. It was as if time had frozen, and the only thing that existed in the world was the two of us, locked in a heated stare.
And then, with a suddenness that took my breath away, his hand brushed away a strand of hair from my face, sending shivers down my spine. We were so close now that I could feel the heat of his body, and I knew that something was about to happen.
As he leaned towards me, the air seemed to crackle with electricity. I could feel the warmth of his body as he wrapped his arms around me, pulling me closer. And then his lips touched mine, sending a jolt of pleasure through my entire being.
It was as if every nerve in my body had come to life, responding to his every touch. My skin tingled with excitement as his lips moved against mine, soft and tender. I could taste the sweetness of his breath, and my heart raced with every beat.
As the kiss deepened, I found myself lost in the moment, completely swept away by the intensity of our connection. It was like nothing I had ever experienced before, a feeling that was both exhilarating and terrifying at the same time.
And as we finally pulled away, I could feel the deep red blush spreading across my face, a physical testament to the overwhelming passion that had just taken hold of me. In that moment, I knew that I had fallen under his spell, completely and utterly consumed by the power of his kiss.
But even as we pulled away, the intense energy between us lingered, leaving us both stunned and breathless. For a moment, we stood there in silence, our eyes locked in a fierce gaze that spoke volumes about the depth of our desire.
And then, without warning, Riven's hand reached out and gently touched my cheek, sending a shiver down my spine. I could feel his fingers tracing the curve of my face, his touch leaving a fiery trail in its wake.
I looked up at him, my heart pounding in my chest as I wondered what was going to happen next. And then, with a suddenness that took my breath away, he leaned in and kissed me again, his lips hungry and urgent against mine.
We finally pulled away, gasping for breath, I knew that my life would never be the same again.
I was a little embarrassed and unsure of what to do, so I just sat there and pretended nothing had happened.
“I-I will sit here and read while you try to fix the book.” Riven said awkwardly. I noticed that my red blush had also transferred to Rivens face. His lovely skin was blush pink too.
Riven sat by my side and read a book as I tried to repair the Book of Fate, but he was quiet, his face turned away in embarrassment.
My heart was beating so fast. I had never felt my own heart like this before. I brought my hand to my heart to try to calm it.
I couldn't help but sneak glances at him, and I saw that he was covering his heart with his hand. Had my fast heartbeat also quickened his?!
Sensing my gaze, he quickly dropped his hand and stood up, moving to the window to take a deep breath. My heart was beating fast as I watched him, and I couldn't help but feel a little excited. But as I opened my mouth to speak, I said something that made Riven unavoidably angry.
