Chapter 20 (2)
After some hours that Bella and Cam drove off, Leonard finally came around to pick her up as he said. When she stepped in and placed her seatbelt she felt Leonard was pissed off as he was awfully quiet.
"Is everything okay?"
"Yes." He replied sternly but Emily knew it wasn't true.
"Where are we going?" She asked when she realized Leonard was passing another road instead of the one that led to her house.
"To eat," he replied sternly again.
Emily looked outside the window as he drove into the outskirts of town, they even passed a lot of restaurant that Emily was sure Leonard would love but when she stared back at Leonard he seemed focus on getting to where he wanted to get to.
Leonard drove into a park and parked the car under a tree, Emily followed his gaze and realized they were in the middle of an isolated field.
She watched Leonard turn off the engine and highlight down from the car. He walked up to her door and opened it for her motioning her out.
"Thank you," Emily appreciated as she came down from the car. She stood by the door as Leonard walked to the boot. Was the restaurant around this area? She looked around but she couldn't see anything or anyone close by.
It was when Leonard brought out the pillows and blanket rhat she finally understood that this was a picnic, she didn't know if she should assist him or watch him. She decided to watch him and see if he could set up the whole thing without her.
Leonard walked to the shade, laid the blank on the floor, then proceeded to offload the food items on it as well as the pillows. He arranged it in such a way that he and Emily would be forced to seat next to each other.
When he was done, he loosened his tie, pulled his suit and placed it in the car. Then motioned Emily to seat down as he sat beside her placing the pillow so he could lean on it with his elbow.
"You are quiet today, was work that stressful for you." Leonard asked pulling the bowl of grapes between them, he knew Emily wasn't much of a talker but she wasn't one to remain quiet for long.
"I should be asking you that," Emily threw his question back at him.
"Me? You think too much Emily, I was only thinking about you."
Her? How could he think of her with a frown on his face, did the thought of her annoy him that much.
"When were you going to tell me that Riverstone is not your father?"
"What do you mean my father?" Emily asked but got a silent reply from Leonard, he seemed to be thinking about his next question.
"Who is your biological father Emily? because it's certainly not Mr Riverstone."
"And please be honest with me," Leonard continued when he noticed that Emily was about to protest. He was silent all through the ride because the news had gotten to him through Cam and it annoyed him even more that Cam knew this information before him.
He didn't even understand why Cam would go as far as to investigate Emily and her family but yet again the story did not make sense, how could Mr Riverstone not be Emily's father? it didn't just add up or did she not know that he wasn't her father, that also didn't add up, from the look in her eyes it seems she was hiding something from him and not just him but from the world.
Was her mother aware of this? Was her mother even her real mother? Was her sister even her real sister? Whatt else was she hiding?
The thought of it made him think about himself, he had been so lost in thought he barely concentrated while he was at work today, it bothered him so much that he thought him about his own identity and how unreal it was and to find someone who was just as similar as him was mind-blowing.
Who was really this Emily Riverstone?

"Where are we going?"
Bella had noticed that they were passing through an unfamiliar road, she had thought it was a shortcut but when they kept going on and on she realised it wasn't a shortcut and Cam seemed quiet which was unusual of him, he was always more to talkative around her.
"We are just driving around," Cam said looking at her with a smile then back on the road. "Actually I wanted us to discuss something."
"And what are we discussing that would require you to drive around?"
"Well knowing you fully well it's advisable that I drive around."
Bella stared at him trying to understand what he was driving at, was what he was about to say that bad that he didn't want her to walk away because that was the only reason she could think about that would make him want him to drive around.
The thought of it made her start thinking about possible discussions but nothing was coming to mind, she and Cam had not spoken in a long time, so she couldn't pinpoint what was bothering him that much she stared at him as he continued driving this time at a slower pace is this about the kiss she asked and only got a grin of approval from him that she had gotten correct answer.
