12. Hypocrite

*Jade’s POV*

Once we reach home, I give Levi a goodbye kiss. I walk to my door but before I reach to open it, someone comes out. I look to see that it’s Julian. Before I can even greet him; I see he sniffs around and I swear I saw his eyes go black for a second.

He then rudely says, “I wonder what your family will think with you coming back smelling like that and with Levi’s scent all around you.” I know he is referring to the lingering smell of my arousal and I also know Levi’s scent is all over me. I scowl at him for the way he is speaking to me.

I say, “With all due respect Alpha, if I happen to bump into anyone in my family, I will deal with it. I don’t owe anyone an explanation, well other than my parents that is.” He looks really irritated by how I responded, but to be honest I don’t care. I am fed up with how he has been treating me.

He then raises his voice and says, “I never thought that you were that type of girl Jade! I guess I was wrong about you.” Okay now he is really getting on my nerves and respond, “And all of this is coming from where? Just because now Levi and I have something going on, you're classifying me as a slut? How hypocrite of you!”

His face is now red filled with anger and asks, “Hypocrite? How the hell am I being a hypocrite? You are the one prancing around freely with one of your brother’s best friends.” I scoff in disbelief. Is he being serious? He is my brother’s best friend and secretly dated Ava for years and he doesn’t see how hypocritical he being is right now.

I say, “So, then what do you classify Ava as? You dated her secretly for years and you know what? At least Levi had the balls to tell my brother what his intentions with me are. You hid your relationship from everyone including your best friend for years. You don’t see how hypocrite of you that sounds?”’

I swear I could see smoke coming out of his ears with how angry that made him. “Keep my relationship with your sister out of this and don’t disrespect me, remember who you are speaking to Jade.” I am not going to back down just because of who he is and say, “I know who I’m speaking to ALPHA, and I really don’t see how my personal life is any of your concern. This is not affecting the pack in any way.”

He rolls his eyes and storms off. I shake my head wondering why he is acting like that. I make my way to my bathroom to shower and prepare for bed. When I am in bed, I check my phone and realize I have 5 unread text messages and 8 missed calls from Mia. All the messages are asking about Levi and I.

I decide to call her back. “Goddess, about time you got back to me, I was starting to wonder if Levi brought you back to the packhouse with him.” Her exaggerated tone makes me laugh and I tell her, “Levi and I just had a talk.”

She scoffs, “Like I would believe that, especially after the hot kiss I witnessed before training. Girl, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything as hot as that in real life.” I chuckle, then say “Well, we might have made out quite a bit.”

She squeals in happiness. “I knew it Jade, so how far have you gone? Is he a good kisser? How big is he?” There she goes off again, I swear I don’t know how this girl became my best friend. I say, “Mia, breathe. We have not gone past making out, he is a good kisser, and I can't classify something I have not seen. ”

She then sighs and says, “Are you sure you are a werewolf? We are horny creatures and I don’t understand how you can keep your virginity with that hunk of meat.” I respond, “Whatever is going on between Levi and I just started this morning and you expect me to have sex with him already?”

She says, “Okay, yeah maybe I got a little carried away with my excitement. It’s just that if Liam ever made a move on me, I wouldn’t go past a day to jump his bones.” I stop her by saying, “Eww, remember that is my brother and I don’t want to hear your dirty thoughts about him. But that would be completely different because you have had a crush on him since, like forever.”

She sighs and says, “Yeah, I don’t think I will ever go past being his little sister’s best friend, one could only hope. But enough of my sad love life, tell me what you and Levi talked about." I start telling her everything he and I discussed. Mia and I talked on the phone until I fell asleep.

A few days have gone by since graduation and we have been busy preparing for my birthday party, I have also felt restless because the dreams I've had of the silver eyes, they have now been almost every day. I don’t understand the meaning of them and why I’ve been having them with more frequency.

Luna Nora and my mother have been a great, they have made sure to get my approval in everything they are planning with the decorations and the food options as well.

My parents, the Alpha, and Luna said they wanted to discuss something with me today. I made my way to the Alpha’s office to speak to them. I greet them, then take a seat next to my father. I look at them expectantly waiting for someone to start.

The Alpha says, “Jade hope everything is going well. As you know we asked you to come here to discuss a few things with you before your birthday.” I nod and say “Yes Alpha, everything has been good. What do we have to discuss about?”

He says, “We are going to do things a little different for your birthday, than what we usually do with others. We will do the initiation ceremony at the beginning of the party as usual, what we have to do differently is the part when you have to shift.”

I look around giving them a confused look. “What will be different?” My father answers this time, “We are going to ask you to not shift in front of the pack like we usually do. For now, only the Alpha, Luna, your mother, and I will be the ones to see you shift.”

I ask, “What about Liam, Ava, and Mia?” My mom answers this time. “Honey, for now only we will witness your shifting. We will explain everything when the time comes.” I nod my head, “Okay, I trust that whatever it is, you are doing it for my own good.”

They all nod their head at the same time. The Alpha then smiles and says, “Well then now that all that has been cleared, how about you go back with Nora and your mother to go through the final details of your party. It is just in a couple of days.”

I nod my head and follow the Luna and my mother out of the room. The Luna then says, “Jade, the center pieces have arrived already, I wanted to show them to you.” I smile and eagerly say, “I can't wait to see them.”

The rest of the day is spent making arrangements, going through the guest list to make sure no last-minute work has to get done. I am getting really excited about the party, I am a bit disappointed that I won't be able to shift in front of the whole pack. But I try to focus on all the good things that are going to happen.

My party is on Saturday, but my actual birthday is on Sunday. Usually, the party is done the evening before the actual day because once midnight comes, we are able to shift for the first time. My wolf will awaken the day before my birthday and I am eager to meet her and find out how she will be like.

I make my way back home with all these thoughts on my head. On my way back I see Julian and Levi walking around patrolling the area. Levi spots me and immediately grins and winks at me. Julian acts like he doesn’t even see me and keeps walking.

I had talked to Levi about the argument Julian and I had, and we decided to keep our distance when he was around since it really seemed to upset him for some reason. Levi just waved at me and blew a kiss my way. I shook my head and chuckled at his actions.

I still wonder why Julian is behaving that way. I mean he has been proving how much of a hypocrite he is by sneaking into Ava’s room every night. I just wonder if things will ever go back to normal with him.
