22. Open and Honest

*Jade’s POV*

We made eye contact for a moment and I notice his eyes travel down to where Levi’s arm is wrapped around my waist. I notice him glare at Levi’s arm while clenching his jaw.

My eyes move away from him and notice his arms are wrapped around Ava. I immediately look away, although I can still feel his intense gaze on me.

I came here to let loose and to enjoy my last days here, I am not going to let him or even the thought of him here dampen my mood.

I turn to Levi who has a look of concern plastered all over his face. Before he has a chance to say anything, I say, “I am fine, let's just enjoy the night.”

He smirks and says, “I can help with that. Shall we dance?”

I just nod my head, while giggling at him. While he is already playfully pulling me toward him and guiding us towards the middle of the dance floor.

We start dancing close to where Mia is. She is now dancing with both guys that approached her earlier. I shake my head and chuckle when I see that she is sandwiched between the two of them.

Levi follows my gaze and start to chuckle as well, while pulling me closer to him. We soon start dancing together, forgetting about everything else.

Our bodies move in sync with each other with the beat of the music. We are dancing facing each other when he suddenly spins me around. My ass is now rubbing against his crotch.

I can feel his hardness rubbing against me. I start feeling bold and press myself even closer to him. Levi growls in my ear, making me shiver all over.

He then tells me. “If you keep teasing me like this don’t blame me if I can't control myself.”

I smirk back at him, “I don’t think I would mind that.”

He lets out a chuckle and says, “You can’t say I didn’t warn you.”

Levi then pulls me by the hip pulling me closer to him, while I reach behind me and place my hand at the nape of his neck.

I suddenly turn to face him; I look up at him and notice his eyes are turning darker than they previously were.

I notice the way his eyes move down to my lips, then back up to my eyes. He then whispers in my ear, “I know you have been going through a lot, but I want to make sure you are okay with this. I want to make sure we don’t do anything if you are still feeling vulnerable.”

I get closer to him and say, “Levi, I promise that if I was not okay with something you were doing, I would tell you.”

He nods his head but I notice he still doesn’t make a move. I then realize that he is not going to make the first move.

I decide to take the initiative and capture his lips with mine. I smirk when he immediately responds to the kiss.

Levi kisses me passionately and I can feel his desire through the kiss. I know that if we continue this, we will end up giving the whole club a show.

I suddenly feel Levi getting pulled away from me. A soon as my eyes open, I see a raging Julian holding Levi by the collar of his shirt.

I know Levi can't do anything against his Alpha and it fills me with rage to know that Levi can't defend himself against Julian.

I suddenly feel a rush of power going through me and I say in a commanding tone, “Let go of Levi, now!”

Julian suddenly pauses and turns to look at me with a surprised look on his face. He slowly let's go of Levi. It was almost as if he was not in control of his body.

Levi rushes to my side and I can tell he is pissed. I stare directly at Julian and tell him, “Don’t do something like that again, anyone can see you, and you have no right to react in that way. Don’t you care if Ava sees this?”

Julian has not spoken a word to us. I notice that he snaps out of his rage when I mention Ava. He looks around and just walks away from us.

I then hear Levi say, “What the Fuck? How on earth did you get him to let go of me like that?”

I do not respond.

I start to wonder if this has anything to do with Esme. She is a special wolf after all. So many things are going through my mind as to what just happened.

Levi’s voice breaks me out of my trance. “Hey, Jade are you okay? You seemed to have gone to a world of your own.”

“Yeah, I am fine. It's just unbelievable I came here to have a good time and this happened. Why does it seem like I can’t get away from him?”

Levi sighs, “Jade, I have a hard time finding the right words to say to you in this situation. I don’t know how you feel and I can’t tell you how you should feel.”

I notice him take a deep breath in and out, still trying to calm himself down and he continues.

“All I can say to you is what I know; and I know that you are a strong and amazing woman. I truly believe that everything happens for a reason and all of this going on now is leading you to your correct path.”

I smile up at Levi, I love that he is not afraid to be open and honest with me.

I respond, “Thank you so much Levi, for sticking by me and for knowing exactly what to say to make me feel better. I just want you to know that I appreciate you so much.”

I hug him and he gladly hugs me back. His embrace is warm and comforting. I feel safe with him and I know that no matter what happens between the both of us, Levi will always be someone important to me.

We pull away and remember that we are still in the middle of the club. I look at my surrounds not wanting to be here anymore.

Almost as if he read my mind Levi asks, "Do you want to get out of here?”

I nod my head, “Let me just find Mia.”

I walk away without waiting for a response to look for Mia. She is now just with one of the guys she was with earlier.

I went to let her know that we were leaving and she insisted she was going to stay behind. I let her be since I know she can handle herself.

I make my way back to Levi. He smiles as soon as he sees me,

“Ready?”, he asks.

I respond with a small “Yes.”

On our way back we are driving in a comfortable silence but I suddenly feel like not really wanting to be back home just yet.

“I'm sorry our night was cut short, I feel really bad about it and I don’t even want to go back home yet,”, I say.

Levi looks over at me for a moment and says, “First off don't apologize for something that is not your fault and secondly, just say the word and we could hang out at my place for a while.”

I smile at his and say, “That sounds great. I really don’t want to be home right now, and what makes this better is that I am in great company.”

Levi chuckles while shaking his head.

We make it to his place soon after. Once there he leads me to the living room, he goes to grab some drinks. When he gets back, he sits down next to me.

I can tell something is on his mind, I am about to ask him what is going on but he beats me to it.

He suddenly says, “I have been thinking about a lot of things lately and one that has really been going through my mind quite constantly is leaving this place.”

I look at him surprised, ”What, why?”

He sighs, “I just don’t know how I will be able to work under someone I lost all respect for.”

I know a lot of his feelings towards Julian are because of me and I would hate for to give up a position he has worked his entire life for because of that.

“But what about your Gamma position, are you sure you want to give up on that?”

He chuckled, and says, “To be completely honest, I never really wanted the Gamma position. My parents were always the ones to push me to become the Gamma, to take over my father’s position.”

Lately, I have noticed how much Levi and I have in common. We have never felt fulfilled with our lives but kept quiet about it, so that everyone else around us would be happy.

I still have not told Levi about my plans, but it seems that now will be the perfect to do so.

“I have been keeping something from everyone, only a few people know and I think it's only right you hear it from me.”

He gives me a confused look but I continue.

“I am going to join the royal army. I will be leaving in a week.”

He abruptly stands up, turning away from me and says, “You’re leaving?”

I stand up and pull on his arm, so that he faces me. I look at him directly in the eyes while speaking.

“I have to. You see how Julian is reacting towards me, there is no way I can live like that. He even forced a kiss on me when he found out about my plans to leave.”

Anger quickly took over his face, “What is he thinking? He was the one that rejected you. He has also made things difficult for me when we are working together.”

I gasp at that, “He has been causing problems for you? Why haven't you said anything about it?”
